Flaherty (shoulder) threw 25 pitches while facing live hitters Thursday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Flaherty was facing hitters for the first time Thursday, and he was able to utilize his full arsenal of pitches during the throwing session. Assuming the right-hander feels good following Thursday's live BP, he'll likely be in the mix to begin a minor-league rehab assignment soon.

Woodford was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.

Woodford has been in the minors the past 10 days but will return to St. Louis with Jordan Hicks (forearm) headed to the injured list. According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, he will initially be available out of the bullpen but should be in the mix to fill Hicks' spot in the rotation early next week. Woodford has appeared in seven big-league games this season and has a 2.08 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 9:6 K:BB across 13 innings.

Keller allowed one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out two across 3.1 innings Wednesday against the Rockies.

Keller entered the game in the fourth inning after Zach Thompson was hit hard to begin the game. It was the second consecutive appearance out of the bullpen for Keller, and he's allowed two earned runs across five innings while posting a 6:3 K:BB. The Pirates have a day off Thursday, so it appears that the team opted to skip Keller's turn through the rotation. However, without another rest for six games, Keller is likely to return to the rotation at some point during the Pittsburgh's series against the Dodgers.

Castillo (1-2) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over five innings against the Cubs. He struck out six.

Castillo walked the leadoff batter Christopher Morel and gave up back-to-back hits -- including a two-run double to Ian Happ -- in the first inning. However, the right-hander was able to settle down and scattered just two baserunners across four scoreless innings to set himself up for his first win of the season. Castillo has registered three consecutive quality starts and sports a 13:2 K:BB during that stretch.

Darvish (4-2) took the loss Wednesday as the Padres fell 2-1 to the Brewers, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander took a shutout into the seventh inning before stumbling, but the Padres' own troubles scoring runs left Darvish on the hook for the loss. He tossed 108 pitches (68 strikes) en route to his second straight quality start and seventh of the season in nine trips to the mound, and Darvish will take a 3.76 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 44:13 K:BB through 52.2 innings into his next outing.

Ashby didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Padres, allowing one unearned run on four hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

Pitching in San Diego, the city where his uncle Andy became a two-time All-Star in the late 90s, Ashby stifled the Padres over 91 pitches (59 strikes) but left the game on the hook for his fourth loss until the Brewers scrounged up a couple runs in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old southpaw will be a regular member of the rotation while Freddy Peralta (lat) is sidelined, and while he's still looking for his first win of 2022, Ashby's 2.91 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 39:20 K:BB through 34 innings suggest it shouldn't be too long in coming.

Urias (3-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over six innings as the Dodgers fell 1-0 to the Nationals. He struck out three.

The southpaw tossed 54 of 87 pitches for strikes en route to his fourth quality start of the season, but Urias got no help from his offense as the Dodgers were shut out for the first time this year. He'll take a 2.49 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB through 47 innings into his next outing.

Meyer (elbow) is scheduled to throw off flat ground Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old landed on the injured list last week with ulnar nerve irritation in his right elbow, but he'll return to throwing Thursday after being shut down for a week. Meyer will likely need some time to build his arm back up, but he could return to mound work soon since the shutdown was relatively brief.

Feltner allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings against Pittsburgh on Wednesday. He did not factor into the decision.

Feltner was starting in place of Antonio Senzatela (back) and put together an impressive performance. He allowed a walk and double to begin the third frame -- both runners came around to score -- but he otherwise held Pittsburgh in check. Feltner has been impressive in two opportunities to make spot starts this season, maintaining a 14:4 K:BB across 10 innings despite a 5.40 ERA. He is currently projected to take at least one more turn through the rotation.

Suarez (4-3) got tagged with the loss Wednesday after he tossed 4.1 innings, surrendering five runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four versus the Braves.

Suarez was lit up in the second inning, giving up four runs including a solo homer by William Contreras. He subsequently allowed a fifth-inning leadoff single to Dansby Swanson, who later came around to score after the left-hander exited with one out in the inning. After registering two consecutive quality starts, Suarez has now been forced out of two straight outings early, giving up eight runs over 7.1 frames in those contests. Following the rough stretch, his ERA and WHIP have jumped from 3.72 and 1.38 to an inflated 4.74 and 1.53, respectively, over 43.2 innings this season. He tentatively lines up to face the Giants on Monday in another tough matchup.
