  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Takes no-decision

Kershaw took a no-decision during Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and a pair of walks while striking out three across five innings.

It wasn't quite the same outing Kershaw put together against Arizona last week when he blanked the Diamondbacks across six innings. Of course, this start came at Chase Field, where the 32-year-old has experienced a fair share of struggles with a 7-9 career record. While Kershaw's three strikeouts were a season low, he still holds an impressive 44:8 K:BB overall. The southpaw will look for his sixth win of the season Tuesday at San Diego.

  • Tyler Anderson SP | LAA

Giants' Tyler Anderson: Hurls six scoreless frames

Anderson (2-3) earned the win Wednesday after holding the Mariners scoreless across six innings. He allowed three hits and a walk while striking out four.

The southpaw snapped a two-game losing streak to pick up his second win of the season. Anderson threw 65-of-100 pitches for strikes while blanking the Mariners across six innings. It was the fourth time this season that Anderson did not allow a run. The 30-year-old will look to continue improving upon a 4.50 ERA and 1.35 WHIP during a rematch at Seattle on Tuesday.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Struggles with control in loss

Senzatela (3-2) allowed four earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two across five innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Padres.

Senzatela got off to a shaky start, allowing a hit to three of the first four batters he faced -- including a two-run homer. Things got better from there, though he lost his control when he came back out for the sixth inning as he walked two and also allowed a single and triple. That resulted in the additional runs against him, ruining his otherwise solid outing. Even after this effort, he's maintained a 3.69 ERA with a 33:11 K:BB across 53.2 frames for the season. Senzatela will take his next turn through the rotation Wednesday against the Athletics.

  • Pirates' JT Brubaker: Gives up seven in loss

Brubaker (1-1) pitched 5.1 innings on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on seven hits while striking out five, as the Pirates fell to the White Sox 8-1.

Making his sixth start and coming off a five-inning, victorious outing in his previous appearance, Brubaker was unable to replicate the success on Wednesday. He tossed 98 pitches with 66 strikes but was constantly navigating through jams. In the bigger picture, Pittsburgh represents one of the least desirable fantasy situations in the league.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Pitches well but takes loss

Darvish (7-2) allowed three earned runs across six innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Reds. He gave up two hits and three walks, while striking out nine.

Darvish was good but starting pitcher counterpart Trevor Bauer was better, as the latter combined with two relievers to shut out the Cubs. This was the first time in his last eight starts that Darvish has allowed more than a single earned run, and the Japanese righty still has a sparkling 1.77 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 72:11 K:BB through 56 innings this season. Those numbers put Darvish squarely in the National League Cy Young race, and he'll look to keep up the strong work in his next outing, which is scheduled for Tuesday against Cleveland.

  • Zach Davies SP | WAS

Padres' Zach Davies: Reaches seven wins

Davies (7-2) allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight across six innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Rockies.

Davies turned in a baseline quality start while racking up a season-best eight strikeouts. He did so on the strength of 14 swinging strikes and 19 called strikes across 99 total pitches. After this performance, Davies has yet to allow more than three earned runs in any of his nine starts this season. He has a 2.48 ERA to show for it, also putting up a 50:15 K:BB across 54.1 innings. Davies will look to keep things going his next turn in the rotation, currently projected to come Monday against the Dodgers.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Tosses 25 pitches

Taillon (elbow) threw 25 pitches at the Pirates' alternate training site Wednesday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Taillon isn't expected to return to game action before the 2021 season as he continues to recover from his second Tommy John surgery. The right-hander has appeared to shorten his arm action recently, creating optimism that he could still pitch for the Pirates following his return to full health.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Tosses three practice innings

Keller (oblique) threw 43 pitches over three innings during a live batting practice session Wednesday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Keller didn't face any setbacks after throwing 35 pitches Friday, and his return could be coming soon if he doesn't experience any issues following Wednesday's session. The right-hander has been sidelined for over a month with a left oblique strain, but he could get some work in over the final few weeks of the regular season.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Reds' Wade Miley: Throws side session

Miley (shoulder) threw a side session Wednesday that went well, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Miley has been working his way back from a left shoulder strain that has kept him sidelined since Aug. 28. He threw a simulated game Friday, and manager David Bell said that he should return to the team soon following his successful side session. It's unclear when he'll take the mound for the Reds, but the southpaw's return appears to be imminent.

  • Corbin Burnes SP | ARI

Brewers' Corbin Burnes: Whiffs 11 over seven shutout frames

Burnes (3-0) earned the win Wednesday against the Tigers after recording 11 strikeouts and giving up one hit and zero walks over seven scoreless innings.

The 25-year-old allowed a one-out triple to Willi Castro during the fifth inning, but he stranded him at third base and that would be the only baserunner he'd surrender all afternoon. Burnes has a 1.99 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 64:19 K:BB through 45.1 innings and will have a matchup with the Cardinals early next week.
