Weathers (illness) is slated to start Monday's series opener in Baltimore, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Weathers was scratched ahead of his previously scheduled start this past Thursday against the Rangers after struggling to bounce back from an illness that surfaced earlier in the week, but the southpaw has since made a full recovery from the ailment. He was able to complete a side session without incident over the weekend and isn't expected to be operating with any restrictions Monday when he takes the hill for his eighth start of the season.

Severino (2-4) took the loss against the Orioles on Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Severino limited the damage but lacked command overall, issuing four walks while generating only seven whiffs on 102 pitches. On the bright side, the 32-year-old has now yielded just five earned runs over his past four starts while completing at least five frames in seven straight outings. He'll carry a 4.07 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 47:29 K:BB across 48.2 innings into a home matchup against the Giants next weekend.

The Tigers transferred Verlander to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

The 43-year-old progressed to facing live batters Saturday as he continues to work his way back from hip inflammation, which sent him to the IL after his season debut March 30. Verlander was already likely to require a few rehab starts in the minors before rejoining Detroit's rotation, so the move to the 60-day IL likely doesn't affect his return timeline much. He'll be eligible to come off the IL at the start of June.

Bassitt (3-2) earned the win against the Athletics on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings.

Bassitt entered in the second inning and provided the Orioles with plenty of length, generating 14 swinging strikes on 94 pitches in the process. It marked the first appearance this season in which the veteran did not start, though it was just the second time in eight outings that he completed six frames. Overall, he still owns a disappointing 5.21 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 26:18 K:BB across 38 innings. Should he draw a start his next time out, Bassitt lines up for a road matchup against the Nationals next weekend.

Bello is slated to work in bulk relief behind an opener in Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

After Bello struggled to a 9.12 ERA and 2.26 WHIP while starting in his first six appearances of the season, the Red Sox opted to use him behind opening pitcher Jovani Moran during his latest turn through the rotation this past Tuesday against the Tigers. The arrangement paid immediate dividends, with Bello reaching season highs in innings (seven) and strikeouts (seven) while limiting Detroit to one earned run on four hits and one walk. The Red Sox will face some tough decisions with their rotation once Garrett Crochet (shoulder) potentially returns from the injured list later this month, so Bello may need another strong showing Tuesday to ensure he continues to be utilized as a starter or in a starter-like role.

Suarez (hamstring) is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Phillies in Boston, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

After he was lifted early in his most recent start May 3 against the Astros due to right hamstring tightness, Suarez had a turn through the rotation skipped but looks set to avoid a stint on the injured list. He'll end up returning to the mound on 10 days' rest to face his former team for the first time since signing a lavish five-year deal with Boston over the winter. The veteran southpaw has gotten off to a strong start to his inaugural campaign with the Red Sox, going 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB in 39 innings through his first seven outings.

Gil was placed on Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's 7-day IL on Friday due to right shoulder inflammation, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Gil has been with the Triple-A club for less than two weeks after he was optioned April 26. He didn't make any appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before landing on the IL, but Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated that the shoulder inflammation is a new concern rather than one that contributed to Gil's poor performance while he was with the big-league club. Boone added that Gil won't throw for at least three weeks, so the right-hander is looking at an extended absence from game action.

The Orioles claimed Roa off waivers from the Twins on Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Roa was designated for assignment by Minnesota on Wednesday but will remain on a 40-man roster as he heads to Baltimore. Prior to his brief time in the Twins organization, the right-hander made seven appearances for the Astros earlier this season and surrendered five earned runs with a 6:7 K:BB over 8.2 innings.

Rodriguez (shoulder) will continue his rehab assignment Sunday at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Rodriguez will jump up a level after an appearance Tuesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The right-hander faced little resistance from a lineup of teenaged hitters, striking out seven while allowing one earned run on five hits and no walks over five innings. Rodriguez threw 73 pitches in that outing, and he's slated to build up to six innings or 90 pitches Sunday, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. While Rodriguez looks ready to handle a typical starter's workload, the Angels could keep him in the minors past Sunday to allow him to knock off more rust. The 26-year-old didn't pitch at all in 2025 due to multiple elbow injuries that he ultimately addressed with a debridement procedure in August, and though he received a clean bill of health heading into spring training, he was forced to the 15-day injured list after experiencing shoulder inflammation late in camp.

Imai (arm) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday against the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander has been on the shelf about a month due to arm fatigue, but he's ready to re-enter Houston's rotation after two rehab starts in the minor leagues. Imai threw 63 pitches over three innings during his most recent outing with Triple-A Sugar Land this past Tuesday, so he could have some workload limitations in his return. Prior to the absence, the 28-year-old surrendered seven earned runs with a 13:11 K:BB over 8.2 frames in his first three MLB starts.
