Boyle (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Boyle has missed more than three weeks with a right elbow strain, but he's progressed to the point that he's ready to test himself in a game setting. The right-hander made three starts for the Rays before getting hurt, posting a 5.17 ERA and 16:6 K:BB over 15.2 innings. He could be reclaim a spot in the Tampa Bay rotation if he looks sharp during his rehab assignment.

The Red Sox transferred Sandoval (biceps/elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

While working his way back from the June 2024 internal brace surgery he required on his left elbow, Sandoval hit a setback in late April, when he was pulled off his rehab assignment after experiencing tightness in his left biceps. Though additional testing on his arm revealed nothing overly concerning, Sandoval has yet to restart his throwing program, making it unclear when he might be ready to resume his minor-league assignment. The move to the 60-day IL won't affect Sandoval's timeline for making his Red Sox debut, as he wasn't on track to be activated by late May following the recent setback.

Skubal is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery to address loose bodies in his left elbow and was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday, Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press reports.

Skubal was seen shaking his left arm in discomfort during the seventh inning of his most recent start Wednesday in Atlanta, but after being visited by team trainers, he stayed in the game and struck out the side to complete his night. Though Skubal indicated over the weekend that he was able to stick to his usual between-starts program and felt ready to take the hill for Monday's series opener versus the Red Sox, the Tigers scratched him just hours before first pitch. According to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, manager A.J. Hinch said that Skubal's arm locked up on him Sunday, prompting the Tigers to shut down the star southpaw for what the team hopes is an "easy process and procedure." An official timeline for Skubal's return won't be established until his procedure is performed, but elbow scopes often keep pitchers out for 2-to-3 months.

Skubal has been scratched from his scheduled start Monday against the Red Sox due to an undisclosed injury, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Though Skubal was able to finish out his most recent start last Wednesday in Atlanta, he was seen grabbing at and massaging his left forearm during the seventh inning and was visited on the mound by a team trainer before staying in the game. Per Jason Beck of MLB.com, the two-time Cy Young Award winner said over the weekend that he was able to complete his between-starts bullpen session Friday and was feeling good heading into Monday's start, but the Tigers may not have been as convinced that he was fully healthy. More on Skubal's status will be known when manager A.J. Hinch addresses the media prior to Monday's game. Heyman relays that the Tigers' decision to scratch Skubal is viewed as precautionary, so at this stage, the southpaw is expected to avoid a stint on the injured list.

Peterson (triceps) has made two starts for Triple-A Columbus since being activated from the 7-day injured list Tuesday, covering seven innings and striking out six batters while yielding one earned run on four hits and one walk.

Peterson was shelved to begin the season after being diagnosed in late February with a right triceps strain, but he appears to have made a seamless recovery from the injury and was able to join the Columbus rotation last week without requiring a rehab assignment. The Guardians added the 26-year-old righty to their 40-man roster over the winter, but he remains somewhat buried on the organizational depth chart and may need the Cleveland rotation to lose multiple key arms before getting the chance to make his MLB debut.

Triple-A Columbus placed Gomez on its 7-day injured list April 5 due to a right shoulder strain.

After being added to Cleveland's 40-man roster over the winter, Gomez has yet to make his 2026 organizational debut due to the shoulder injury, which he likely sustained at some point during spring training. The right-hander has yet to pitch at the Triple-A level after splitting time with High-A Lake County and Double-A Akron in 2025 while submitting a 2.96 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 139:48 K:BB in 121.2 innings between the two stops.

Sandlin (elbow) struck out four while yielding two hits and no walks over four scoreless innings Saturday in his debut for Triple-A Charlotte after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list.

Acquired from the Red Sox in February, Sandlin's organizational debut was delayed until late April after his throwing progression was slowed down during spring training due to a bout with right elbow soreness. After making a pair of rehab starts at High-A Winston-Salem, Sandlin was cleared to join Charlotte and turned in a gem Sunday, recording his 12 outs on an efficient 48 pitches. Sandlin turned 25 in February and likely won't require much more development time in the minors, so he'll stand a good chance at getting a look in the White Sox rotation at some point later this season.

Verlander (hip) threw a bullpen session Sunday at close to full intensity, MLB.com reports.

Verlander maxed out at 94 miles per hour with his fastball during the throwing session and seemingly checked out well following the workout, which potentially sets him up to face hitters later on this week. Once Verlander reaches that step in the recovery process, the Tigers could have more details regarding when the veteran right-hander might be ready to return from the 15-day injured list. Verlander has been on the shelf since April 4 after experiencing left hip inflammation coming out of his 2026 debut.

Cortez has been promoted to Double-A Rocket City and will be used in a relief role moving forward, Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports.

A second-round pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Cortez was used primarily as a reliever in college, but the Angels had attempted to develop him as a starting pitcher. However, while Cortez has shown good stuff in the minors, an 18.4 percent walk rate left the Angels little choice but to shift the righty to the bullen. Cortez could move quickly as a reliever, and he's in an organization known for aggressively promoting its prospects.

Berrios (elbow) surrendered seven earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out one batter across 3.2 innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Buffalo.

Berrios tossed exactly 70 pitches for the second straight rehab appearance, but he lacked both command and control once again. After beginning his rehab assignment with a pair of starts in the Florida State League, Berrios has posted a 14.09 ERA, 2.22 WHIP and 3:6 K:BB while serving up five home runs over 7.2 innings since shifting to Triple-A. At this point, Berrios looks to be fully stretched out for a starting role, but his poor results in his last two outings with Buffalo don't offer much confidence that he would represent an upgrade over Eric Lauer at the back end of the rotation. The Blue Jays may wait and see how Lauer fares during his upcoming start Monday at Tampa Bay before determining Berrios's next steps.
