Springs (3-3) was charged with the loss Friday against the Guardians after allowing three runs six hits with five strikeouts and one walk over five innings.

The left-hander kept Cleveland scoreless through three innings, but he gave up a run in the fourth and a two-run homer to Jose Ramirez in the fifth. Springs is without a victory in his past five starts, and he has a 5.32 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 27:4 K:BB across 23.2 frames during that stretch. He tentatively lines up to make his next start in Detroit next week.

Manoah (elbow) is feeling better Saturday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Manoah exited Friday's game against the Tigers with a right elbow contusion after being struck by a comebacker, but he underwent X-rays that came back negative. He'll rest for a few days before throwing a side session, and while the Blue Jays hope he won't need to miss a turn through the rotation, his availability for his next start will likely be determined based on how he feels after his upcoming throwing session.

Bieber (5-6) allowed a run on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings, earning the win over the Rays on Friday.

Bieber gave up six runs in his previous start, but he was back on track Friday with a sharp outing. He alternated good and bad starts in July, going 2-2 with a 4.23 ERA and 1.05 WHIP for the month in four turns through the rotation. The right-hander has a 3.41 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 118:28 K:BB in 118.2 innings through 19 starts. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the Diamondbacks next week.

Bello (0-3) was charged with the loss Friday versus the Brewers after giving up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks across 4.1 innings.

The 23-year-old replaced Austin Davis during the third inning with the game still scoreless, but Milwaukee scored single tallies in the sixth and seventh to put Bello on the hook for the loss. Bello made his big-league debut in early July and has an 8.82 ERA, 2.27 WHIP and 13:11 K:BB in 16.1 innings over his first four outings.

Cole didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-5 win over the Royals, surrendering five runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

The right-hander showed his usual dominance and blanked Kansas City through four frames, but Cole ran into trouble in the fifth, eventually serving up a three-run blast to Salvador Perez. He exited with the Yankees down 5-3, but a massive rally in the eighth erased the deficit. Cole generated 19 swinging strikes among his 100 pitches, and he'll take a 3.30 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 162:32 K:BB through 125.1 innings into his next start.

Bubic didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Homers by Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge accounted for all the damage off Bubic, but he still delivered his third straight quality start and fourth in his last eight outings. The southpaw's numbers on the season remain rough, but since rejoining the Royals' rotation at the beginning of June, Bubic has a 3.84 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 51:28 K:BB through 61 innings.

Verlander (14-3) gave up one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out five over 7.2 innings to earn the win in an 11-1 rout of the Mariners on Friday.

Verlander continued his push for the third Cy Young Award of his career by pitching another gem against his division rivals. The right-hander is now 5-1 with a 2.34 ERA over 42.1 innings of work against the Mariners this season. The 39-year-old veteran leads MLB with 14 wins and boasts a sparking 1.81 ERA. He's projected to face Cleveland on the road next week.

Ray (8-8) gave up four earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings to take the loss in an 11-1 defeat to the Astros on Friday.

Ray struggled with his control, issuing four free passes to a dangerous Astros lineup that made him pay with good situational hitting. Ray was chased in the third inning after a walk to Mauricio Dubon, which raised his pitch count to 84. It has been a difficult first season in Seattle for the 2021 AL Cy Young Award winner. Ray continues to get plenty of punchouts with his power slider but his BB/9 has ticked up to 3.1 from 2.4 in 2021, while his LOB% has dropped to 77.5 percent from 90.1 percent last season. Ray is tentatively scheduled to start against the depleted Angels lineup next week.

Lynn (1-4) gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out eight over 5.2 innings to take the loss in a 7-3 defeat against the Athletics on Friday.

Lynn's 2022 struggles continued on Friday night against the second-lowest-scoring team. The Athletics took Lynn deep for three home runs, including a couple which came on mistake pitches up in the zone. Lynn didn't make his first start of the season until mid-June due to a meniscus tear, and he has yet to find his groove since returning. The 35-year-old veteran starter has only one win this season to go along with a career-worst 6.42 ERA. He is tentatively expected to make his next start against the Royals next week.

Kaprielian (2-5) gave up one earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to earn the win in a 7-3 victory over the White Sox on Friday.

Kaprielian took advantage of the reeling White Sox, spinning six innings of one-run ball to give his team the upset victory over Lance Lynn on the road. The 28-year-old Kaprielian leaned primarily on his fastball and slider to keep hitters off balance and cruise to his second win in 16 starts. The right-hander now has a pedestrian 4.50 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 80 innings in 2022. He tentatively lines up for another favorable matchup against the depleted Angels lineup next week.
