McClanahan (2-0) allowed three hits and no walks while striking out six across five scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Royals.

McClanahan needed only 63 pitches to record his 15 outs, and he's now completed at least five innings in three consecutive outings. In addition to the efficiency, he was also extremely deceptive and racked up 16 swinging strikes to back up his six punchouts. McClanahan has gotten off to a strong start to his big-league career, maintaining a 3.29 ERA with a 32:7 K:BB across 27.1 frames.

Boyd (2-6) allowed four earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five across five innings to take the loss Thursday against Cleveland.

Boyd stumbled out of the gate, as he allowed two hits and an earned run in the first inning. However, he settled in from there to toss four scoreless innings. Trouble ensued when he returned to the mound for the sixth frame, when he promptly allowed three earned runs without recording an out to spoil his start. Across his last three outings, Boyd has now surrendered 13 earned runs across 16 innings. Even so, he's maintained a 3.43 ERA with a 47:15 K:BB across 57.2 frames for the season.

Bieber (5-3) allowed one earned run on one hit and four walks while striking out 12 across seven innings to earn the win Thursday against the Tigers.

Bieber dominated the Tigers for much of the outing, logging his sixth double-digit strikeout effort of the season. That was offset a bit by his four free passes, which raised his BB/9 to 3.4 -- well above his career rate of 2.0. Even so, Bieber has maintained a strong 3.13 ERA with 110 strikeouts across 72 innings on the campaign.

Luzardo (finger) threw 25 pitches across 1.2 scoreless innings in his first rehab outing with Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.

Luzardo was slated to throw 25 pitches according to Lockard, so the outing kept him on target. However, that likely means he will need at least one more rehab outing before being activated, unless the team opts to bring him back as a reliever -- a possibility that has been mentioned by manager Bob Melvin.

Montgomery allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one batter over 4.2 innings in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays. He did not factor in the decision.

Bo Bichette homered off Montgomery in the third inning and manager Aaron Boone wouldn't let the lefty face Bichette a third time with a runner on base. The skipper lifted Montgomery for Jonathan Loaisiga with two outs in the fifth, which was frustrating for fantasy managers, but the move worked as Loaisiga struck out Bichette. Montgomery recently flashed his upside with an 11-strikeout gem against the White Sox, but he's also had a few letdowns this season. He will take a 4.22 ERA and 1.11 WHIP into the next homestand.

Ray (2-2) took the loss to the Yankees in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez both took the lefty yard, Nos. 13 and 14 allowed by Ray this season. Credit to Ray for not compounding those issues with a ton of walks like in seasons past -- he has amazingly handed out only 12 free passes in 52 innings so far in 2021. Ray will take a 3.81 ERA and 1.12 WHIP into his next start, which projects to be a "home" matchup against the Marlins in Buffalo.

Sandoval will replace Shohei Ohtani as the starting pitcher for Thursday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Registerreports.

Ohtani was scratched from the start a little over an hour before the game was set to begin. The decision is reportedly not injury related, so this may turn out to be only a spot start for Sandoval. Through 16.1 innings this season, he has posted a 4.96 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with a 13:8 K:BB.

Schmidt (elbow) has played long toss up to 120 feet but still hasn't resumed throwing off a mound, Max Goodman of Sports Illustrated reports.

Schmidt is very slowly working his way back from an elbow strain suffered back in February, and the organization appears to have no desire to rush his return. Manager Aaron Boone has indicated that the right-hander is doing well, but given his current rehab status, it seems unlikely that Schmidt will be able to return to game action before late June.

Gonzales (forearm) is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Gonzales will return to the major-league mound after an absence of just over a month due to a mild forearm strain. The southpaw will be on a pitch count during Tuesday's start and is expected to pitch between three and four innings. Gonzales made five starts prior to his injury and posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 28.1 innings.

German (4-3) allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five across 5.2 innings, taking the loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.

German made very few mistakes in the loss; however, the Blue Jays took full advantage of them with a pair of home runs by Bo Bichette and Marcus Semien. The 28-year-old is having a solid season with a 3.06 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP through 50 innings. He is averaging just one walk per five innings pitched. Currently, he is not scheduled to start in the Yankees' next six games.
