  • Alex Wood RP | ATH

Reds' Alex Wood: Tosses side session

Wood (back) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Wood has been on the injured list since March 28 due to back spasms, but he fired a bullpen session Saturday and woke up Sunday morning without any issues. "A big part of it was making sure I'm waking up the next day and feeling recovered," stated Wood. "The times before, when I kind of had a setback, deep down I kind of knew that day afterward. But you never really know until the next day. I feel normal. I feel good. A good step in the right direction." The southpaw will likely throw live batting practice in the near future, assuming everything goes according to plan.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Not ready to pitch

Taillon (elbow) has yet to begin a throwing program, though he has resumed baseball activities, 93.7 The Fan reports.

General manager Neal Huntington said Taillon is feeling better but is still "a ways away, unfortunately." The team had hoped the right-hander would begin throwing after four weeks, but he continues to rest his forearm and elbow. Taillon hasn't pitched since May 1, when he beat the Rangers in Texas.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Expected to miss next start

Wainwright (hamstring) is on his way to St. Louis for further evaluation and is expected to miss at least one start, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Wainwright was lifted from Sunday's start after experiencing tightness in his left hamstring, and he's headed for further evaluation to determine the extent of the issue. Skipper Mike Shildt stated that he anticipates Wainwright missing at least one start, though he could miss more time if the injury is severe.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Nursing hamstring tightness

Wainwright was removed from Sunday's game against the Cubs due to hamstring tightness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Wainwright had to leave the game due to injury, though it remains to be seen if he'll be forced to miss any time while on the mend. He's likely headed for further testing.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Exits with injury

Wainwright exited Sunday's game against the Cubs with an apparent injury, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

It's unclear as to what kind of injury Wainwright sustained, but it was evidently significant enough to chase him from the game. He'll be considered day-to-day until more information is disclosed.

  • Pablo Lopez SP | MIN

Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Fans seven in no-decision

Lopez allowed one run on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings in Sunday's no-decision against the Braves.

Lopez gave up his lone run in the third inning on a pair of hits, and even though he pitched well enough for the victory, he didn't factor into the decision. The 23-year-old right-hander has now registered three straight quality starts, and he now owns a 4.26 ERA with 69 punchouts across 69.2 innings this season.

  • Max Fried SP | NYY

Braves' Max Fried: Delivers quality start

Fried allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings in Sunday's no-decision against the Marlins.

Fried gave up a solo home run in the first inning and two runs in the fifth on three hits, but his offense would get him off the hook for the loss by tying the game in the ninth inning. The 25-year-old lefty had struggled in each of his last two outings (nine runs over 9.2 innings), but he managed to turn things around Sunday. Fried will enter his next start with a 3.75 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 66 strikeouts through 72 frames.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Settles for no-decision

Nola allowed three runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks across 6.2 innings during a no-decision against the Reds on Sunday.

The 26-year-old couldn't quite make it through the seventh inning. He recorded the first two outs of the inning, but when he allowed a single and walk next, the Phillies went to the bullpen, which permitted both inherited runners to score. Nola got off to a really poor start this year, but despite this no-decision, he's mostly pitched much better lately, going 4-1 with a 3.48 ERA in his last nine outings. Overall, Nola is 6-1 with a 4.58 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 86 strikeouts in 76.2 innings. His next start will be at the Braves on Saturday.

  • Sonny Gray SP | BOS

    Reds' Sonny Gray: Takes no-decision

Gray allowed three runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks across 5.2 innings during a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday.

While he just missed recording an official quality start, Gray has been pitching much better, going 2-1 with a 2.38 ERA in his last four outings. He's walked 10 batters during that stretch, but he hasn't yielded any homers and has struck out 23. Overall, Gray is 2-5 with a 3.65 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 66.2 innings. He will look to continue building upon this start next Sunday at home against the Rangers.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Tosses six strong innings

Anderson allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Anderson made a key mistake in the second inning, surrendering a two-run home run to center, but he turned in a quality outing and Milwaukee would eventually emerge with the victory. The 31-year-old was hit hard in his last outing against Miami, but he managed to bounce back in the series finale. Anderson has posted a 3.80 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 46:15 K:BB over 42.2 innings.
