  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Fans 10 in win Friday

Stripling (2-1) struck out 10 and walked zero in a win over the Padres on Friday, allowing one unearned run on six hits in 6.2 innings.

Over his last four starts, Stripling has allowed just three earned runs across 22 innings of work, striking out 31 against two walks in that span. He's brought his season ERA down to 1.74 to go along with a 1.19 WHIP and 50:9 K:BB in 41.1 innings. With the injuries in the Dodgers' rotation, Stripling figures to toe the rubber again in a start at home next week against the Phillies.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Strikes out seven in win Friday

Corbin (5-1) allowed one run on four hits in a win over Oakland on Friday, striking out seven and walking one over seven innings.

Corbin's lone run allowed came from a home run by Mark Canha in the third inning. He was otherwise very effective, throwing 63 of 99 pitches for strikes while allowing just two extra-base hits. Corbin is now holding opponents to a meek .176 batting average and has an 88:19 K:BB in 69.1 innings. His next start is a favorable matchup against the Reds at home.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Takes second loss Friday

Teheran (4-2) got hit with the loss against the Red Sox on Friday, giving up three earned runs on four hits over six innings, striking out four and walking three as the Braves fell 6-2.

Teheran hurled a quality start in this one but took the loss anyway, as he was outdueled by Boston's Eduardo Rodriguez. It was a solid bounce-back effort for the right-hander, who had given up 10 earned runs over 11 innings in his previous two starts with just five strikeouts against six walks over that time. It's been a bit of a boom-or-bust start to the season for Teheran, who now has a 4.20 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP over 60 innings. He's scheduled to take the mound next in a home matchup against the Mets on Wednesday.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Brilliant in first start of season

Musgrove (1-0) got the win against the Cardinals on Friday, scattering just five hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out seven with no walks in an 8-1 victory for the Pirates.

In his first start of the season coming off the disabled list, Musgrove (shoulder) looked dominant. The most impressive aspect of this start was his efficiency, as the right-hander needed just 67 pitches -- he fired 50 of them for strikes -- to make it through seven innings. It was certainly a positive way to start off his campaign, and while his 4.52 ERA over 171.1 career innings prior to this year would seem to indicate this won't be an every-start occurrence, Musgrove would quickly find himself in the fantasy conversation if this does turn out to be a sign of things to come.

  • Zach Eflin SP | BAL

Phillies' Zach Eflin: Gives up five earned in loss

Eflin (1-1) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Friday, giving up six runs (five earned) on nine hits over 4.2 innings, striking out seven and walking one as the Phillies fell 6-5 to Toronto.

After giving up just three earned runs over his first 17.1 innings of the season, Eflin fell back to earth as he found himself unable to get out of the fourth inning. The hot start was intriguing, and his 3.27 ERA and 24:7 K:BB through four outings both look strong, but Eflin had a 5.34 ERA across 145 career big-league innings coming into this game, and the fact that his two gems to start the season came against a couple of anemic offenses in Miami and San Francisco suggests he simply may have capitalized on some favorable matchups.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Strikes out eight in Friday's no-decision

Syndergaard didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings while striking out eight.

The right-hander threw 50 of 78 pitches for strikes and generated 15 swinging strikes before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, and Syndergaard was actually in line for the loss before the Mets bailed him out in the top of the ninth. He'll take a 3.06 ERA and dominant 76:13 K:BB in 64.2 innings into his next outing Wednesday in Atlanta.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rockies' Jon Gray: Earns fifth win

Gray (5-6) allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings in a win over the Reds on Friday.

He got off to a rocky start, loading the bases and allowing two runs to score in the first inning. Gray then served up a two-run homer in the third before closing his night with three scoreless frames. The 26-year-old now has a 71:16 K:BB in 61.2 innings this season, but even Gray isn't immune from the Coors Field effect. A home start against the Giants is next on the docket.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Fans seven in Friday's no-decision

Urena didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 9-5 loss to the Nationals, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk over six innings while striking out seven.

To his credit, the 26-year-old did battle Max Scherzer to a standstill over six innings, but that didn't get him any closer to his first win of the season. Urena threw 57 of 98 pitches for strikes, while all the damage against him came from a pair of two-run homers by Michael Taylor and Matt Adams. The right-hander will carry a 4.69 ERA into his next outing Wednesday in San Diego.

  • Alex Wood RP | ATH

Dodgers' Alex Wood: Slated to start Saturday

Wood (hamstring) is listed as the Dodgers' probable starter for Saturday's game against the Padres, Ryan Walton of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

A hamstring cramp resulted in Wood departing his last outing May 20 against the Nationals after six innings, but the lefty was still credited with a second straight quality start and collected his first win of the season. More importantly, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts clarified after the game that Wood's removal was precautionary, and any follow-up examinations the southpaw may have required revealed that no injury was in play. As a result, Wood shouldn't face any limitations in his return to the bump and should make for a worthy activation in all formats while taking on a slumping Padres offense that has scored four total runs in its last three contests and owns a 26.1 percent team strikeout rate -- the third-worst mark in the majors -- entering Friday's action.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Set to throw 60 pitches in sim game

Kershaw (biceps) will throw four innings or 60 pitches in his simulated game Saturday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The Dodgers' ace is set for a significant workload in his first exposure to live hitters since landing on the DL. If everything goes smoothly for Kershaw, it seems likely that he will bypass a minor-league rehab assignment and return five days later to start the finale against the Phillies in Los Angeles.
