Darvish allowed four runs on three hits and three hits over 5.1 innings Thursday against San Francisco. He had seven strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.

Darvish was staked to a 4-0 lead in the first inning but couldn't make it stick. He gave up a two-run homer to Mike Yastrzemski in the second inning and was charged with two more runs when Tim Hill served up a three-run homer to Austin Slater in the sixth immediately after relieving Darvish. Darvish has alternated two good starts with three poor ones during his five September appearances, putting up a 6.48 ERA across 25 innings in that stretch.

Castillo (9-15) allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six across six innings, taking the loss to the Nationals on Thursday.

Castillo surrendered a solo home run to Juan Soto in the sixth inning and he didn't receive any run support from his offense. After struggling for much of the season, Castillo is averaging less than two runs allowed per start over his last seven outings. The 28-year-old has a 4.05 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 187 punchouts in 182.1 innings this season.

Webb lasted only four innings Thursday against the Padres, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks in a no-decision. He had three strikeouts.

Webb gave up all four of his runs in the first inning, hitting a batter and allowing three hits, two walks and a sacrifice fly in the frame. He was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the top of the fifth with his pitch count already at 78, just 44 of them strikes. Webb, who is 10-3 on the year with a 3.04 ERA and 144:34 K:BB in 136.1 innings, draws a favorable home matchup with the Diamondbacks next Tuesday.

Corbin (9-15) fired 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and four walks while striking out seven to earn the win over the Reds on Thursday.

Corbin didn't give up any runs for just the second time this season. The only extra-base hit he allowed was a double by Delino DeShields. Prior to Thursday, he'd been roughed up for a 7.96 ERA and 1.92 WHIP in 26 innings over his previous five starts. The 31-year-old has a 5.92 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 134 strikeouts in 165.2 innings this season.

Morton allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings Thursday against Arizona. He also had eight strikeouts but did not factor in the decision.

The 37-year-old limited the Diamondbacks to a single run through six innings but finally ran into trouble in the seventh, allowing consecutive base hits to open the frame before reliever Jacob Webb served up a three-run homer to Carson Kelly. Still, the end result was Morton's fourth quality start in his last five outings, and his best strikeout total in four September appearances. Morton, who is 13-6 with a 3.53 ERA and 203 strikeouts in 176 innings this season, is slated to face Philadelphia at home next Wednesday.

Wainwright surrendered five runs on four hits and a pair of walks while striking out one batter across four innings during Thursday's win over the Brewers. He did not factor into the decision.

It was the second shortest outing of the season for Wainwright dating back to his first start April 3. The 40-year-old's biggest nemesis of the game proved to be Tyrone Taylor, who hit a grand slam in the first inning and a solo homer in the fourth, accounting for all the damage charged to Wainwright. Fortunately, his offense came through with the win. The right-hander has compiled a 3.05 ERA and 1.04 WHIP overall and lines up for a rematch with the Brewers at home next week.

Houser allowed one run on five hits and a pair of walks while striking out three across six innings during Thursday's loss to the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Aside from an RBI single by Yadier Molina in the fifth inning, Houser pieced together a solid outing to earn himself a quality start. It was a nice bounce-back performance after getting tagged for five runs (four earned) across four innings versus the Cubs last time out. The 28-year-old has compiled a sturdy 3.34 ERA and 1.29 WHIP overall this season.

Sanchez was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Sanchez was sent to Lehigh Valley at the end of July, and he posted a 4.93 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 34.2 innings across eight minor-league appearances since then. He'll serve as a low-leverage reliever for the Phillies after right-hander Matt Moore (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Sanchez will be available during Sunday's bullpen game, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Lopez (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Lopez tossed a bullpen Tuesday, and he'll return to game action for the first time since his first rehab assignment was shut down in late August. The right-hander is expected to throw a couple innings Thursday and won't have enough time to build back up to a starter's workload prior to the end of the season. It's not yet clear whether the Marlins will activate him as a reliever for the final few games of the 2021 campaign, but Lopez should be able to have a relatively normal offseason.

Carrasco (thumb) is listed as the Mets' probable pitcher for Sunday's game against the Brewers in Milwaukee.

Carrasco had been in line to start Saturday, but because of a team off day Thursday, the Mets will be able to tinker with their pitching schedule. Though Carrasco looks like he'll be fine after he jammed his right thumb in his last outing Sept. 18 against the Phillies, he'll get an extra day to recover from the injury with Rich Hill flipping spots with the right-hander in the rotation. Over his last six starts, Carrasco has gone 1-2 with a 3.51 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB in 33.1 innings.
