Heaney (2-1) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against the Athletics. He struck out four.

Heaney has allowed just two earned runs over his last 16 innings pitched after giving up seven across 2.2 innings April 4 against Baltimore. The southpaw has been nearly unstoppable since that game, as he also tied the AL record with nine straight strikeouts against Kansas City on April 10. The 31-year-old is tentatively slated to face the Yankees at home in his next start.

Castillo didn't factor in the decision against St. Louis on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over five innings.

Castillo labored in the outing, needing 100 pitches to get through five frames and surrendering season highs with seven hits and three runs. Still, he racked up an impressive 19 swinging strikes and punched out eight batters. All of the damage against the hurler came in the first and third innings, and Castillo finished his outing by retiring the final five batters he faced -- three by strikeout. The right-hander is tentatively projected to take on the Blue Jays in Toronto his next time out.

Anderson did not factor in the decision against Kansas City on Saturday, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and no walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out one batter.

Anderson began his outing with two scoreless frames, but he couldn't keep the positives going from there. The southpaw gave up a run in the third and two in the fourth before departing with one out in the sixth after loading the bases. Two of those runners came around to score to round out Anderson's poor stat line. The veteran hurler began the campaign with six scoreless innings against Oakland, but he's since given up 16 earned runs over his subsequent 14 frames. His ERA now sits at an unsightly 7.20, and his 11:8 K:BB is far from promising.

Greinke allowed four runs on seven hits and no walks over five innings against the Angels on Saturday. He struck out two batters and didn't factor in the decision.

Greinke tossed two scoreless frames before giving up a run in the third. He yielded a solo homer to Hunter Renfroe in the fourth inning and two-run shot to Mike Trout in the fifth before departing. The veteran hurler didn't allow any long balls in his first two starts this season but has served up up five homers over three games since. Greinke's given Kansas City decent depth by going at least five frames in each of his five starts, but his 0-3 record and 4.61 ERA are far from inspiring.

Gibson (4-0) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over 6.1 innings against Detroit. He struck out 11.

Gibson had 13 strikeouts in his first four starts of the season. He now has 24 punchouts in 30 innings. The 35-year-old was chased in the seventh inning after a Zach McKinstry solo home run, but that was the only significant issue for Gibson all game. The righty is lined up to face these same Tigers in his next start.

Wentz (0-3) took the loss Saturday, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks over four innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Wentz rolled through the first two innings and had two outs in the third before allowing four straight batters to reach. James McCann added a home run in the fourth to put five runs on the lefty. Wentz was good in seven starts last season, posting a 3.03 ERA, but after four outings in 2023, Wentz has a 7.56 ERA through 16.2 innings.

Whitlock (1-2) took the loss Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over four innings against the Brewers. He struck out one.

Whitlock was shelled Saturday and only picked up one strikeout. Whitlock has had an inconsistent start to 2023, with two starts allowing five runs and one start going seven innings and conceding just a single run. The 26-year-old has a 6.19 ERA in 16 innings this season.

Valdez (2-2) earned the win Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits without walking a batter over seven innings against Atlanta. He struck out nine.

Valdez pitched around loud contact Saturday. Atlanta hitters had an exit velocity of 95 mph or more on 13 of Valdez's pitches, but six of those resulted in outs. A year after leading MLB in quality starts, the lefty has posted four straight quality starts. Valdez has a 2.25 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 32 innings.

Raya (shoulder) gave up two runs on a hit and three walks over 2.2 innings Friday with four strikeouts for High-A Cedar Rapids. He reached 97 mph with his fastball, TwinsDaily.com reports.

It was Raya's first outing of the season as he began the season on the injured list after experiencing shoulder tightness during spring training. Raya made a strong impression last season at Low-A Fort Myers with a 3.05 ERA and 10.5 K/9. He'll need to show he can stay healthy at High-A.

Cease did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over four innings during a 4-3 loss to the Rays in extras. He struck out five.

Cease allowed a two-run home run to Randy Arozarena in the first inning and was pulled with 101 pitches after he surrendered back-to-back singles to start the bottom of the fifth. The right-hander has given up three or fewer runs in each of his first five starts, but his four innings Saturday were a season low. He currently sports a 2.73 ERA and has a 34:13 K:BB through 26.1 innings.
