Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Gives up six runs in loss
DeSclafani (4-4) gave up six runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out nine through 4.1 innings to take the loss against the Brewers on Sunday.
DeSclafani struck out his season high batter count but yielded his highest run and hit totals of the season. The 29-year-old struck out the first six batters of the game and appeared to be on his way to a spectacular performance before a disastrous five-run third inning derailed his outing. The right-hander has a 4-4 record with a 4.70 ERA through 15 starts on the campaign. DeSclafani will look to get better results in his next start Sunday against the Cubs at Great American Ball Park.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: X-rays come back clean
X-rays on Soroka's forearm came back negative, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
Soroka exited Sunday's game against the Nationals after getting hit by a pitch on the right forearm, though early indications are that the young hurler escaped with a bruise. "It feels like a bruise," Soroka told 680 The Fan Atlanta. "I've been hit by enough pucks, baseballs in my lifetime to know the aftermath. It's just a bruise." Despite the good news, it remains to be seen whether Soroka will be able to make his next start on schedule. According to manager Brian Snitker, more should be known after the right-hander gets a chance to play catch in a couple of days. Prior to exiting, the 21-year-old allowed one hit and recorded one strikeout across two scoreless frames.

Braves' Mike Soroka: Exits after HBP
Soroka was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals after being hit by a pitch on the right forearm.
The Braves labeled his exit as precautionary and didn't designate a specific injury, so it may be a minor issue. The 21-year-old allowed one hit and had one strikeout over two scoreless frames before leaving the game.

Adrian Houser SP | SF
Brewers' Adrian Houser: Set to start Wednesday
Houser will start Wednesday's game versus the Mariners, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Houser was tagged for five runs over four innings in his season debut for the Brewers, but since that outing he has a 0.98 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB over 27.2 innings, with all but one appearance coming out of the bullpen. The 26-year-old has exceeded 40 pitches only once since the start of May, so he's expected to face a limited pitch count. According to McCalvy, the Brewers plan to keep Houser in the rotation beyond Wednesday, with the righty currently scheduled for two starts before the All-Star break.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Quality start streak at 11
Ryu didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Rockies, giving up three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk over six innings while striking out five.
The southpaw delivered his 11th straight quality start, throwing 70 of 107 pitches for strikes, but he checked out of the game with the score tied 3-3. Ryu has a stellar 7-0 record, 0.81 ERA and 67:4 K:BB through 78.2 innings over the course of that streak, but it could be in jeopardy when he takes the mound Thursday at Coors Field in a rematch with the Rockies.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Walks five in loss
Castillo allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits with six strikeouts and five walks across 3.2 innings while taking a loss against the Brewers on Saturday.
Not much was working for Castillo in this outing, as he allowed his most hits in a start since May 27. He has dealt with control problems all season, but the issue burned him in this one as three of his five walks came around to score. Castillo is 7-2 with a 2.56 ERA. He also has a 1.17 WHIP despite a .182 batting average against because of 49 walks in 91.1 innings. Castillo has also punched out 109 batters. He will be on the mound again at home against the Cubs next Saturday.

The 27-year-old was previously removed from the starting rotation but may receive another chance following Saturday's performance, which currently lines up for Friday versus the Marlins.
