Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Picks up 14th win
Wainwright (14-9) picked up the win against the Diamondbacks on Monday, giving up five earned runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out six and walking two as the Cardinals eventually prevailed 9-7.
Wainwright had been on a tear coming into this contest, with just one earned run to his name over his last 27 innings, and while he couldn't keep it going against Arizona, he still managed to pick up his 14th win of the season thanks to some solid run support from his offense. This wasn't his strongest stat line, but Wainwright is still enjoying a strong stretch to close out the season. Overall, he sports a 3.98 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 150:64 K:BB across 167.1 innings.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Yields three homers in loss
Eflin (9-13) allowed five runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings Monday, striking out two batters and taking the loss against Washington.
Eflin served up three solo homers Monday, one in each of the first three innings. It was the first time he allowed more than three runs in a start since July 27. Eflin's ERA bumped to 4.16 next to a 123:46 K:BB over 155.2 frames this season. He'll make his final start of the 2019 regular season at home against Miami on Saturday.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Struggles again in loss
Matz (10-10) took the loss against the Marlins on Monday, giving up six earned runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out three with no walks in an 8-4 loss for the Mets.
After getting lit up for seven earned by the Rockies in his last start, Matz had a rough go again in this contest, giving up four of his six runs in the sixth inning and eventually ending up with his 10th loss of the season. The pair of blow-ups leaves the left-hander with a 4.37 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 146:47 K:BB across 154.1 innings. He's scheduled to make one more start to close out the season in a Saturday home matchup against the Braves.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Struggles with command in win
Corbin (13-7) allowed one run on three hits and four walks over six innings Monday, striking out six batters and earning a win over the Phillies.
Corbin's line may not look too impressive but he kept Philadelphia off the scoreboard for five innings before allowing his first and only run in the sixth. After issuing four free passes Monday, he's up to 17 walks in 28 innings this month. The 30-year-old southpaw owns a 230:68 K:BB for the season. Corbin will make his final regular-season start of 2019 at home against Cleveland on Saturday.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Final outing coming Thursday
Freeland is in line to make his final start of the season Thursday against the Giants in San Francisco.
After being idle for a month with a groin issue, Freeland returned from the 10-day injured list to toss two scoreless innings in his start Saturday versus the Dodgers. Since Freeland didn't have time to re-condition his arm for a starter's workload during his rehab process, he'll be limited to around 45-to-60 pitches in his final outing of 2019. Expect Chi Chi Gonzalez to enter the contest behind Freeland and serve as a bulk reliever Thursday.

Pablo Lopez SP | MIN
Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Gives up three in no-decision
Lopez allowed three runs on six hits and had four walks to go with a strikeout over five innings during Sunday's victory over the Nationals. Lopez did not factor into the decision for a third straight outing.
This was a nice bounce-back game for Lopez after he gave up six runs and lasted just three innings against the Nationals back on Aug. 31. Lopez has been much better at home this season with a lower ERA, WHIP, BB/9 and HR/9 along with a higher K/9. The right-hander now owns a 4.96 ERA along with a 93:31 K:BB across 112 innings. He lines up to take the mound one last time this season against the Phillies on Friday.

Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Saddled with loss Sunday
Velasquez (7-8) took the loss against the Indians on Sunday, completing 4.2 innings and giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks while striking out six.
Velasquez gave up a single run through his first four innings but was done in by poor defense and a game-changing long ball in the fifth. The frame opened with a pair of errors -- one of which was committed by Velasquez himself -- and was blown open when Oscar Mercado homered to drive in three runs and break a 1-1 tie. The home run was the 25th Velasquez has surrendered in 113.1 frames this season, and his 1.99 HR/9 ranks eighth-worst in the league among pitchers with 100 or more innings. He'll carry a 4.76 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 127:43 K:BB into what's expected to be his final start of the season, a home matchup against the Marlins on Friday.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Suffers 11th loss
Senzatela (10-11) suffered the loss against the Dodgers on Sunday, pitching four innings and giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four.
Senzatela shut Los Angeles down for four innings before allowing his first run on a homer by opposing pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu leading off the fifth frame. That opened the floodgates for the Dodgers, as the following three batters reached to load the bases and chase Senzatela from the game. Jake McGee then came on in relief and allowed a grand slam to Cody Bellinger, tacking on three additional earned runs to Sentazela's ledger. The disappointing outing furthered the 24-year-old's disastrous second half in which he has posted an 11.13 ERA and 2.07 WHIP over eight starts. He'll again face a giant hurdle against ending the year on a positive note when he takes on the Brewers at Coors Field on Saturday.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Tosses quality start
Ryu (13-5) took the win against the Rockies on Sunday, hurling seven innings and giving up three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out eight.
Both runs allowed by Ryu came on homers, but the southpaw otherwise stymied Colorado to pick up his second straight quality start and first victory in over a month. As has been the case most of the season, Ryu succeeded by controlling the strike zone, throwing 65 of 95 pitches for strikes and issuing no free passes for the second straight game. He also contributed with his bat, launching the first home run of his major-league career in the fifth inning. After a four-start stretch in which he surrendered 21 runs in 19 frames, Ryu has rebounded to allow just two runs over his last 14 innings. Though his Cy Young Award candidacy has taken a hit with his late-season slump, Ryu is likely to garner some votes as he leads the majors with a 2.41 ERA while ranking sixth with a 1.02 WHIP and second with a 1.23 BB/9. He'll wrap up his regular season with a road matchup against the Giants on Saturday.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Yields two more homers
Williams (7-8) allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts across five innings while taking a loss against the Brewers on Sunday.
The right-hander was better in this one, but he gave up two more homers, which has been too common since he returned from injury in June. Over his last 16 starts since that return from the IL on June 19, Williams has tossed up 21 homers. As a result, he owns a 6.91 ERA during that stretch. Overall, Williams has a 5.52 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 108 strikeouts in 138.2 innings this season. He will end the season with a start against the Reds at home Sunday.
