Martinez (3-5) lasted only two-thirds of an inning against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing 10 runs on six hits and four walks while striking out one to take the loss.

The right-hander suffered the worst outing of his career against a relentless Dodgers attack. He allowed the first eight batters he faced to reach base before opposing pitcher Walker Buehler mercifully struck out on a foul bunt attempt, and Martinez was pulled three batters later after issuing his fourth walk. The 10 runs he allowed were the most in his nine-year career, and the disastrous appearance raised his season ERA from 4.22 to 5.83. Martinez entered the game having posted five quality starts in his past six contests, so there's little chance that the blowup will affect his rotation security. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday at home against Cleveland.

Buehler (4-0) earned the win over St. Louis on Wednesday, pitching six innings and allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight.

The outing won't go down as one of Buehler's best this season -- he allowed three runs for the first time in four starts -- but it was more than adequate to secure a victory in a game during which Los Angeles put up 11 first-inning runs. The right-hander ran his record to a perfect 4-0 and extended his streak of regular-season starts without a loss to 19, the longest in the majors. He has posted a 2.82 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 70:13 K:BB across 70.1 innings this season to further cement his place among the league's top starters. Buehler's next start is expected to come at Pittsburgh next week.

Senzatela (2-5) allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out three across 7.2 innings, earning the win over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Senzatela surrendered three doubles, leading to three runs. However, only one run was charged against him due to a fielding error prior to a pair of runs crossing the plate in the sixth inning. The 26-year-old has a mediocre 4.47 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP, although eight of his 11 starts have come at Coors Field. He isn't a strong strikeout candidate, posting a low 5.3 K/9. His next start is scheduled for Tuesday in Miami.

Peterson gave up five runs on three hits and three walks in one-third of an inning Wednesday versus Arizona. He did not factor in the decision.

It was a nightmarish start for the southpaw, who wasted the Mets' four-run burst of offense in the first inning. Peterson's two shortest appearances of the season have been against Arizona -- he lasted only 1.2 innings May 7. He now owns a 5.89 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 49:20 K:BB through 44.1 innings this year. Peterson projects for a start versus Baltimore next week.

Strasburg was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a neck strain, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

The 32-year-old was pulled from Tuesday's start in Atlanta after 30 pitches due to tightness in his right trapezius muscle, and an MRI revealed a neck strain. Strasburg remains without an official timeline for return, but he'll likely spend more than the 10-day minimum on the shelf should he be shut down from throwing for more than a couple days. Speaking earlier Wednesday, manager Dave Martinez noted that the two Triple-A Rochester starters on the 40-man roster -- Rogelio Armenteros and Ben Braymer -- are candidates to make a spot start Sunday against the Phillies in place of Strasburg. However, Erick Fedde (illness), who is making a rehab start Thursday at High-A Wilmington, will likely fill any additional turns Strasburg might miss once he comes off the COVID-19 IL.

Teng was one of four minor-league pitchers who received a 10-game suspension last week after being caught using illegal foreign substances to doctor baseballs, Jake Seiner of the Associated Press reports.

Teng has made five starts for High-A Eugene this season, posting a 5.03 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 19.2 innings.

Gutierrez is scheduled to make his second career start Thursday against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Gutierrez had been in line to get the ball for Wednesday's series finale versus Philadelphia, but those plans were dashed due to a rainout in Cincinnati. The Reds would have had the luxury of reordering their rotation after the postponement, but manager David Bell has opted to instead push each of his five starters back a day in the schedule. Luis Castillo, Tyler Mahle and Wade Miley are scheduled to start the final three contests of the four-game series in St. Louis.

Anderson is no longer scheduled to start Thursday's series finale against the Nationals and will instead take the hill for Friday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Anderson will return to the mound on five days' rest after he labored through four innings in his most recent start May 29 against the Mets. He gave up a season-high-tying four runs on seven hits -- including two home runs -- and a walk while striking out six to take his second loss of the season. Atlanta will hope that Anderson can get back on track with the extra day of rest, though the 23-year-old will draw a tougher matchup while he moves back a day in the schedule.

Brubaker (personal) isn't included on the Pirates' pitching schedule for the team's four-game series with the Marlins that begins Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

After placing Brubaker on the bereavement list Sunday, the Pirates apparently aren't counting on their No. 1 starter rejoining the team before the weekend. Chase De Jong, who made a spot start Sunday against the Rockies, will receive another turn through the rotation while Brubaker is away. Expect the team to provide an update on Brubaker's situation within the next few days. The 27-year-old has been Pittsburgh's top starter this season with a 3.74 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 9.1 K/9 through 10 outings.

Cabrera (biceps) threw 35 pitches over two innings in an extended spring training game Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

After he faced hitters in live batting practice last week, Cabrera was expected to repeat the activity this week, but the Marlins opted to turn him loose in a controlled game setting instead. Assuming Cabrera's right biceps feels fine coming out of Tuesday's outing, the Marlins could begin to etch out a minor-league rehab assignment for the right-hander. Once he's built up his pitch count for starting duty, Cabrera will likely be included in the Triple-A Jacksonville rotation.
