Davies allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Davies was staked to a two-run lead after two innings, and that held up until Los Angeles slugged a pair of solo homers against him in the fourth. The right-hander remained in the game and finished having allowed just those two runs through 5.1 frames, but he ended up with his 10th consecutive no-decision. Davies hasn't earned a win since May 13, though he's been pretty average with a 4.26 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over 86.2 innings across 17 outings since that victory. He's allowed two runs or fewer in five of his past six starts.

Burnes (10-7) took the loss against St. Louis on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five batters over seven innings.

Burnes didn't pitch poorly in the contest, and a pair of solo home runs -- one by Nolan Arenado in the second inning and another by Lars Nootbaar in the fifth -- accounted for most of the damage against him. The righty hurler picked up his second straight quality start, but he was outdueled by veteran Adam Wainwright, who gave up only one run over five innings. Burnes has bounced back from an ugly three-start stretch by allowing just four earned runs over 15 frames during his past two starts. Fantasy managers who roster him will look for Burnes to keep up the momentum as he lines up for two starts next week.

Wainwright (11-9) picked up the win over Milwaukee on Wednesday, allowing one run on eight hits and two walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Wainwright made history alongside teammate Yadier Molina, as the veterans logged their 325th start together as a battery, the most in major-league history. Wainwright celebrated the accomplishment with his 11th victory of the campaign, working around eight singles and a a pair of walks to allow just one run. The right-hander has put together a solid 17th season, posting a 3.29 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 137:47 K:BB over 178 innings. Wainwright has won five of his past six decisions, recording a 3.06 ERA across 10 games during that stretch.

Contreras allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out three across four innings Wednesday against the Reds. He did not factor into the decision.

Contreras was pulled after only 55 pitches as the Pirates seek to manage his workload. He was effective during his time on the mound, racking up nine swinging strikes and nine called strikes. Since being recalled to the majors Aug. 17, Contreras has maintained a 2.43 ERA and 24:13 K:BB across 34.1 innings. He's also worked at least six innings in three of those six outings, though he may continue to get yanked early in appearances down the stretch.

Lodolo (4-6) allowed three earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out 11 across 6.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Pirates.

Lodolo was stuck with the loss after allowing a three-run home to Rodolfo Castro in the third inning. However, Lodolo was very impressive, racking up 16 swinging strikes on 102 total pitches while also inducing five groundball outs. He's shown an impressive ability to rack up strikeouts across his last three starts and 20.1 innings by punching out 31 hitters. In that same span, he's allowed only five earned runs. For the season, Lodolo has a 3.81 ERA with a 113:31 K:BB across 87.1 frames.

Clevinger (5-7) was charged with the loss after he pitched five innings, giving up six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two versus the Mariners on Wednesday.

Clevinger struggled with the long ball Wednesday, surrendering all six runs on three homers by the Mariners. Most notably, Carlos Santana busted the game wide-open with a three-run shot in the bottom of the fifth inning, giving Seattle a 6-0 lead. Clevinger has now produced three consecutive disappointing starts, giving up 15 runs over 13.1 innings while allowing six homers over that span. The difficult stretch has raised his ERA from 3.59 to 4.47 over 98.2 frames in 20 starts this season.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits over six innings with four strikeouts against the Orioles.

The only damage on the night came after a few singles and a couple of groundouts that scored a run in the top of the second inning. Otherwise, Corbin held Baltimore in check to position himself to win before the bullpen blew the game for the Nationals. The southpaw has thrown six or more innings in five of his last six starts, four of which have been quality starts. In that stretch, his ERA has decreased from 7.02 to 6.11.

Peterson (7-5) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs on two hits and three walks over one-third of an inning in a 6-3 loss to the Cubs. He struck out one.

Peterson's disastrous outing began with three straight walks and ended with back-to-back two-run doubles from Yan Gomes and P.J. Higgins. The lefty had allowed less than four runs in 11 straight starts dating back to June 15, a span during which the 27-year-old recorded seven strikeouts or more eight times.

Morton (8-6) got the loss after he pitched 5.1 innings, surrendering four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters against the Giants on Wednesday.

Morton didn't have his best stuff again Wednesday, giving up four runs for the second straight outing and third time in his last four starts. After a hot stretch from June 17 to July 8, he's been inconsistent, allowing four or more runs in six out of 11 outings. Morton now owns a 4.17 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 187 strikeouts over 157.2 innings in 28 starts this season.

Cabrera (5-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over 5.1 innings against the Phillies. He struck out four.

Cabrera allowed just three hits on the evening, but unfortunately for the 24-year-old, two of them left the yard, which was enough to saddle him with the loss. While Cabrera has allowed three or fewer earned runs in all but two of his 11 starts this season, only three have gone for six or more innings, likely the result of high pitch counts associated with free passes. His three walks Wednesday give him 30 on the season, compared to 63 strikeouts.
