  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Strikes out six in loss

Perez (0-2) took the loss against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Perez allowed a run in the first inning and was charged with two more before failing to escape the fifth. While the 22-year-old has yet to complete five frames in any of his three starts since debuting June 9, he threw 58 of 89 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs and touched 100 mph twice with his fastball. He'll carry a 6.17 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, and 11:7 K:BB across 11.2 innings into a tough matchup with the Diamondbacks next weekend.

  • Grant Holmes SP | ATL

Braves' Grant Holmes: Mixed results in win

Holmes (4-6) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing five hits and five walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 scoreless innings.

Holmes kept the Marlins off the board despite issuing a season-high five walks, with all 13 of his swinging strikes coming on the slider. While the 29-year-old has just two wins over his past 10 starts, he's allowed three earned runs or fewer in nine of those outings. He'll take a 3.71 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 97:39 K:BB across 85 innings into a road matchup with the Mets next week.

  • Landen Roupp SP | SF

Giants' Landen Roupp: Goes six scoreless in win

Roupp (5-5) earned the win against the Red Sox on Saturday, allowing three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Roupp threw 56 of 90 pitches for strikes and generated 13 whiffs, including nine with his curveball. It was a nice rebound after the 26-year-old gave up six runs against the Dodgers in his previous outing June 14, and he's now delivered at least six scoreless frames in four separate starts this season. He'll carry a 3.67 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 70:32 K:BB across 76 innings into a road matchup with the White Sox next weekend.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Tagged with tough loss

Keller (1-10) took the loss against the Rangers on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out five across 5.2 innings.

Keller turned in another good performance and was one out shy from recording his 12th quality start of the season, but he still came away with the loss as the Pirates' hitters were unable to generate enough run support. Keller hasn't won a game since March 28 against the Marlins, and he has received two or fewer runs of support in 10 straight games. He is tied with Antonio Senzatela for the most losses in MLB this season, and Keller will hope to get back into the win column in his next start, tentatively slated for next week at home against the Mets.

  • Jose Quintana SP | MIL

Brewers' Jose Quintana: Stingy in Saturday's win

Quintana (5-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 9-0 rout of the Twins, allowing three hits and four walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out only one.

The veteran lefty wasn't dominant, generating just four swinging strikes among his 90 pitches (52 total strikes), but Quintana got plenty of weak contact after the Brewers staked him to a 4-0 lead through two innings. The quality start was his third of the season, and Quintana will take a 2.98 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 36:25 K:BB through 54.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Rockies.

  • Mets' Blade Tidwell: Sent down to Syracuse

The Mets optioned Tidwell to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Tidwell gave up two runs in 3.2 innings during his second major-league start Friday, but he still owns a 9.82 ERA and 2.59 WHIP in the bigs this year. He'll head back to Triple-A to clear a rotation spot in preparation for Frankie Montas' (lat) upcoming return from the injured list Tuesday, though the Mets will first bring up Chris Devenski and Tyler Zuber to provide extra depth in the bullpen.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

Braves' Chris Sale: Shelved with rib fracture

Atlanta placed Sale on the 15-day injured list with a fractured left ribcage Saturday.

Sale made a diving play in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Mets and damaged his ribs in the process, resulting in his placement on the IL for the first time this season. He'll be eligible to return from the IL in early July, though it's likely he'll need more than a minimum-length stay. Austin Cox was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to give Atlanta extra bullpen depth in the short term, and the team will likely keep rookie Didier Fuentes in the rotation until Sale is ready to return from the shelf.

  • Shota Imanaga SP | CHC

Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Making next start in majors

Manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Imanaga (hamstring) will return from the 15-day injured list to make his next start with the Cubs sometime next week, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

The skipper didn't say exactly what day Imanaga will return from the IL, but the 31-year-old southpaw will most likely start at some point during the Cubs' upcoming series in St. Louis. Imanaga didn't allow a run in 10.1 innings across three rehab outings in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and at Triple-A Iowa. He most recently pitched Friday for Iowa, striking out eight batters over 4.1 shutout frames while building up to 72 pitches.

  • Didier Fuentes SP | ATL

Braves' Didier Fuentes: Allows four runs in debut

Fuentes (0-1) took the loss after throwing five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three during Friday's 6-2 loss to the Marlins.

Fuentes' rapid rise through the Atlanta minor-league system culminated with his first career MLB start Friday. He displayed his electric stuff and picked up his first MLB strikeout in the second inning against Dane Myers, and Fuentes ended up battling his way through five innings. The big blemish was a three-run home run surrendered to Agustin Ramirez, but otherwise it was a good debut for the 20-year-old right-hander. The expectation is that this was just a spot start to give all of the starters an extra day of rest, so he'll likely be sent back down to the minors soon.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Mets' Sean Manaea: Sharp in Friday's rehab outing

Manaea (oblique) struck out seven over 5.1 innings for Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, allowing one earned run on two hits without walking a batter.

In his first rehab appearance for Syracuse, Manaea piggybacked starter Brandon Sproat and got stretched out to 62 pitches (45 strikes). The performance was a marked improvement on Manaea's first few rehab starts at High-A Brooklyn, as he gave up seven runs in 6.2 innings with an 8:3 K:BB. The 33-year-old southpaw will likely need at least one more rehab outing to push his pitch count a little higher, but he appears on track to return from the 60-day injured list to make his 2025 debut with the Mets at the beginning of July.
