Nola (11-4) picked up the win Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks across six innings against the Dodgers. He struck out nine.

Nola had no issues with the top end of the Dodgers' lineup, holding Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith and Freddie Freeman hitless with five strikeouts. The lone run against Nola came off the bat of Gavin Lux, who went yard to lead off the fifth inning. Nola has generated at least eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances and has posted a quality start in 10 of his last 11 outings. The 31-year-old owns the second most wins in baseball to go along with a 3.38 ERA across 119.2 innings. However, his 8.7 K/9 would be his worst tally since his rookie year in 2015.

Knack didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Philadelphia, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out five.

The 26-year-old had started in each of his first seven appearances this season but followed an opener in Anthony Banda on Thursday. Knack took over in the second inning with the Dodgers trailing 1-0 and surrendered a solo home run to the first batter he faced in Brandon Marsh. Though Knack retired 10 straight batters following the second frame, he surrendered a pair of singles and a triple to consecutive batters with one out in the sixth and was subsequently removed. In eight appearances, Knack owns a 3.23 ERA and a 36:10 K:BB across 39.0 innings.

Hicks (4-6) took the loss Thursday against Toronto, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over 4.1 innings He struck out one.

Hicks surrendered solo home runs to Danny Jansen and Spencer Horwitz in the loss. Hicks has now allowed multiple long balls in three of his last eight starts after not doing so in his first 11 outings of 2024. The 27-year-old hasn't earned a win since May 19 and owns a 5.57 ERA in 42.0 innings during that nine-start stretch. The reliever-turned-starter has completed only six innings three times this season and hasn't gone deeper than five innings since late May.

Gomber (2-6) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over five innings against the Reds. He struck out five.

Each of the four runs Gomber allowed came via the long ball, with Tyler Stephenson tagging him for a three-run dinger in the third and Santiago Espinal following up with a solo blast in the fourth. It was the fifth time in 10 road starts that Gomber has allowed at least four earned runs. Surprisingly, the left-hander has fared much worse on the road despite playing his home games at Coors Field, posting a 5.61 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 51.1 innings away from home as opposed to a 3.54 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 48.1 frames in the high altitude.

Greene (6-4) earned the win Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings against the Rockies. He struck out 10.

Greene, who was added to the NL All-Star roster a couple of days ago, validated that selection by allowing just a single earned run and only four baserunners while fanning a season-high 10 batters over six innings. It's the fifth time in his last six outings the right-hander has allowed two or fewer runs, a feat he's now accomplished 13 times in 19 starts this season. Greene heads into the All-Star break with a 3.34 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 126 strikeouts over 110.1 innings.

Rodriguez (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Rodriguez threw off a mound for the first time this season Tuesday and recovered well. He could be cleared to face live hitters after another couple bullpen sessions, which could be the final hurdle before beginning a rehab assignment. Rodriguez has been on the shelf all season due to the shoulder strain and will likely require multiple starts in the minors before being cleared to make his debut for the Diamondbacks.

Anderson (elbow) will make a rehab appearance with Double-A Rome on Friday.

Anderson last pitched June 30 and completed three innings with Single-A Augusta. It's expected that he will make at least one additional rehab outing after Friday's start, though Atlanta will likely want to see Anderson ramp up his workload after throwing 46 pitches in his previous outing.

Kelly (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Kelly completed a bullpen session Tuesday, the first time he's thrown from the mound since landing on the injured list in mid-April with a shoulder strain. He'll continue building up his workload before progressing to facing live batters and remains on track for a mid-August return.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday that Montgomery (knee) could be ready for Arizona's road trip immediately following the All-Star break, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Montgomery is set for a bullpen session Friday, which follows his return to mound work Tuesday after briefly being shut down with knee inflammation. Lovullo didn't give a specific target date for Montgomery's return, though it seems that the left-hander will be able to forego a rehab assignment.

Wicks (oblique) has not been progressing through his throwing program as well as the Cubs had hoped, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Wicks is reportedly still feeling the effects of the right oblique strain that sent him to the injured list in mid-June, so he has yet to advance beyond playing catch. He remains without a firm return timeline, though it's unlikely he returns to Chicago's rotation before the end of July.
