Nola surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings during Tuesday's 9-5 loss to Atlanta. He had seven strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

The 28-year-old generated 15 swings-and-misses and threw 62 of 89 pitches for strikes Tuesday, but he served up two homers and struggled to keep Atlanta off the basepaths. Nola has a 4.06 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 85:17 K:BB across 75.1 innings this season.

Smyly allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings during Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Phillies. He had zero strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

The 31-year-old threw 48 of 80 pitches for strikes and generated only five swinging strikes. Smyly is winless in his past four starts and has given up 16 runs (15 earned) with a 17:7 K:BB across 20 innings during that stretch.

Peterson (1-5) took the loss Tuesday at Baltimore after giving up four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and a walk over 2.2 innings.

The left-hander delivered a scoreless opening frame but ended up requiring 69 pitches to record only eight total outs. The 25-year-old recorded only a single out in his previous start, and he's now failed to cover four frames in four of 11 starts this season. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, manager Luis Rojas said Peterson will remain in the rotation for at least one more turn despite his recent struggles, and that start tentatively lines up for early next week against the Cubs.

Davies (3-3) won Tuesday's 7-1 victory over San Diego, allowing no runs on a hit and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Pitching against his former team, Davies recorded more strikeouts than baserunners allowed for the first time this season. He's pitched extremely well of late with a 2.18 ERA over his last eight starts. He's allowed one run or less in five of those eight starts.

Martinez (3-6) allowed five earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven across four innings, taking the loss to Cleveland on Tuesday.

Martinez struggled again after having a historically bad outing in his previous start. He allowed two runs right away in the first inning. In the third inning, Martinez surrendered a three-run home run to Jose Ramirez. However, he had a season-high seven punchouts. The 29-year-old's ERA has risen to 6.21 in 58 innings. In his last 4.2 innings, he has 15 earned runs. He will try to turn the tide in his next start Sunday against the Cubs.

Wood allowed four earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two across 5.1 innings Tuesday against the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Wood limited the Rangers for much of his start, but he fell apart in the sixth inning to spoil the effort. He began the frame by walking two of the first three batters he faced and was pulled after surrendering a double to bring one runner home. The two inherited runners were also allowed to score. As a result, Wood has now allowed 15 earned runs across his last 15 innings in the span of three starts, inflating his ERA to 3.79 for the season.

Gallen (elbow) threw a 32-pitch simulated game Monday and is scheduled for a bullpen session Wednesday or Thursday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old resumed mound work at the end of May and continues progressing through his throwing program. Assuming all goes well during the bullpen session, Gallen will throw in another simulated game this weekend. The right-hander should continue ramping up his workload and could rejoin the rotation by the end of June.

Brubaker (4-5) was charged with the loss against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six across 4.2 innings.

After four strong frames, Brubaker was lifted in the fifth despite a decent showing against a loaded Dodgers lineup. The right-hander's fifth-inning troubles arose after Gavin Lux singled and advanced to third on a two-base error. AJ Pollock then swatted an RBI double, followed by an RBI triple by Mookie Betts. That's where the night would end for Brubaker, with two outs and a runner on third who would soon score on the bullpen's behalf. Overall, the 27-year-old threw 80 pitches, including 50 for strikes. On the season, Brubaker has compiled a 3.90 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. He's tentatively scheduled for a road start at Milwaukee on Sunday.

Gray was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Brewers due to tightness in his right groin, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The right-hander struck out five over three scoreless frames before he was pulled after experiencing tightness while warming up for the fourth inning. Gray will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury, leaving his status for his next turn through the rotation up in the air.

Buehler (5-0) earned the win Tuesday after blanking the Pirates across seven innings. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Despite an uncharacteristically season-low two punchouts, it was another gem of a performance for Buehler, who blanked his opponent for the third time this season while pitching at least seven innings for the fifth time. The 26-year-old did have a close call in the first frame after Ke'Bryan Hayes swatted a foul pole-hugging solo home run, which was reversed after the official replay review showed Hayes failing to tag first base. With the win, Buehler extends his streak of regular-season starts without a loss to 20, the longest in the majors, while his WHIP of 0.91 checks in at 11th overall. Buehler lines up to make his next start at home Sunday against Texas.
