Tigers' Joey Wentz: Joining big-league rotation
Wentz will be called up from Triple-A Toledo to start Friday for the Tigers in Kansas City, Adrian Garro of MLB.com reports.
Wentz is expected to stick in the rotation for a handful of starts the rest of the season, per the report. He has a 1.25 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB in 21.2 innings over his last five starts at Triple-A.

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Red Sox's Michael Wacha: Fans seven in no-decision
Wacha allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings against the Rays on Monday. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.
Wacha was in line for the win before Boston's bullpen gave up the game-winning run in the seventh inning. He gave up an RBI single to Harold Ramirez in the first inning followed by an RBI double from Randy Arozarena in the fifth. The 31-year-old righty has given up two or fewer runs in four of his last five starts, lowering his season ERA to an impressive 2.58 through 101 innings. Wacha is expected to start in Baltimore this weekend.

Jordan Lyles RP | KC
Orioles' Jordan Lyles: Not starting Game 2
Lyles (illness) isn't starting the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Manager Brandon Hyde said after Monday's matinee that Lyles would start the second game of the twin bill. However, Keegan Akin is warming up with starting catcher Robinson Chirinos ahead of the nightcap, and Akin has ultimately been confirmed as the starting pitcher. Lyles was feeling sick earlier in the day, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available out of the bullpen for Monday's nightcap or when he'll be able to make his next start.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Royals' Zack Greinke: Starting Wednesday
Greinke (forearm) will start Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Greinke landed on the injured list in late August due to a right forearm injury, but he'll return to action following a relatively brief IL stint. The right-hander won't require a rehab assignment prior to rejoining the Royals, so it's not yet clear whether he'll be on a pitch count during Wednesday's outing. Over six starts following the All-Star break, he's posted a 2.90 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 31 innings.

Orioles' Jordan Lyles: Good to go for Game 2
Lyles (illness) will start the second game of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays at Camden Yards, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
Heading into the day, Lyles had been expected to take the hill for the early game, but the Orioles opted to push him back to the second contest of the day after he felt under the weather upon reporting to the ballpark. Lyles evidently showed enough improvement as the afternoon progressed to start the second game, though he could face a quick hook if he shows any signs of fatigue while he's out on the mound.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Mariners' Tommy Milone: Back in action at Triple-A
Milone (neck) returned to action for Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday and allowed four earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two over 1.2 innings.
Seattle released Milone on Aug. 4 while he on the injured list with a cervical muscle strain, but he re-signed with the organization on a minor-league deal two weeks later. He still needed some additional time to move past the injury before he was cleared to pitch for the Mariners' top affiliate last week. Milone was deployed as a starter Thursday and looks like he'll continue to get stretched out as a member of Tacoma's rotation.

Cole Ragans RP | KC
Rangers' Cole Ragans: Could return Wednesday
Ragans (calf) appears on track to return from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game in Houston, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The Rangers haven't provided an update on Ragans' condition since he was forced to the IL on Aug. 26 with a left calf strain, but interim manager Tony Beasley previously downplayed the injury and fully expected the rookie to return in the minimum amount of time. Texas' decision to designate fill-in starter Dallas Keuchel for assignment Sunday seemingly supports the notion that Ragans will be ready to rejoin the rotation by the middle of the week. The Rangers could opt for a bullpen day Wednesday in the event Ragans isn't quite ready to go for the series finale in Houston.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Twins' Sonny Gray: Start pushed to Thursday
Gray (hamstring) is expected to throw a bullpen session Tuesday and is lined up to make his next start Thursday versus the Yankees, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Gray was originally expected to start Wednesday against New York, but he'll have his outing pushed back a day after his bullpen session was moved from Monday to Tuesday. The right-hander left his last outing Friday versus the White Sox early with right hamstring tightness, but he appears on track to avoid a trip to the injured list.

Jordan Lyles RP | KC
Orioles' Jordan Lyles: Feeling sick, expected to start
Lyles (illness) is expected to start Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
Lyles woke up under the weather Monday, forcing the team to push him from starting Game 1 to starting Game 2 of the team's doubleheader with Toronto. Manger Brandon Hyde said he's "fairly confident" that the left-hander will be able to make the start, but his progress before the contest will ultimately decide if he can give it a go.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Next rehab start coming Wednesday
Severino (lat) is scheduled to make his next rehab start Wednesday with Double-A Somerset, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
Severino was cleared to begin a rehab assignment Thursday at Single-A Tampa and looked sharp over two scoreless innings, striking out three while allowing one hit and no walks. According to Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record, the Yankees are anticipating that Severino will be ready to rejoin the big-league rotation following Wednesday's rehab start, though he could be capped around 70 pitches in his first outing back from the 60-day injured list. Unless the Yankees elect to expand their rotation to six men, Severino's potential return from the IL next week would likely result in Domingo German moving to the bullpen.
