Corbin (6-9) allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out four in 5.1 innings to take the loss against the Orioles on Friday.

Corbin tossed three scoreless frames to begin Friday's contest, but he struggled to contain the Orioles' offense after the third inning. The southpaw picked up a win in his final start before the All-Star break, but he's now given up at least five runs in each of his last two outings, and he's been charged with losses in four of his last five appearances. Corbin tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Fried (7-6) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Phillies after allowing four runs on six hits and four walks while fanning six across five innings.

Fried was coming off a seven-inning gem in his previous start against Tampa Bay, but he couldn't carry that momentum into this outing and he's now given up at least three runs in three of his last four appearances. The fact that he has failed to pitch more than five innings in three of those outings doesn't bode well for his upside, either. He has obviously been trending in the wrong direction of late after beginning the season on a strong note. He posted a 2.51 ERA over an eight-start stretch between May 5 and June 18, but he owns a 5.00 ERA over his last five appearances.

Houser (6-5) allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the White Sox.

Houser followed starter Freddy Peralta in the contest, and the former was able to vulture a win in a game Milwaukee more or less dominated. This was just the second relief appearance in 19 outings this season for Houser. He has a 3.88 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 74:42 K:BB through 92.2 innings. He will likely slot back into the rotation next week when Milwaukee has six games scheduled -- to maintain regular rest, his next expected start shouldn't be considered likely to come before Wednesday, although it's possible since he threw just 28 pitches in Friday's appearance.

Peralta allowed a hit and two walks while striking out five over four scoreless innings versus the White Sox on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

It took a week for Peralta to make his first start since the All-Star break, and the right-hander only threw 51 pitches (32 strikes) Friday. He was followed by Adrian Houser, who earned the win after completing the fifth inning with Milwaukee leading. Innings management could be a factor for Peralta the rest of the way, but he's been excellent when on the mound with a 2.29 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 140:46 K:BB through 102 innings. The 25-year-old tentatively lines up to face Atlanta next weekend, but he could move into a more favorable matchup versus Pittsburgh if Houser doesn't receive a start next week.

Davies (6-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight in 5.1 innings to earn the win against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Davies returned to the win column for the first time in nearly a month after he was forced to settle for a pair of losses and a pair of no-decisions in his last four starts. He got plenty of run support from the Cubs' offense in the 8-3 victory, and he's now allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last six appearances. The right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Reds on Wednesday.

Gallen (1-5) allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five in four innings to take the loss against the Cubs on Friday.

Gallen allowed just one run in 5.2 innings during his return to the mound Saturday, but he fared considerably worse at Wrigley Field on Friday as he gave up a season-high seven runs. The right-hander hasn't earned a win since April 25, and he's now been charged with losses in five of his last nine outings. Gallen will attempt to bounce back in his next start, and he tentatively lines up to take the mound at home against the Dodgers on Friday.

Flaherty (oblique) could begin a rehab assignment within a week, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Flaherty threw two bullpen sessions this week, and he's expected to throw another side session in the coming days. The right-hander's first rehab outing is expected to be a brief, one-inning appearance, but it's encouraging to see him close to facing live hitters.

DeGrom (forearm) played catch again Friday but has yet to advance to mound work, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

DeGrom has battled multiple nagging injuries throughout the year, though you wouldn't know it when looking at his 1.08 ERA and 0.55 WHIP through 15 starts. He's in the middle of his longest absence thus far, and while the fact that he's yet to throw off a mound means his return to game action isn't imminent, it's certainly a positive that he continues to be able to throw in some capacity.

Strasburg experienced discomfort in his neck again following Wednesday's bullpen session and will back off his throwing program, Maria Torres of The Athletic reports.

Strasburg suffered a minor setback in mid-July and backed off mound work briefly, though he was still able to play catch and got back on the mound not long later. A second setback in such a short span of time will likely lead the Nationals to be more cautious this time around, though the team is still determining what to do next. It's possible this pause winds up being another brief one, but nothing in Strasburg's extensive injury history suggests that optimism is warranted.

Gutierrez was recalled by the Reds on Friday.

Gutierrez was optioned Tuesday but is allowed to return just three days later with Nick Castellanos (wrist) landing on the injured list. Gutierrez has been a starter in all 10 of his big-league appearances to date as well as in each of his 76 career minor-league outings, but it's unclear if he'll rejoin the Reds' rotation or serve as a bullpen option. Jeff Hoffman returned from a shoulder injury Wednesday and could potentially remain the team's fifth starter.
