  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Spins six shutout innings

Ryu (6-3) allowed four hits and no walks while striking out eight across six scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday against the Padres.

Ryu surrendered only two runners to reach scoring position on the way to turning in his second consecutive scoreless effort. He has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his 14 appearances this season, helping him to a 2.00 ERA. Not only has Ryu provided solid ratio stats all season, but he has raised his K/9 to 10.1, nearly two strikeouts better than his previous career best.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Brewers' Wade Miley: Turns in short outing vs. Pirates

Miley allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out one over four innings Sunday against Pittsburgh. He didn't factor into the decision.

Miley was handed a 7-0 lead early, but he ran into trouble in the fifth inning, surrendering four runs without recording an out. The 31-year-old had been pitching well prior to Sunday's start, giving up seven runs over his previous six appearances (33.1 innings). He'll look to end the regular season on a high note Saturday against Detroit.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Whiffs eight in fourth straight win

Mikolas (17-4) tossed seven innings and earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits (one home run) while striking out eight in the victory over San Francisco.

Mikolas was terrific once again, bringing his season ERA back under 3.00 while turning in his highest single-game strikeout total since May 21. Aside from a two-run shot in the seventh by Brandon Crawford, the 30-year-old stifled the Giants all afternoon. It was also his ninth consecutive start walking fewer than two batters. Mikolas should make the final start of his incredible 2018 comeback campaign Saturday against the Cubs.

  • Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Snags win No. 13 with strong performance

Hendricks (13-11) tossed 7.2 innings of one-run ball to record the win Sunday against the White Sox. He allowed four hits and struck out five.

Hendricks displayed his typical good control, as he did not issue any walks and efficiently retired 23 batters on 103 pitches (73 for strikes). The righty has now strung together seven straight outings with two earned runs or fewer allowed, which has helped him lower his season ERA to a solid 3.49. Hendricks figures to make his final start of the season on Friday against the rival Cardinals, and he'll look to put an exclamation point on a strong finish to the year for fantasy owners.

  • Reds' Michael Lorenzen: Hit hard vs. Marlins

Lorenzen (3-2) surrendered four runs on nine hits and two walks across four innings and was saddled with the loss Sunday against Miami.

Lorenzen gave up all four runs in the third inning on two hits. He exited the game with a 4-0 deficit after throwing 41 of 65 pitches for strikes. The 22-year-old made just his second start of the 2018 campaign in the series finale, and he's slated to close out Cincinnati's season Sunday against the Pirates.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Won't start Monday

Anderson won't make his scheduled Monday against the Cardinals, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Anderson will be available if needed, but the Brewers will approach Monday's series opener as a bullpen game. He'll be lined up to make his final start of the regular season Sept. 30 against the Tigers, although that could change.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Lines up for two-start week

Syndergaard will make his next start Tuesday against the Braves and is expected to take the hill for the Mets' final game of the season Sept. 30 against the Marlins.

Though Syndergaard hasn't met expectations in the second half with a 3.75 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 11 outings, he should at least make for one of the stronger lineup options at pitcher in the final week of the season. While the Mets could add a "bullpen day" into their schedule over their final six games, Syndergaard tentatively lines up for a two-start week to conclude the campaign, with both turns coming at Citi Field.

  • Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA

Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Wraps up two-start week

Lucchesi will start Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Manager Andy Green decided to alter the Padres' pitching schedule this weekend, bumping Lucchesi ahead of Bryan Mitchell in the order to give the rookie an opportunity to pitch against a tough Dodgers squad that is in the midst of a pennant race. After pitching Sunday on four days' rest, Lucchesi will likely take the hill for the final time in 2018 next weekend at home against Arizona.

  • Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Fans career-high 10 in loss to Marlins

DeSclafani (7-7) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out 10 as the Reds fell 5-1 to the Marlins.

The right-hander didn't get much help from his offense, but the unearned runs were entirely of his own making, as he committed two errors in the fourth inning to help put the first two runs of the game on the board. The 10 strikeouts were a career high for DeSclafani, but he's been far from a fantasy asset down the stretch, posting a 6.56 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 2.0 HR/9 and 38:10 K:BB over his last 35.2 innings. He's set for one more start this season at home Saturday against the Pirates.

  • Pirates' Trevor Williams: Blanks Brewers for 14th win

Williams (14-9) picked up the win in Saturday's 3-0 victory over the Brewers, scattering four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out seven.

Milwaukee was only able to get one runner into scoring position against the 26-year-old, putting runners on first and second with two outs in the third inning, but Williams erased the threat immediately by getting Ryan Braun to ground into a fielder's choice with his next pitch. Williams has now held his opposition off the board in an astounding eight of his last 12 starts dating back to July 11, going 8-2 with a 1.00 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 54:20 K:BB in 71.2 innings over that stretch. He'll get one more chance to play spoiler in the NL playoff picture in a road outing against the Cubs on Thursday.
