Miley did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing one run on seven hits over six innings against the Angels. He struck out two without walking a batter.

Miley continued his excellent start to 2023. He has pitched at least five innings in every start and has allowed three runs or less each time out. The strikeout numbers are not there, as he has just five punchouts in 11 innings over his last two starts. However his ERA is a minuscule 1.86 and his WHIP is an even 1.00.

Nola (2-2) earned the win Friday, allowing one run on three hits over eight innings against the Astros. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Nola provided his best start of the season in a World Series rematch. The righty posted season-best numbers in innings pitched, strikeouts, runs allowed and hits allowed, lowering his ERA to 4.46 in the process.

Walker (forearm) felt good after a bullpen session Friday and remains on track to make his next scheduled start, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Walker made an early exit from his last turn in the Phillies' rotation Wednesday versus the Mariners due to right forearm tightness, but he checked out fine during a visit with team doctors Thursday and appears likely to take the mound with no restrictions Monday at Dodger Stadium. The 30-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.97 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 23:14 K:BB through 25.1 innings and five starts this season.

Woodruff (shoulder) underwent a follow-up MRI on Wednesday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

The results of the scan were apparently encouraging, as Minnaert writes that the Brewers will "move forward building him up" on a to-be-determined timeline. Woodruff was placed on the injured list April 11 due to right shoulder discomfort and was later diagnosed with a sub-scapular strain. He is expected to avoid surgery, but there's no clarity as to when he might be able to return to Milwaukee's rotation.

Senzatela (knee) is scheduled to make another minor-league rehab start Sunday, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

He could then slot into the rotation spot left vacant by German Marquez, who was placed on the injured list Friday with an elbow issue and might be facing surgery. Senzatela tossed 3.1 innings of one-run ball in his rehab debut Tuesday at Triple-A Albuquerque. It was his first taste of live competition since he tore the ACL in his left knee last August.

Marquez (elbow) said Friday that he's worried he might require Tommy John surgery, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

Marquez was placed on the injured list Friday afternoon with an initial diagnosis of right elbow inflammation, but he'll get another MRI and a second opinion from a specialist Monday. Either way, it's clear now that the 28-year-old right-hander is going to be absent from the Rockies' rotation for much longer than 15 days. Tommy John surgery would knock him out until late 2024. Marquez is in the final guaranteed year of the five-year, $43 million extension he signed with Colorado back in April 2019.

Cueto (biceps) is scheduled to throw 60 pitches in an extended spring training game Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cueto covered three innings in a simulated game Wednesday and is now ready to take another significant step forward in his recovery from a right biceps issue. He made just one start for the Marlins before landing on the injured list April 4, but the veteran right-hander seems to be trending toward a return by mid-May.

Quintana (ribs) played catch Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Quintana said he didn't feel any pain while throwing for the first time since undergoing surgery on his ribs. He still has a long way to go in his rehab process, but a painless session is a good sign for the 34-year-old lefty. He remains on track for a return sometime in July.

The Rockies recalled Seabold from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

With German Marquez (elbow) landing on the 15-day injured list Friday, Seabold will take Marquez's spot on the Rockies' pitching staff. Seabold has already made six appearances for Colorado this season, logging a 5.23 ERA and 1.55 WHIP alongside a 10:3 K:BB through 10.1 innings. He's a likely candidate to replace Marquez in the rotation, otherwise he could work in a multi-inning relief role.

Marquez was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to April 27, with right elbow inflammation.

Marquez was pulled from his last turn in the Rockies' rotation Wednesday versus the Guardians after experiencing upper-arm discomfort. An MRI taken Thursday showed no structural damage, but the 28-year-old right-hander will need some time off as the elbow inflammation dissipates. Connor Seabold is up from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move and could be a fill-in option for Marquez.
