  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Collects seventh win of year Wednesday

Stroman (7-4) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out six over eight innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Royals.

After giving up a run in his last inning of work, Stroman appeared headed for a no-decision, but the offense picked him up by scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to lift him to his seventh win of the year. Stroman struggled in four of his five starts in June, but he's fired a pair of quality starts already this month to bring his ERA back down to 4.89. His next start will be after the All-Star break.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Ends first half with another disappointing start

Gausman (1-6) pitched five innings, allowing four runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out six Wednesday against the Dodgers. He did not factor in the decision.

Although he's not having a great year, Gausman has given owners more than five innings in a majority of his starts this season. However, manager Buck Showalter had seen enough after 95 pitches to hook the struggling 25-year-old after he gave up two fifth-inning runs. Through 15 starts in 2016, Gausman sports an unsightly 4.15 ERA with just one victory to show for his efforts.

  • Sonny Gray SP | BOS

Athletics' Sonny Gray: Falls to Twins in final start before break

Gray (3-8) allowed one run on six hits over six innings Wednesday against the Twins. He walked four and struck out five in the loss.

Gray allowed a runner to reach base in each of his six innings, and the walk to Robbie Grossman in the fifth was his fourth of the day, tying a season high. The right-hander did well in working out of jams, stranding seven baserunners in his first four innings, but his propensity for the free pass Wednesday cost him in that inning after Grossman scored from first on Joe Mauer's double. Gray has issued 34 walks in just 90.2 innings this season, giving him a 3.4 BB/9 -- nearly a full walk higher than the 2.6 mark he posted a year ago.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | LAA

Mariners' Taijuan Walker: Lands on 15-day disabled list

Walker (foot) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

The young right-hander aggravated his pre-existing foot issue during Tuesday's start, leading to him scheduling a meeting with a foot specialist for later in the week. He's officially landing on the disabled list due to right foot tendinitis, which leaves a spot open in the rotation for this weekend. The hope is that the upcoming All-Star break and additional rest time thereafter will be enough for Walker to get back on the hill before too long, but a more concrete timetable for his return figures to be released in the coming days.

  • Michael Roth SP | TEX

Rangers' Michael Roth: Outrighted to Triple-A

Roth cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

He had a 2.66 ERA at Round Rock earlier this year, splitting time between the rotation and the bullpen, but none of the surrounding numbers back up that run prevention mark. Roth will continue to serve as organizational depth at the Rangers' Triple-A affiliate going forward.

  • Tommy Milone SP | SEA

Twins' Tommy Milone: Earns first win over Athletics

Milone (1-2) allowed just one run on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts over six innings in Tuesday's win over the Athletics.

This marked the first time Milone was able to get through six innings since April 15. It's been a rough go for Milone this year, but he induced nine groundouts and finally looked like he was at his top form. Still, he owns a brutal 5.45 ERA on the season and has struck out five batters or more just twice in seven starts.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Earns sixth win in quality start against Mariners

Keuchel (6-9) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings in a win Tuesday over the Mariners.

Keuchel now has a three-game winning streak as he is getting into a groove for the first time all year. That said, even though he has three quality starts in his past four outings, he has given up five home runs in that stretch. Keuchel's 5.02 ERA is in large part driven by a 1.2 HR/9 after he allowed just a 0.7 HR/9 in his Cy Young campaign last season.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Gives up 12 hits, two homers in loss to Yankees

Rodon (2-7) allowed six runs (five earned) on 12 hits and two walks over five innings in a loss Tuesday to the Yankees.

The Yankees hammered Rodon for four doubles and two home runs. As great as Rodon's stuff is, he has had a huge problem with the home run. He has now allowed 15 in just 16 starts, and this marks the fifth time he has allowed multiple homers in a single start. His ERA is up to 4.50 and his struggles can almost entirely be blamed on the long ball (1.5 HR/9).

  • Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Gives up season-high seven runs in Tuesday's loss

Odorizzi (3-4) was tagged for a season-high seven runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out four over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

The right-hander's inconsistency this season is enough to drive owners insane. Odorizzi was sporting a fine-looking 3.36 ERA through the season's first two months, but then posted a 4.96 ERA in June, and now got blasted in his first start of July. Over the past three seasons, he's been historically worse in the second half of the year, and his performance in recent weeks would indicate more of the same is on the way.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Coasts to fifth win of year versus Tigers

Carrasco (5-2) cruised to the victory in Tuesday's 12-1 game against the Tigers. He pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out five.

That makes three straight victories and five consecutive quality starts for Carrasco. His five strikeouts probably brought on some disappointment for owners, but the right-hander didn't need to do much more than pitch to contact with such a big lead in place. He'll take a 2.47 ERA into his next start Sunday against the Yankees.
