Woodruff (elbow/ankle/shoulder) will resume his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Woodruff tossed a 60-pitch sim game Monday and has been given the green light to resume his rehab assignment, which was paused on two separate occasions due to ankle tendinitis and more recently, a right elbow contusion. The veteran right-hander has not pitched in a major-league game since undergoing shoulder surgery in October 2023, but if all goes well Sunday, he could return from the 60-day injured list and slot into the Milwaukee rotation next weekend against the Marlins.

Cortes (elbow) threw two simulated innings Friday and is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Cortes continues to progress in his recovery from a left elbow strain that landed him on the injured list in early April. He was cleared to throw bullpen sessions in early June, and after completing a 25-pitch sim game Monday, he repeated the activity four days later. With Cortes checking out fine coming out of the workout, he's ready to take the final step in the recovery process by going out on a rehab assignment. Given the length of his absence, Cortes will need multiple rehab starts before returning from the 60-day injured list and slotting into the Milwaukee rotation, likely at some point shortly after the All-Star break.

The Mets recalled Tidwell from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Tidwell takes the roster spot of Griffin Canning, who's been diagnosed with a ruptured left Achilles tendon and placed on the 60-day injured list. Tidwell appears to be the likeliest option to replace Canning in the rotation until the Mets get one or more of their other injured starters back. Tidwell has made two starts this season, posting a 9.82 ERA and 6:6 K:BB across 7.1 innings of work.

Canning struck out three and gave up just one hit in 2.2 innings Thursday against Atlanta before he had to be removed from the game and helped off the field. To those that saw the injury, this was the expected outcome. Canning will miss the remainder of the 2025 season and possibly even the start of the 2026 campaign, as he has a lengthy rehab ahead of him. Canning was enjoying a career season with the Mets, but it's now over with a 7-3 record, 3.77 ERA and 70:35 K:BB across 76.1 innings and 16 starts. Blade Tidwell has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

Freeland (back) has been reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will start Friday's game against the Brewers.

As expected, Freeland will return after the minimum 15 days on the injured list. The southpaw didn't go on a rehab assignment but isn't expected to be under any restrictions. Freeland owns a 5.13 ERA and a 57:15 K:BB over 14 starts for the Rockies in 2025. Anthony Molina was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

The Giants recalled Seymour from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Seymour joined the Giants' system back in 2022 via trade, and after working his way through the organization, Seymour will join San Francisco's active roster for the first time in his career. He worked exclusively as a starter at Triple-A, logging a 3.89 ERA and an 83:37 K:BB over 74 innings. While the Giants aren't in need of another starting pitcher, Seymour could replace Hayden Birdsong at the back end of the rotation if Birdsong's struggles persist.

The Mets will recall Tidwell from Triple-A Syracuse prior to Friday's game in Pittsburgh, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.

He would appear set to fill the 26-man roster spot vacated by Griffin Canning, who is likely in line for an extended absence after suffering an Achilles injury in Thursday's win over Atlanta. Tidwell will be available out of the bullpen for now, but he is an option to fill Canning's rotation spot, at least until Sean Manaea (oblique/elbow) is ready.

Holmes (4-7) allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings to take the loss Thursday versus the Mets.

Holmes gave up a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings. It wasn't a bad performance from the right-hander, but Atlanta's offense mustered a pitiful three hits in the game, giving Holmes no support. He's allowed 11 runs (10 earned) in 25.2 innings across his five starts in June. Overall, he's at a 3.70 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 103:42 K:BB through 90 innings over 17 appearances (16 starts) this season. Holmes is lined up to face the Angels early next week, which could be a two-start week for him.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said following Thursday's win over Atlanta that the organization believes Canning likely suffered an Achilles injury, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Testing will be needed to confirm the Mets' initial assessment, but if Canning is dealing with an Achilles injury, he could be set to miss a substantial amount of time. The righty hurler emerged as an important part of the team's rotation this season, posting a 7-3 record with a 3.77 ERA over 76.1 innings before suffering the injury. Nothing is certain yet, but if Canning is dealing with a serious injury, it would deplete the Mets' rotation further -- they are already without Kodai Senga (hamstring), Sean Manaea (oblique/elbow) and Tylor Megill (elbow).

The Mets stated after Canning was pulled from Thursday's game against Atlanta that he's dealing with a left ankle injury.

Canning collapsed to the ground and had to be assisted off the field by trainers after stepping awkwardly on the mound during the third inning. In addition to clarifying that the hurler's injury is to his left ankle, the Mets also stated that Canning will undergo imaging. It's not clear at this point if Canning will have to miss his next start, but it certainly is a possibility pending the details of his injury.
