Glasnow (elbow) will make another rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Glasnow came through his first rehab outing without issue, and he will throw again six days after that appearance. The right-hander threw only 19 pitches his last time out, and Glasnow could return in a relief role for the Rays before the season ends.

Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Crawford (shoulder) has made slower progress than expected in his recovery, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Crawford has been sidelined with a right shoulder impingement since the beginning of September and hasn't yet thrown a bullpen. In spite of his slow progress so far, the Red Sox remain hopeful that the 26-year-old will be cleared to return prior to the end of the regular season.

Eovaldi (shoulder) will play catch Saturday and throw a bullpen session Sunday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Manager Alex Cora said in early September that Eovaldi wasn't progressing as quickly as the team had hoped, but the right-hander threw a bullpen late last week and will throw off a mound once again Sunday. The team remains optimistic Eovaldi will be able to return from the injured list before the end of the season, and the next steps in his recovery will likely be determined based on how he feels early next week.

Verlander (calf) threw around 30 pitches in the bullpen Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

It's not clear if Verlander was throwing at maximum effort Friday, but regardless, pitching coach Josh Miller relayed that "everything went well." Verlander will throw again in a few days, and the Astros should provide another update on his status after that.

Kaprielian was scratched from Friday's start against the White Sox due to a right middle finger laceration, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The Athletics didn't initially provide a reason for scratching Kaprielian from Friday's start, but he's apparently dealing with a finger issue. Austin Pruitt will take over as Friday's starter, while it's not yet clear when Kaprielian will be able to return to the mound.

Kaprielian is no longer starting Friday's game against the White Sox, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Kaprielian was initially listed as the probable starter for Friday's matchup, but Austin Pruitt will instead begin the game on the mound for the Athletics. It's not yet clear whether Kaprielian is dealing with an injury or whether he'll be available out of the bullpen as a bulk reliever.

Lyles (illness) is expected to start Saturday against the Red Sox, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

The 31-year-old's return timeline was murky earlier this week, but he threw a bullpen session Thursday and now appears set to take the mound for Saturday's contest, barring a setback. Lyles was scratched from his previously scheduled start in Monday's doubleheader versus Toronto due to an illness, but it appears his absence will be limited to one turn through the rotation.

Severino (lat) is eligible to return from the injured list Sunday and could be activated for the Yankees' two-game series against Boston that begins Sept. 13, per MLB.com.

Severino made his second rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Wednesday, pitching four innings and allowing two runs on four hits with four strikeouts over four innings. The right-hander threw 45 pitches (35 for strikes) and touched 99 mph on the radar gun, per Dom Amore of the Hartford Courant. General manager Brian Cashman has indicated the goal of having Severino get in five big-league starts before the postseason, and having him activated next week would fit in with that timeframe.

Raya has a 3.05 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 69:22 K:BB through 61 innings for Single-A Fort Myers this season.

A 2020 fourth-round pick, Raya didn't pitch in 2021 due to a shoulder strain, but he's come back with an impressive pro debut this year. He's missed some time this year as well, as one might surmise from his relatively thin innings total, but Raya has looked good when he's been on the mound. His fastball sits in the mid-to-high 90s and he has a quality curveball, slider and change as well, so the stuff is there for the 20-year-old to grow into a big-league starter. Durability will be the big question for Raya, but he's shown enough upside to make himself into a target for dynasty managers.

Bielak was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday.

Bielak spent the last week and a half in the Astros' bullpen but made just one appearance during his time in the big leagues, allowing a run on two hits and a walk while striking out two in two innings. He'll head back to the minors after Ryan Pressly (neck) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list.
