Bradish (foot) will play catch Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bradish probably didn't need the full 15 days to recover from his right foot contusion, but the Orioles wanted to play it safe with the right-hander, placing him on the IL earlier this week. He is on pace to rejoin Baltimore's rotation when first eligible April 19.

Lyles (0-2) allowed five earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out nine across 5.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Lyles was hit hard throughout the start, as he served up two home runs and five total extra-base hits while allowing the Blue Jays to score at least one run in four of the six innings he pitched. Lyles did rack up nine strikeouts, which matched his highest total since 2019. Through two starts in the current campaign, he has a 4.91 ERA but a more impressive 11:2 K:BB across 11 frames.

Gausman (1-1) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out seven across six shutout innings to earn the win Thursday against the Royals.

Gausman allowed only one hit through six innings and was ultimately pulled after allowing the first two batters of the seventh inning to reach base. He took advantage of pitcher-friendly Kauffman Field by piling up seven flyball outs without allowing an extra-base knock. Gausman has not surrendered an earned run across his first two outings -- spanning 12 innings -- while also maintaining an impressive 14:3 K:BB in that span.

Lynn (0-1) allowed eight earned runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out five across 4.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Giants.

Lynn allowed multiple runs in three of the five innings he pitched, and he served up three homers in the disastrous outing. The only positive to be taken from the start is that he was throwing around his typical velocity, so it doesn't appear that he's dealing with any type of injury. Even though his first outing of the season saw him give up just two runs over 5.2 innings, Lynn has now walked seven batters across his first 10 frames, which is a stark contrast to last year's performance since he issued just 19 walks in 21 starts.

Sale (1-0) allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven across five innings to earn the win Thursday against the Tigers.

Sale looked to be in for a poor outing after serving up a two-run homer in the second inning and surrendering an additional run one frame later. However, he closed the outing well and picked up 10 swinging strikes across 74 total pitches to go along with six groundball outs. Sale wasn't dominant, but the effort was a significant step forward from the seven earned runs he allowed in his initial outing of the new campaign.

Whitlock (hip) allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out eight and walking one across six innings during a rehab outing with Double-A Portland on Thursday.

Whitlock is still recovering from surgery on his hip that he underwent last September, but he is expected to make his season debut Tuesday in Tampa Bay. He's been sharp in two rehab appearances, completing 10 innings while allowing only two earned runs and punching out 14 between Boston's two highest minor-league affiliates. It's unclear if he'll be on a pitch count in his initial starts with the Red Sox, but his ability to pitch deep into Thursday's outing is an encouraging sign.

Turnbull said he battled a neck stinger toward the end of his start Thursday against the Red Sox, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Turnbull had to turn his neck abruptly while attempting to dodge a comebacker off the bat of Enrique Hernandez in the top of the sixth inning. He stayed in the game initially, but his velocity was down and he ultimately got lifted after giving up a single, a double and a walk in the same frame. The 30-year-old right-hander yielded five total earned runs on five hits and two walks while falling to 0-2 on the season. He tallied only one strikeout. Up next, assuming the Tigers stay on their current rotation schedule, is a tough road start versus the Blue Jays.

Costeiu is out indefinitely with an elbow injury, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

The injury was originally reported as an oblique issue, but Mayo says the injury that sidelined Costeiu last July was an elbow issue that has not yet been resolved. A 6-foot righty, Costeiu has an excellent fastball/changeup combination that could fit in a middle relief or swing man role down the line. He would likely head to Double-A Rocket City once healthy, but it's also possible this issue leads to season-ending surgery.

Bello (forearm) will need at least one more rehab start before being an option for the Red Sox' rotation, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Bello threw 72 pitches over five innings in an extended spring training outing Wednesday and will likely move up to Triple-A Worcester next. He should get closer to 90 or so pitches in that start as he continues to stretch back out. That could potentially put Bello in line to rejoin the Red Sox next weekend, although it might not be guaranteed that he's immediately added to the major-league club.

McClanahan (2-0) allowed two earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six across six innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Nationals.

McClanahan made his outing more difficult early on by walking a batter in each of the first three innings. He escaped those frames having allowed only one run, and he then surrendered an additional run in the fourth after allowing four consecutive batters to reach base. Despite some shakiness, the bottom line turned out fine for McClanahan, and he backed his six strikeouts with 14 swinging strikes across 94 pitches. Through two starts, he owns a 1.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with a 12:5 K:BB across 12 innings.
