Kopech (4-7) took the loss Monday versus the Royals. He allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven innings.

Kopech hadn't allowed a home run in either of his last two starts, but he was tagged for solo shots by Salvador Perez and Whit Merrifield in this contest. The seven innings Kopech pitched matched a season high, and this was the first time in seven starts he didn't walk multiple batters. The right-hander owns a 3.12 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 81:46 K:BB through 95.1 innings in 19 starts. He's projected for a road start against the Rangers this weekend.

Skubal was removed from Monday's 5-3 extra-inning loss to the Twins with left arm fatigue. He struck out four and allowed three hits and two walks over five shutout frames before exiting the contest.

Skubal shined in a third straight start, but took a no-decision despite exiting with a 2-0 lead before the arm issue cropped up. Per Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, Skubal said after the game that he's planning to make his next start, but that may be contingent on him throwing a bullpen session without discomfort in the next few days. The southpaw tentatively lines up to make his next turn through the rotation Saturday versus the Rays.

Gray was removed from Monday's game against the Orioles in the second inning with left side discomfort.

Gray's injury forced him to leave Monday's outing after he threw just 48 pitches. It remains to be seen if he will be available to make what was set to be his second start of the week Saturday.

Hill (knee) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The Red Sox have confirmed starters for the next few days, and it was reported earlier in the day that Hill would not start for the big club Wednesday as scheduled, so perhaps he is going to work out of the bullpen as a piggyback option for now. He gave up one run on four hits and zero walks while striking out five in three innings in his rehab outing last week.

Velasquez (finger) is on the verge of beginning a rehab assignment, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Velasquez has missed nearly a month with his injury, but he is just about to enter the final stage of his recovery. It's unclear how many times Velasquez will throw in the minors before rejoining the big club, but he should do so at some point this month.

Bello is expected to start Wednesday against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Bello worked behind an opener in his last outing, but it appears he will open the game on the mound in his next appearance.

Hill (knee) will not return to action Wednesday against the Astros, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

It was reported earlier Monday that Hill was on track to return to action Wednesday, but it turns out he is not ready to rejoin Boston's rotation just yet. Brayan Bello will get the nod Wednesday for the Red Sox.

Schmidt was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

The Yankees traded for Frankie Montas and Lou Trivino earlier in the day, so they need to clear space on the active roster. Schmidt has a 2.40 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 29 strikeouts in 30 innings across 16 MLB appearances this year.

Severino (lat) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.

Severino began a throwing program Monday, but with him moving to the longer of the two injured lists, he will not be eligible to return to action until Sept. 13.

Keller's next scheduled start will come Tuesday against the White Sox, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Keller was lined up to start Monday night, but the Royals decided to go with Daniel Lynch instead and push Keller back a day.
