McKenzie allowed three runs on seven hits over seven innings against Minnesota on Friday. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.

Despite the quality start, McKenzie was in danger of taking his 12th loss before Cleveland staged a late comeback. He's now given up three or fewer runs in eight straight starts, registering a 2.32 ERA and a 54:11 K:BB during that stretch. He also forced double-digit swinging strikes in four consecutive outings. On the year, McKenzie owns a 3.08 ERA across 28 appearances. The 25-year-old is expected to face the White Sox on the road next week.

Wacha yielded a run on seven hits over seven innings against Kansas City on Friday. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Wacha tossed five scoreless innings before the Royals opened the game's scoring in the sixth on Salvador Perez's RBI single. The 31-year-old righty lowered his season ERA to 2.61 with a 92:26 K:BB through 20 starts. Since the start of June, Wacha is 8-0 with a 2.70 ERA across 73.1 frames. He's lined up to start in Cincinnati next week.

Ober (groin) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list prior to Friday's start against the Guardians, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Ober has been on the injured list since early June due to a groin strain, but he recently completed a three-game rehab assignment in which he allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out 12 in 11.2 innings. The right-hander has made seven starts for the Twins this year and posted a 4.01 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 33.2 innings.

Civale (forearm) will start Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Despite giving up four earned runs on seven hits, including two home runs, in 2.2 innings in Thursday's rehab start, Civale is apparently ready to rejoin the big-league rotation. Five of his eight outs came via strikeout in that lone rehab appearance. He could potentially make two starts next week if Cleveland goes with a five-man rotation, with a second one coming next Sunday in Texas, but it seems likely he'll face some sort of workload restriction in at least his first outing back.

Verlander (calf) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of Friday's start against the Athletics, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Verlander has been on the injured list with a calf injury since Aug. 30, but he began a throwing program nearly two weeks ago and is ready to return. The right-hander felt good after throwing a bullpen session this week, but it's not yet clear whether he'll face any workload restrictions in the home start against Oakland. Hunter Brown should move to the bullpen now that Verlander is healthy, while Seth Martinez was sent down Friday.

Gaddis was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Gaddis made his second major-league start Thursday against the Astros but gave up seven runs in four innings. He's now given up 15 runs in 7.1 innings over two appearances with the Guardians and will head back to the minors after Carlos Vargas was recalled Friday.

Lynch (4-11) took the loss against Minnesota on Thursday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over five innings.

All three runs against Lynch came via the long ball, as Carlos Correa launched a solo shot in the first inning and Nick Gordon swatted a two-run homer in the second. Lynch didn't allow a run over his final three frames, but the Royals were able to provide him with only two runs of support. On a positive note, the southpaw racked up 16 swinging strikes and finished with eight punchouts -- his most since June 17. He's struggled to a 5.15 ERA this season, and the long ball has been a problem of late, as Lynch has allowed multiple homers in all three of his September starts.

Bundy did not factor in the decision against Kansas City on Thursday, pitching four innings and allowing two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out two batters.

Bundy gave up a run in the second and another in the fourth, but he finished the latter frame holding a 3-2 lead. Manager Rocco Baldelli opted not to let him go out for the fifth, preventing Bundy from qualifying for the win. The veteran hurler had thrown only 60 pitches at the time of his departure, so Baldelli may have simply been avoiding having Bundy go through the order for the third time. This was Bundy's shortest start since Aug. 6.

McClanahan (12-5) allowed three hits and one walk while striking out five across five scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Blue Jays.

This marked McClanahan's first start since being placed on the injured list Aug. 31 with a left shoulder impingement. He was limited to only 69 pitches but was otherwise excellent, racking up 14 swinging strikes to shut down a strong Blue Jays lineup. The Rays will likely continue to play it safe with McClanahan's workload, but he's a good bet to turn in pristine ratios while on the mound. Across 152.1 innings this season, he has a 2.14 ERA and 187:31 K:BB.

Lynn (7-5) allowed two earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six across 6.1 innings to earn the win Thursday against the Guardians.

Lynn was aided by plenty of run support and got little resistance from the Cleveland offense to earn his seventh win of the season. He's now turned in five consecutive quality starts and has allowed only four earned runs across 32.1 innings in that span while posting a 38:4 K:BB. After a disastrous start to the campaign, Lynn has a 3.99 ERA in 103.2 total frames.
