Peralta (3-2) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and zero walks over six innings in a 6-2 win over the Tigers. He struck out eight.

The only blemishes on Peralta's ledger came in the fourth. Nick Maton led off the inning by reaching on an error by Brian Anderson, and after the right-hander retired back-to-back hitters, Akil Baddoo and Jake Rogers posted two-out, run-scoring hits. However, both runs were unearned due to the leadoff error, and Peralta cruised through two more innings, lowering his ERA from 3.97 to 3.14. His eight strikeouts and zero walks were both season-best marks, and he currently sports a 31:9 K:BB over 28.2 innings. Wednesday's outing was certainly a bounce-back performance for Peralta, who had given up nine runs over his previous two starts, and he'll look to maintain the momentum during his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled for Milwaukee's upcoming three-game set in Colorado.

Ashcraft allowed two runs on three hits and four walks over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Rangers. He struck out three.

Through five starts this year, Ashcraft has yet to allow more than two runs while pitching at least five innings. The 25-year-old right-hander is 2-0 with an impressive 2.10 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 24:15 K:BB. While an 11.3% walk rate and .235 BABIP against would indicate that Ashcraft is due for some regression, he's been able to limit hard contact thus far. He's tentatively lined up to face the Padres on the road in his next outing.

Quintana (ribs) hopes to be cleared to play catch at his six-week follow-up doctor's appointment Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

It would be the first time Quintana has done any throwing since he had surgery in mid-March to repair a stress fracture on the left side of his rib cage. He'll need to be built back up deliberately, with a return sometime in July looking like the best-case scenario.

Taillon (groin) played catch again Wednesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Taillon already has multiple flat-ground throwing sessions under his belt and could perhaps soon advance to mound work. He landed on the 15-day injured list April 20 due to what's being called a mild-to-moderate left groin strain. If all continues to go well, the 31-year-old right-hander should be ready to rejoin the Cubs' rotation in the early part of May.

The Dodgers reinstated Gonsolin (ankle) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

After missing the first four weeks of the season due to a left ankle sprain, Gonsolin has been officially cleared to make his 2023 debut. He made only one minor-league rehab start in which he covered just three innings, so Gonsolin may not work deep enough into Wednesday's contest to factor into a decision. Once he gets fully stretched out, however, the 28-year-old should make for an excellent fantasy option coming off his breakout 2022 campaign. Gonsolin went 16-1 with a 2.14 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 130.1 innings for the Dodgers last season.

Marquez exited Wednesday's start in Cleveland with an apparent right arm injury, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

After spending the minimum amount of time on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm inflammation, Marquez was activated ahead of Wednesday's contest, but he recorded just 11 outs, struck out four and surrendered three runs before succumbing to another arm injury. The Rockies should provide another update on Marquez's condition after the game, including information on whether his injury is related to the previous forearm strain. Colorado has off days coming up Thursday and Monday, so if Marquez's arm injury is minor enough to avoid a return trip to the IL, he could remain on the active roster and get pushed to the back of the rotation.

Wainwright (groin) allowed three runs on seven hits and one walk over 4.1 innings in Tuesday's rehab start with Double-A Springfield, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Wainwright struck out just one on the night. The veteran right-hander has now allowed five runs on 11 hits with a 4:1 K:BB over 7.1 innings over his two rehab outings. Woo says the Cardinals are still deciding whether to give him a third rehab start or re-insert him into the rotation. If Wainwright does make his next start with the big club, it could come as soon as Sunday in Los Angeles versus the Dodgers.

The Rockies reinstated Marquez (forearm) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Guardians.

Marquez will make his return to the mound after spending the minimum 15 days on the IL after straining his right forearm. Considering the fact that he didn't make any rehab starts and instead is stepping right back into big-league competition, it's likely that he won't have a complete workload Wednesday. To make room for Marquez on the major-league roster, Jose Urena was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Oviedo didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 8-7 loss to the Dodgers, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander saw his quality start streak end at three, but Oviedo still exited the game in line for his third win of the season, only to see Colin Holderman serve up a game-winning blast to Chris Taylor in the eighth inning. Oviedo will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through 29.2 innings into his next outing, likely to come this weekend on the road against the Nationals.

Syndergaard didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Pirates, coughing up seven runs on nine hits over four innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.

It was the worst performance of the season for the veteran right-hander, who managed to generate only seven swinging strikes in 80 pitches, but a late comeback by the Dodgers got Syndergaard off the hook for a potential fourth straight loss. He's now served up five homers in 26 innings, fueling a 6.58 ERA, and his 21:4 K:BB and career-low 92.2 mph average fastball are reminders that his pre-injury form almost certainly isn't coming back. Syndergaard will look to get back on track in his next start, likely to come at home this weekend against the Cardinals.
