Suarez (2-0) took the win against Oakland on Sunday, pitching three scoreless and hitless innings. He allowed one walk and struck out four.

Starter Jose Quintana was forced out of the game after three innings due to a shoulder injury, leaving Suarez to protect a 4-2 lead. The southpaw thrived in the opportunity, allowing only one baserunner (on a seventh-inning walk) while striking out four. He has yielded only two earned runs over nine innings on the season.

Quantrill is slated to start for Cleveland in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader with the White Sox, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Due to the doubleheader, Cleveland will temporarily shift to a six-man rotation, which paves the way for Quantrill to pick up his first start of 2021. Over his 17 appearances out of the bullpen, Quantrill has logged a 2.03 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB in 26.2 innings. After covering a season-high three innings out of the bullpen in his most recent outing May 26, Quantrill should be stretched out enough to give Cleveland four or five innings Monday. He'll likely shift back to a relief role following the start.

Cleveland recalled McKenzie from Triple-A Columbus to start Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Though he was sent back to Columbus after tossing five shutout innings against the Tigers on May 26, McKenzie was never expected to remain in the minors for long with Cleveland still in need of a fifth starter with Zach Plesac (thumb) on the injured list. Assuming he's able to avoid a disastrous showing Monday that would result in another demotion, McKenzie should line up for a two-start week. His second turn will likely come Sunday in Baltimore.

Cortes pitched 3.2 innings against Detroit on Sunday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks while striking out three. He did not factor in the decision.

Starter Michael King needed 63 pitches to get through 2.1 frames, so the Yankees called upon Cortes to chew up the bulk of the middle innings. The southpaw immediately allowed a runner to score on an error, issued a walk and then served up a three-run double, though only one of the earned runs was charged to him. Cortes allowed at least one baserunner in each of his subsequent three frames, but he kept the Tigers off the scoreboard with the help of a pair of double plays. It remains to be seen if he'll stick around with the club beyond Sunday's outing.

Manager Dusty Baker said Monday that he anticipates McCullers (shoulder) will be able to rejoin the Astros' rotation in mid-June, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

McCullers hit the 10-day injured list last Wednesday with shoulder soreness but was already able to resume throwing Sunday. While Baker wasn't especially specific in establishing a return date for the right-hander, it looks like he could return to the mound without missing more than two or three turns through the rotation.

Rodon will start Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against Cleveland, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Rodon will look to follow up his strong 10-strikeout performance in his last outing. Jimmy Lambert will take the ball in Game 2, making his first major-league start.

Kopech has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, retroactive to May 28, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Kopech had been on the bereavement list since May 27, but now he will move to the injured list with the hamstring issue. The injury is not thought to be very serious, so it's possible that Kopech could return when eligible June 8.

Severino (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Sunday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Severino has been throwing bullpen sessions recently as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery, and he'll throw three simulated innings Monday. If he feels good afterward, the right-hander should return to game action in the minors Sunday. Severino will likely require several rehab starts to build up his workload, but he appears to be trending in the right direction.

Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom said Monday that Sale (elbow) continues to increase the intensity and length of his throwing sessions as he progresses toward rejoining the starting rotation sometime this summer, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

The veteran southpaw will continue to eye an early-to-mid-summer return from Tommy John surgery. Bloom's update doesn't necessarily provide a lot of information as far as a specific return date, but it does indicate that things are continuing to go well as far as the rehab process is concerned.

Irvin (3-7) allowed four runs on six hits over six innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Angels.

Despite the unsightly line, Irvin was decent for most of his outing Sunday. All four runs allowed came during a brutal second inning, including a solo home run by Jared Walsh and a two-run double by David Fletcher. His ERA jumped to 4.12 as he took a loss for the third straight start and fourth in his last five appearances. Irvin is lined up to start in Colorado next weekend.
