Severino (lat) will make another rehab start Thursday, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Severino tossed 45 pitches during a rehab appearance at Double-A Somerset on Wednesday, and he'll have another minor-league outing late next week. Assuming he feels good afterward, the Yankees hope that Severino will be activated Sept. 21, when the team takes on the Pirates at home.

Severino (lat) said Saturday that he could require another rehab start prior to rejoining the Yankees, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Severino has been effective over two outings at Double-A Somerset, posting a 3.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in six innings. While he recently expressed optimism that he'd be activated sometime this week, he could ultimately require at least one more minor-league appearance. However, the team will monitor him in the coming days to determine the next steps in his recovery. The right-hander threw just 45 pitches during his most recent outing, so another rehab appearance would likely allow him to increase his pitch count prior to returning from the injured list.

Lynch (4-10) took the loss to the Tigers on Friday, allowing six runs on 10 hits while striking out four and walking none over 3.2 innings.

The good for Lynch was that he did not walk any batters, but the rest of his stat line makes up the bad and the ugly. He threw 56 of 88 pitches for strikes. Lynch has had some ugly outings lately, giving up 24 earned runs across his last 40.2 innings for a 5.31 ERA since the start of August. The young lefty has earned just two quality starts this season. His ERA now sits at 5.14 on the season.

Wentz (1-1) earned the win against the Royals Friday, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out five and walking one over 6.2 innings.

Wentz looked brilliant Friday, tossing 53 of 87 pitches for strikes and limiting the Royals to just three baserunners, all of whom were stranded. Wentz had not appeared in a game for the Tigers since May 31, giving up six runs across 6.2 innings in two starts before being demoted. The lefty was able to cut his ERA in half Friday, taking it to 4.05 through 13.1 frames.

Montas (5-12) took the loss to the Rays on Friday, allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out four and walking four over 5.2 innings.

Montas had an ugly game against the Rays on Friday, allowing 13 baserunners on nine hits and four walks. He was inefficient, tossing 63 of 106 pitches for strikes across 5.2 frames. Although he gave up four runs, none were via the long ball. Instead, Montas was burned by three doubles that scored all four runs. This was the eighth time in his last 10 games where the righty failed to make it to the end of the sixth inning and he has not earned a quality start since June 28. Friday's performance raised his ERA to 3.89.

Rasmussen (10-4) earned the win against the Yankees on Friday, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out 10 and walking none over six innings.

Rasmussen tossed a six-inning gem Friday, throwing 68 of 94 pitches for strikes and stranding six Yankees baserunners. In typical Tampa fashion, it has been very careful with his innings, as Rasmussen has finished the sixth inning only seven times in 24 starts. The righty earned a quality start in each game where he has lasted through the sixth inning or longer, including Friday's win over the Yanks. The 10 strikeouts marks a single-game season high for Rasmussen, who will take a 2.57 ERA into his next appearance.

McCullers (3-1) gave up two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win in a 4-3 victory over the Angels on Friday.

McCullers continued to impress since coming off the injured list with a flexor tendon strain in August. He handled the Angles with ease, racking up 15 whiffs thanks in part to a nasty inside slider to right-handed hitters that broke back over the plate with plenty of movement. The only damage came on a two-run home run to Mike Trout, who has been on fire as of late. McCullers will carry an excellent ERA of 2.20 into a favorable start next week that tentatively lines him up for a meeting with the Athletics.

Lorenzen gave up one earned run on three hits and four walks while striking out two in a 4-3 loss to the Astros on Friday. He did not factor into the decision.

Lorenzen held his own against the dangerous Astros lineup, making it into the sixth inning before giving up his first and only earned run on a solo shot by Jeremy Pena. The four walks issued by Lorenzen are a sign that he might still be a little rusty after just coming off of the 60-day injured list due to a shoulder injury. Lorenzen was forced to settle for a no-decision and tallied only his 57th strikeout of the year in 76.2 innings pitched. The 30-year-old right-hander will carry an ERA of 4.70 into his next expected start against the Mariners.

Quantrill (12-5) gave up two runs (one earned) on nine hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win in a 7-6 victory over the Twins on Friday.

Quantrill came through for his team in an intense divisional game with playoff implications. The 27-year-old right-hander gave up nine hits, but he kept the ball in the yard and lasted just long enough to earn the win on 96 pitches. The seven strikeouts are tied for his season high and he lowered his ERA to a respectable 3.50 with the performance. He will carry a WHIP of 1.22 into his next expected start against the Angels.

Bundy (8-7) gave up seven earned runs on 12 hits and no walks while striking out one over 4.2 innings to take the loss in a 7-6 defeat against the Guardians on Friday.

Bundy's start got off on the wrong foot, as two runners quickly reached base on a couple of cheap infield singles. The Guardians made Bundy pay by cashing them in as part of a big four-run first inning. Ultimately, Bundy gave up three home runs on 94 pitches, including two off the bat of Oscar Gonzalez. Bundy's ERA rose to 4.68 with the appearance. He tossed five scoreless innings his last time out against the White Sox and can be an effective streamer when matched up against the right opposition, but he didn't have what it takes in this intense high-stakes divisional contest. He is expected to take the bump next week against the Royals.
