Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Sparkles in two frames
Woodruff pitched two shutout innings with no hits or walks allowed while striking out three during a no-decision against the Pirates on Sunday.
The Brewers were planning for Woodruff to log between 50-to-55 pitches Sunday in his second straight back from the injured list. He only threw 38, but he couldn't have been sharper, shutting down the Pirates' slumping offense. Woodruff hasn't allowed a hit or a run in four innings since his return last Tuesday. Overall, he is 11-3 with a 3.62 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 143 strikeouts in 121.2 innings this season. Woodruff will make one more regular-season start at the Rockies on Saturday.

Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL
Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Loses second straight
Keuchel (8-7) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts across six innings while taking the loss against the Giants on Sunday.
While he pitched better Sunday, Keuchel has struggled in his last two starts, yielding seven earned runs in his last 11 frames. Prior to these struggles, Keuchel had won five of six starts and posted an ERA under 1.00 during that stretch. Overall, he owns a 3.59 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 87 strikeouts in 107.2 innings this season. Keuchel is scheduled to make one more regular-season start at the Mets on Sunday.

His best outing of the season, this performance helped Webb drop his ERA nearly a full run. He is 2-2 with a 5.61 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 32 strikeouts in 33.2 innings this season. Webb lines up to make his last start of the year Saturday at home against the Dodgers.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Strikes out 10 in no-decision
Ray allowed four runs on three hits and four walks over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out 10 batters in the loss to San Diego. He did not factor into the decision.
Ray kept the Padres' bats quiet for the first three innings before coughing up a two-run shot to Ty France in the fourth inning. He was then charged with two more runs in the sixth after he was lifted from the contest. The 27-year-old lefty set a new career high with 225 strikeouts over 168.1 frames. Ray will carry a 4.28 ERA into Saturday's rematch against San Diego at home.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Cubs' Yu Darvish: Whiffs 12 in tough-luck loss
Darvish (6-8) allowed three runs on seven hits over 8.1 innings Sunday, striking out 12 and taking the loss against the Cardinals.
Darvish entered the ninth inning holding a 2-1 lead but quickly allowed two runs and was hit with a tough loss while the Cubs have almost vanished in the wild-card race. On the bright side, he owns an insane 124:7 K:BB over his last 14 starts. The 33-year-old will carry a 3.98 ERA into Saturday's rematch in St. Louis.

Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Yields two runs in no-decision
Mikolas allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk over 7.2 innings Sunday, striking out four in the win over the Cubs. He did not factor in the decision.
The Cubs tacked on a run in the first inning on a passed ball, but the only earned run to score on Mikolas came from a Nicholas Castellanos solo shot in the sixth. The Cardinals needed a ninth-inning rally to pick up the win so the 31-year-old starter had to settle with a no-decision. However, it was his longest start since a complete game July 15. Mikolas will take the mound at home against the Cubs on Saturday for his last regular-season start of 2019.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Mets' Marcus Stroman: Dealing with nausea
Stroman only pitched 4.2 innings Sunday and was supposedly dealing with nausea during his outing which could've explained his abbreviated start, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Stroman was already at 86 pitches through just 4.2 innings pitched, so he was bound to come out soon regardless of how he felt. The right-hander was dealing with some nausea and was unable to finish out the fifth inning against the Reds. The Mets' bullpen handled the work after Stroman smoothly, allowing just three hits and one run through the remainder of the game. The 28-year-old is expected to make his final start of the season, barring a Mets comeback in the wild-card race, Friday at home versus the Braves.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Reds' Kevin Gausman: Over illness
Gausman (illness) rejoined the Reds and will be available out of the bullpen for Sunday's game against the Mets, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Gausman was one of at least five Reds players who was sent home ahead of Saturday's contest while battling flu-like symptoms. Only Gausman will return to action ahead of the series finale, but the other ill players should benefit from the team off day coming Monday. Gausman's last appearance came as a starter back on Sept. 16, but the Reds' current pitching schedule doesn't call for him to make any additional turns through the rotation during the final week of the season.

Cole Hamels SP | SD
Cubs' Cole Hamels: Cleared for catch
Hamels (shoulder) was spotted playing catch on the field Sunday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
The throwing session was Hamels' first since he was shut down with left shoulder fatigue following his Sept. 16 start. The Cubs haven't decided when or if Hamels will re-enter the rotation at any point during its six-game, season-ending road trip during the upcoming week. Before developing the injury, Hamels had posted a 7.36 ERA and 2.15 WHIP over his last eight starts. Chicago may prefer to stay away from the struggling Hamels over the final week of the season while the team's playoff hopes hang in the balance.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Padres' Cal Quantrill: Yields one run in no-decision
Quantrill did not factor into the decision against Arizona on Saturday, working five innings and giving up one run on two hits and no walks while striking out six.
The 24-year-old surrendered a leadoff triple that was cashed in for a run on a sacrifice fly, but he clamped down to retire 15 of the final 16 batters he faced before departing after the fifth inning. Quantrill entered the game having allowed 28 runs in 16.2 innings over his last four appearances, so Saturday's effective outing was a much-needed return to the form that saw him post a 1.69 ERA across four starts in July. Quantrill will look to end the season on a positive note when he heads to Arizona for a rematch against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
