Alcantara was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to Sept. 4, with right forearm flexor strain, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

According to Craig Mish of the Miami Herald, Alcantara informed the Marlins after his start against the Nationals on Sunday that he was experiencing some discomfort in his pitching arm. He is undergoing tests, but the Marlins have opted to go ahead and make an IL move. Alcantara will be eligible to return Sept. 19, but the results of the exams will offer a clearer picture as to when he might make it back.

Cincinnati recalled Richardson from Triple-A Louisville ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Mariners.

Richardson is enjoying a breakout 2023 season in the minors, but the 23-year-old right-hander has surrendered nine earned runs on 10 hits and 11 walks through his first three major-league starts covering just 12 innings. He's a risky fantasy streamer against Seattle.

Chandler has a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 49 strikeouts in 49 innings over his last nine starts for High-A Greensboro.

Chandler got an 11-day gap between starts in early-July and just took 10 days in between his Aug. 22 start and his most recent start Sept. 2, as Pittsburgh carefully monitors the former two-way player's first season focusing solely on pitching. The hard-throwing 20-year-old righty has a very high ceiling and has turned a corner at High-A after logging a 6.63 ERA and 1.89 WHIP in his first 57 innings this season.

Teheran (hip) gave up an unearned run on one hit and three walks while striking out three over five innings in his latest rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Nashville.

Teheran was making his third minor-league rehab start Tuesday and delivered his best outing yet, limiting Memphis to just one hit despite spotting only 37 of his 72 pitches for strikes. Though the Brewers likely would have wanted to see better efficiency from Teheran, he looks built up enough at this point to return from the 15-day injured list and potentially rejoin the big-league rotation. Incumbent No. 5 starter Adrian Houser (elbow) is on the shelf, and Colin Rea is slated to make a second straight start in his stead Thursday versus the Yankees. If Rea falters during his upcoming outing, the Brewers could turn to Teheran to replace Rea as their new No. 5 starter.

Vines was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Vines will join Atlanta's bullpen for now, but he's a candidate to draw a start this weekend against the Pirates as a replacement for Michael Soroka (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday. The rookie right-hander allowed two runs over six innings in a win over the Rockies in his major-league debut last week before being optioned back to Triple-A.

Soroka dealt with numbness in the fingers on his pitching hand during a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday, but it's now being termed a forearm issue which is sending the righty to the IL. There is no timetable for his return at this point, but given where we are on the calendar it seems unlikely we'll see Soroka pitch again in the big leagues this season.

Rea is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Yankees in The Bronx.

Rea will make a second straight turn through the rotation after he struck out six while allowing two runs over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies this past Saturday, when he stepped in as the Brewers' new No. 5 starter in place of the injured Adrian Houser (elbow). Even if Houser isn't ready to pitch by the next time his turn in the rotation comes up, Rea may need a strong showing Thursday to ensure he makes another start. Julio Teheran (hip) tossed five scoreless innings in his most recent rehab start Tuesday at Triple-A Nashville and could be a candidate to replace Rea as the big club's No. 5 starter if the latter struggles against the Yankees.

Little's contract was purchased from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports.

Little, 23, began the season at High-A South Bend but has made it all the way up to the majors after posting a 2.12 ERA and 105:42 K:BB over 63.2 innings across three levels. The hard-throwing lefty reliever will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

Mikolas (7-10) picked up the win in Tuesday's 10-6 victory over Atlanta, giving up three runs on eight hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out two.

All three Atlanta runs came on solo shots, but Mikolas otherwise kept the NL East leaders off the board and got more than enough run support from the Cardinals. The quality start was his 12th of the season, but since the All-Star break the right-hander has stumbled to a 5.69 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB through 55.1 innings, largely thanks to 10 homers allowed. He could have a hard time keeping the ball in the park again in his next outing, which is likely to come this weekend in Cincinnati.

Corbin (9-13) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals were downed 11-5 by the Mets, coughing up eight runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over four innings. He struck out two.

A four-run first inning punctuated by a three-run homer off Francisco Alvarez's bat set the tone for Corbin's night. The veteran lefty got the hook after 83 pitches (53 strikes) and he's served up multiple long balls in four of his last seven starts, stumbling to a 5.92 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB through 38 innings over that stretch. With the Nationals playing out the string, Corbin will remain in the rotation, but he's got little fantasy appeal heading into his next outing, likely to come early next week in Pittsburgh.
