Manoah (4-1) picked up the win in Friday's 12-4 rout of the Red Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The rookie wasn't terribly efficient and exited the game in line for a loss after tossing 93 pitches (56 strikes), but the Jays erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Manoah in the win column. It was the fifth straight outing in which he's given up two earned runs or less, and the 23-year-old will take a 2.58 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 60:19 K:BB through his first 52.1 big-league innings into his next start.

Eovaldi (9-7) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox were routed 12-4 by the Blue Jays, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander seemed to be in firm control as he blanked Toronto through four frames, but everything fell apart for Boston in the fifth as the Jays sent 14 men to the plate and scored nine runs. Eovaldi has been tagged for at least five runs in three of his last five starts, saddling him with a 5.09 ERA since the beginning of July despite a strong 1.19 WHIP and 40:5 K:BB through 35.1 innings over that stretch.

Sandoval didn't factor in the decision against the Dodgers on Friday. He completed five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four.

The left-hander wasn't exactly sharp in the start -- he needed 96 pitches, 40 of which were balls, to get through five frames -- but he worked around seven hits and two walks to limit the Dodgers to two runs. Sandoval continues to function as a reliable arm out of the Angels rotation, as he has worked at least five innings in 12 straight outings dating back to May 22 and has registered a 3.04 ERA along with a 1.13 WHIP over that stretch. His next start is tentatively scheduled to come at home versus Houston next Friday.

Bassitt allowed a run on five hits over seven innings in Friday's win over the Rangers. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.

Bassitt worked through four shutout innings to start the game before yielding an RBI single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa in the fifth. The 6-foot-5 righty is sporting a 15:1 K:BB while allowing just one run over his last two outings, lowering his season ERA to 3.19 through 144 frames. Bassitt is lined up to face Cleveland on the road next week.

Greinke allowed three runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision versus Minnesota on Friday.

The right-hander notched his fourth quality start in his last eight outings, just meeting the requirements for the achievement. Greinke threw four innings of one-hit ball before Minnesota began to figure him out in the fifth and sixth. The 37-year-old has a 3.69 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 100:29 K:BB through 136.2 innings this season. Greinke lines up to make his next start versus the Angels during next weekend's three-game series.

Ober allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five innings, taking a no-decision versus Houston on Friday.

Minnesota continues to be cautious with the right-hander, as he worked right to his 80-pitch limit Friday. Ober was in line for the loss after allowing home runs to Taylor Jones and Chas McCormick, but Minnesota rallied from behind to get him off the hook. Ober owns a 4.99 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB across 52.1 innings, but he'll have to be at his best to have chances to win given his workload restrictions. He's expected to make his next start at home versus the White Sox next week.

Lynn allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out eight in six innings in Friday's win over the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.

Lynn recorded his fifth quality start in his last six outings by tossing six scoreless frames to begin Friday's contest, but he was removed from the game after allowing a single to Andrew Romine to lead off the bottom of the seventh. Romine came across later in the inning, and Craig Kimbrel gave up a three-run homer in the eighth that forced Lynn to settle for the no-decision. However, the 34-year-old starter has been dominant recently, as he's recorded a 1.85 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 39 innings across his last seven starts. The right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Minnesota on Wednesday.

Bieber (shoulder) played catch from 90 feet Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Bieber is nearly eligible to return from the 60-day injured list, as he's been sidelined with a shoulder strain since mid-June. His return isn't imminent, however, as he still has several steps to go in his recovery. His return timeline should become clearer once he's able to start throwing off a mound.

Manager Alex Cora announced Friday that Perez will exit the starting rotation and move to the bullpen, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The left-hander has an 8.53 ERA across his past five starts (19 innings) and will depart the rotation in favor of Tanner Houck. Chris Sale is also nearing his return from the injured list, which should close the door on Perez rejoining the rotation down the stretch.

Stripling (5-6) earned the win Thursday against Cleveland after tossing six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk while fanning six.

Stripling picked up his fifth win of the campaign while delivering one of his best outings of the year, as this was just his second scoreless appearance of the season. He's been pitching well of late and has given up two or fewer runs in three straight starts. However, this was his first quality start since mid-June.
