Wainwright (4-5) allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out six across seven innings, earning the win over Cleveland on Wednesday.

Wainwright struggled to get going in the first inning, surrendering a pair of runs on three hits. However, the veteran was dominant from there, retiring every batter he faced through the next six innings except Bradley Zimmer in the fifth frame when Wainwright struck him with a pitch. The 39-year-old has turned in many solid performances like this one in 2021, although a couple got away from him as well. He has a 4.03 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 73.2 innings.

Walker (5-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Orioles after tossing seven innings of one-run ball, giving up five hits and a walk while fanning nine.

Walker had gone three straight outings without pitching more than five complete innings, but he was lights out in this one and tamed the Orioles with ease. The right-hander has now allowed one or fewer runs in five of his last six starts and has reduced his ERA to an impressive 2.07 as a result. He will attempt to carry over his strong form into his next start, scheduled for next week at home against the Cubs.

Corbin pitched five innings against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three. He did not factor in the decision.

Corbin didn't have his best stuff in the outing -- he threw only 50 of 93 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four walks -- but he limited the damage by holding the Rays to three hits. The southpaw has been mediocre but consistent over his past five outings, pitching between 5.0 and 5.2 innings and giving up either three of our four runs in each contest. He holds a 6.21 ERA overall this season, second worst among all qualified starters. His next start will likely come at home against Pittsburgh early next week.

Suarez (2-0) earned the win in relief Wednesday against Atlanta after tossing three scoreless innings, fanning three.

Suarez had a daunting task since he had to pitch following an impressive six-inning outing from Zach Eflin, but he looked dominant out of the bullpen and secured his second win of the campaign. The left-hander has been stellar this season and has yet to give up a run in 11 appearances (20.1 innings).

Eflin didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Atlanta despite tossing six innings of one-run ball, giving up eight hits and two walks while fanning seven.

Eflin has gone winless over his last five outings, but this start was a clear step in the right direction since he had allowed three or more runs in three of his four starts prior to this game against Atlanta. Despite the subpar 2-5 record, Eflin still owns a strong 3.89 ERA across 74 innings (12 starts) and will aim for his next win when he next takes the ball against the Dodgers on the road.

Garrett (0-1) allowed two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Rockies.

Garrett drew the start due to the depleted state of the Marlins rotation. He limited runs to a reasonable degree, but he allowed multiple baserunners in three of the four innings he pitched. Garrett has thrown only 14.2 major-league innings, during which he's allowed 10 earned runs while posting a 13:9 K:BB. He could have the chance to take at least one more turn through the rotation depending on the recovery timeline of several injured Marlins starters.

Anderson (3-6) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings but took the loss versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for Anderson, his two biggest mistakes left the yard off the bat of Justin Turner. Beyond those two homers, the southpaw was decent but not spectacular. He completed six innings for the first time since May 9 and just the fourth time in 12 starts overall. For the year, he has a 4.52 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 61:19 K:BB across 67.2 innings. Anderson lines up for a favorable start in Washington next week.

Gonsolin (shoulder) allowed a run on two hits and five walks with four strikeouts in 1.2 innings versus Pittsburgh on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.

Gonsolin was expected to be on a workload limit, but he made life difficult for himself by throwing only 33 of his 66 pitches for strikes in the abbreviated outing. He also allowed an RBI single to Gregory Polanco, which was Pittsburgh's only run in the contest. Gonsolin will likely remain on a pitch count for a bit longer. He'll look to improve his command in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next week versus Philadelphia.

Gomber (5-5) allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks while striking out five across five innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Marlins.

Gomber's lone run allowed came in the fifth inning, when he surrendered a pair of singles. He was strong otherwise, primarily based on his ability to keep the ball on the ground. Gomber has now allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last six starts, and he has worked at least five innings in all but one of those outings. For the season, he now has a 3.95 ERA with a 71:23 K:BB across 68.1 frames.

Gutierrez (2-1) allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out seven across seven innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Brewers.

This was the deepest that Gutierrez has worked into any of his three big-league starts and it was also his most impressive from a skills perspective. After striking out three batters in both of his first two starts, he racked up seven punchouts backed by 13 swinging strikes on 102 total pitches. He further limited the damage by generating eight groundouts and holding the Brewers to just one extra-base hit. With both Sonny Gray (groin) and Jeff Hoffman (shoulder) sidelined, Gutierrez should have a chance to stick in the rotation for the time being.
