Suarez was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Suarez was sent down by the Angels on May 1, and he posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 10 innings over two starts in the minors. The Angels currently have six starters on their major-league roster, so Suarez will likely be available out of the bullpen for now after Cesar Valdez was designated for assignment.

Manager A.J. Hinch said that Rodriguez will likely be headed to the 15-day injured list after exiting his start in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Rays with left side discomfort, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Detroit may wait until after Thursday's off day to make the transaction official, but initial evaluations of Rodriguez's injury didn't provide much optimism about him being ready to go the next time his turn comes up in the rotation. The lefty is scheduled to undergo an MRI later Wednesday or Thursday, which should shed more light on the extent of the injury and reveal whether he's potentially dealing with an oblique strain. Rodriguez was pulled with one out in the first inning of his start Wednesday after showing diminished velocity while pumping in only 11 of his 23 pitches for strikes and allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks.

The Red Sox are expected to bring Wacha (intercostal) back from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Mariners, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Wacha apparently checked out fine after throwing a two-inning simulated game Monday, so unless he experiences a setback in the next couple of days, he'll be ready to reclaim his spot in Boston's rotation. Prior to being placed on the IL with left intercostal irritation, Wacha went 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 26 innings over his first five starts.

Odorizzi said his recent MRI revealed some strains and sprains to the ligaments of his right foot/ankle, but the Astros haven't established a timeline for his return to action, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Odorizzi noted that he initially feared he ruptured his Achilles' tendon Monday, when he was carted off the field after going down in pain while he attempted to run and cover first base. Though the right-hander is confident that he'll return to this season, he still appears destined to spent well beyond the minimum 15 days on the IL. A clearer target date for his return likely won't materialize until he's able to resume on-field workouts.

Manager Mark Kotsay said Wednesday that Irvin (shoulder) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to make his next start with the big club, but the Athletics have yet to determine which day he'll pitch, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Irvin is getting the green light to rejoin the Athletics after he allowed one run while striking out six over five innings in a rehab start for Single-A Stockton on Tuesday. He could be available to start for the Athletics as soon as Sunday against the Angels, but Kotsay could opt to give him an extra day of rest and have him make his return to the rotation during next week's series in Seattle. Oakland already opened up a spot in the rotation for the lefty by optioning Zach Logue to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Rodriguez was removed from Wednesday's start against the Rays in the bottom of the first inning due to an apparent injury, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Rodriguez allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout in one-third of an inning before he exited with a trainer. He displayed decreased velocity prior to his removal and threw just 11 of his 23 pitches for strikes. The nature and severity of his injury aren't yet clear, and it's unknown whether the southpaw will be able to make his next turn through the rotation. If healthy, Rodriguez tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Minnesota on Monday.

Martin was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

The right-hander made his major-league debut as the starter in Tuesday's matchup against the Royals, and he took the unlucky loss while allowing a run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven in five innings. The 25-year-old will head back to the minors after Lucas Giolito (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list, but Martin should be a candidate to rejoin the White Sox as a spot starter at some point.

The White Sox transferred Lynn (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Even though Lynn has been on the shelf all season after undergoing surgery April 5 to address a tendon tear in his right knee, the White Sox delayed moving him to the 60-day IL with the hope that he might narrowly avoid missing the first two months of the campaign. Chicago finally scrapped those plans Wednesday, with the transaction allowing the team to free up a 40-man roster spot for Lucas Giolito (illness), who was activated from the COVID-19-related IL ahead of his scheduled start against the Royals. Lynn's placement on the 60-day IL shouldn't be viewed as a major setback, as he'll still be eligible to make his 2022 debut as early as June 6. The right-hander is scheduled to face hitters Friday and could head out on a minor-league rehab assignment shortly thereafter.

The White Sox reinstated Giolito (illness) from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Royals in Kansas City.

In order to clear room for Giolito on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster, the White Sox transferred right-hander Lance Lynn (knee) from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL and optioned right-hander Davis Martin to Triple-A Charlotte. Giolito was on the COVID-19 IL for five days and hasn't pitched since May 10, so it's possible that he faces some light restrictions with his workload as he returns to the mound Wednesday.

Rodriguez struck out a season-high 11 while allowing three walks and three hits across 5.1 scoreless innings in a win for Triple-A Norfolk over Charlotte on Tuesday.

He's now sitting on a 2.65 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 57:13 K:BB across 37.1 innings this year -- right in line with his history of dominance throughout the minor leagues. There aren't a lot of flaws to be found in GrayRod's game, but it's worth noting that 10 of those 13 walks have come in his last four starts. He also hasn't been permitted to go deeper than 5.1 innings in any outing this year. In short, he isn't superhuman, but he's still one of the most exciting pitching prospects to come along in quite some time. With five plus pitches and velocity that can touch 100, he has the look of an instant-impact arm. The only question left is when the O's will see fit to promote him.
