Hill (7-11) allowed six runs on four hits and a walk over three innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Dodgers.

The Dodgers plated six runs in the first two innings against Hill, capped off by Freddie Freeman's three-run blast. It was Hll's first outing as a Padre and he gave up six runs for the first time since May 29. The veteran southpaw posted a 5.70 ERA across six July starts and his season ERA has jumped to 5.09. Hill's next start is projected to be in Arizona.

Richardson (0-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks over three innings against the Nationals. He struck out two.

Following a four-run first inning that included seeing his first two career pitches hit out of the yard, Richardson settled down in the next two frames but was pulled after 66 pitches. That number represents 17 more pitches than he had thrown in any start for the organization since May as he continues to work his way back from a lost 2022 due to Tommy John surgery. It is possible the 23-year-old prospect remains in the Reds rotation for now, but he's highly likely to have his pitch count remain limited moving forward.

Irvin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Reds. He struck out six.

After being handed a four-run lead before even throwing a pitch, Irvin never lost the lead but was pulled with one out in the fifth having thrown 94 pitches. Irvin had pitched at least five innings in eight of his previous nine starts. However, following a promising June in which he posted a 3.48 ERA, he's struggled to a 4.95 ERA since. His next turn in the rotation is scheduled for next weekend in a home matchup with the A's.

Walker (13-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk over seven innings in an 8-4 victory over the Royals. He struck out two.

It looked like it could be a short outing for Walker after he surrendered four runs in the first two innings. However, the 30-year-old Walker blanked the Royals over his next five innings, allowing just one more hit in that span, as he tied Justin Steele for the league lead with 13 wins. Walker now sports a 3.98 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and 104:49 K:BB across 23 starts (126.2 innings) this season. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Twins in his next outing.

Woodruff (1-1) was handed the loss Sunday against the Pirates after allowing two runs on four hits while striking out nine over five innings.

Woodruff was impressive overall in his return to the mound for the first time since April 7. While he limited the Pirates to just four hits, three of the four hits went for extra bases including two solo home runs. Woodruff reached 97 mph with his fastball and sinker and looked like he hadn't missed a beat. The 30-year-old reached 85 pitches and threw well enough for a win, but the Brewers' bats were quieted. Woodruff will look to change his luck when he matches up against the White Sox next weekend.

Quintana (0-3) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings in a 2-0 loss to the Orioles. He struck out six.

It was another tough-luck loss for Quintana, who put together his third consecutive quality start. In four starts since making his season debut following rib surgery, the 34-year-old Quintana has shown that he's still an effective pitcher with a 3.42 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. However, as long as the Mets continue to flounder, wins are going to be tough to attain for the 13-year vet.

Oviedo improved to 6-11 on the season Sunday after tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing two hits and issuing three walks in a 4-1 win over the Brewers. He struck out six batters.

Oviedo was in complete command Sunday and continued his recent run of dominance on the mound. He's allowed one run or fewer in four of his last five starts and has 11 such starts this season, good for second in the National League. With Sunday's spectacular outing, Oviedo has tied Mitch Keller for the team lead with 12 quality starts and now possesses the lowest ERA on the team (4.21). He'll look to keep rolling in a projected start against the Reds next weekend.

Dodd (undisclosed) was reinstated from Triple-A Gwinnett's 7-day injured list Wednesday and returned to the rotation Thursday, covering three innings and allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in a no-decision versus Indianapolis. He struck out one batter in the 59-pitch outing.

Dodd was making his first appearance for Gwinnett since June 22 after missing nearly six weeks due to the unspecified injury. The 26-year-old southpaw has previously made six starts for Atlanta this season, but after compiling an 8.02 ERA and 1.90 WHIP in 42.2 innings through his 10 outings with Gwinnett, he's unlikely to receive another promotion anytime soon.

Morton (10-10) allowed five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Cubs.

Morton's skid continued, as he's given up 16 runs over 19.2 innings during his four-start losing streak. He's also posted a 17:15 K:BB in that span, though he's had trouble with walks (4.2 BB/9) all season. Overall, the right-hander is at a 3.86 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 132:58 K:BB through 123.2 innings over 22 starts. He's projected for a road start against the Mets his next time out.

Steele (13-3) allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and four walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Sunday.

Steele has allowed no fewer than seven baserunners in each of his last four starts, but he's emerged with a win in each of them. His four walks Sunday matched his season high. While he's been shaky of late, the left-hander is still at a solid 2.75 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and 113:28 K:BB through 121 innings over 21 starts this season. He's projected for a road outing in Toronto his next time out.
