Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Prevails over Dodgers for 14th win
Strasburg (14-4) earned the victory over the Dodgers on Sunday, allowing one run on three hits across six innings. He walked three and struck out eight in the 7-1 win.
That's four straight wins for the big righty, who's brought his ERA down to a stingy 2.60 in the process. Combined with his 1.03 WHIP and 190 strikeouts, Strasburg is having one of the best seasons of his eight-year career.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Takes no-decision Sunday
Ryu didn't give up a run on three hits over 4.2 innings of a no-decision Sunday against the Nationals. He walked two and struck out five in what ended up a 7-1 loss.
Ryu didn't fare terribly, but a pitch count of 98, including only 56 strikes, necessitated his early departure. He's failed to factor into the decision more often than not lately (3-2 over his last 16 appearances), which has made the South Korean somewhat of a headache for owners counting on him for wins. His 3.46 ERA has helped lessen the blow, however.

Taijuan Walker SP | LAA
Diamondbacks' Taijuan Walker: Falls to Giants
Walker (9-8) allowed four earned runs on seven hits through five innings Sunday, taking the loss against the Giants. He walked three and struck out four.
Walker's 26th start of the season was one to forget, as the 25-year-old was tagged four three runs in the fifth inning against the lowly Giants. Despite playing his home games in a hitter's park, his 3.45 ERA is a nice improvement over his 3.94 career mark, while his 134 strikeouts are approaching his career-high 157 from 2015 with Seattle.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Set for Tuesday start
Williams will start Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Williams and Jameson Taillon were dropped from the rotation last week to make room for newcomers Steven Brault and Tyler Glasnow, but the former duo will rejoin the starting ranks and take the hill for the Pirates' first two games of the series against Milwaukee. Brault is still in line to start Wednesday's series finale, so it appears that Glasnow could move to the bullpen to accommodate the new arrivals, which would leave the Pirates with a six-man rotation this week. Though Williams struggled in his last outing Sept. 8, he's carried a 3.64 ERA since the All-Star break, which might be enough to keep his starting role relatively secure, especially with Chad Kuhl struggling of late and seemingly most vulnerable of losing his rotation spot should manger Clint Hurdle make further changes over the final few weeks of the season.

Jon Gray SP | TEX
Rockies' Jon Gray: Solid in no-decision
Gray allowed two hits over five innings while walking one and striking out seven in a 4-3 loss to the visiting Padres. He didn't allow a run or factor into the decision.
Gray pitched well enough to deserve his ninth win of the year, but the Rockies' bullpen imploded behind him. As such, his record remains at 8-4 and he remains two wins shy of his career-high 10 set last year. Most importantly, his 3.75 ERA is significantly better than his career mark of 4.46, making him a serviceable fantasy asset in all but the shallowest of leagues.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Surrenders three-run homer in no-decision
Quintana didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Cardinals, surrendering three runs on six hits with one walk and eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
Quintana was in control for most of this outing, with all the damage against him coming on a sixth-inning, three-run homer by Dexter Fowler. Fowler's long ball erased a 3-0 lead, but Chicago ultimately came out on top 4-3. The southpaw is rounding into form with the playoffs on the horizon, as Quintana was one out short of a fourth consecutive quality start. He'll look to start a new streak Friday in Milwaukee.
-
Lance Lynn SP | STL
Cardinals' Lance Lynn: Struggles again Sunday
Lynn lasted only four innings in Sunday's no-decision at Wrigley Field, allowing three runs on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
Lynn exited down 3-0, but Dexter Fowler's sixth-inning, three-run homer got him off the hook even though Chicago ultimately triumphed 4-3. While this is the second consecutive start in which Lynn has pitched five or fewer innings while allowing three earned runs, he had been rock-solid with 11 quality starts in his previous 12 outings. Look for him to bounce back on the road Saturday against the light-hitting Pirates.

Henderson Alvarez SP | WAS
Phillies' Henderson Alvarez: Spins just five frames in loss to Athletics
Alvarez (0-1) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters through five innings while taking the loss to Oakland on Sunday.
This was the first start of the season for Alvarez, so it wasn't surprising to see the 27-year-old righty post a mediocre showing. Alvarez entered Sunday with a 4.7 K/9 through 563 innings, so his fantasy value is significantly capped by his lack of strikeout upside. He's probably best viewed as a risky option for his projected upcoming starts against the Braves at SunTrust Park and the Mets at Citizens Bank Park.
-
Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Fans seven in losing effort
Teheran (11-12) allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out seven batters through six innings while taking the loss to the Mets on Sunday.
Teheran entered with a four-game winning streak and had allowed just six runs through 26 innings during that stretch. This was another strong outing from the 26-year-old righty, and he's worked his year-long numbers down to a 4.52 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with the late-season surge. It's been a nice finish to an otherwise disappointing campaign. Teheran lines up to face the Phillies at home before starting against Miami at Marlins Park to finish the year.
-
Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Earns second major-league victory
Woodruff allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out five over seven innings in a winning effort Sunday against the Marlins.
The rookie -- making his sixth career start -- bounced back from his worst career outing to notch his third quality start in six chances. Other than a rough stretch in the fourth inning in which he allowed four straight hits, Woodruff kept Marlins hitters off the basepaths, for the most part, to even up his record at 2-2. Without a day off in the next week, Woodruff would line up to make his next start Friday at home against the Cubs.
