Lopez (2-2) earned a win over the Royals on Friday. He struck out seven batters while allowing six runs on eight hits and a walk over six-plus frames.

Lopez gave up two runs through five innings before Kansas City's lineup figured him out late. He allowed two runs in the sixth, including Salvador Perez's solo homer, and was charged with two more in the seventh before recording an out. Lopez is now sporting a 4.00 ERA after being tagged with 11 runs over his last two starts. He's lined up to face the White Sox in Chicago next week.

Severino (lat) threw 40 pitches over three up-and-down sessions Friday in a live session before the Yankees' game against the Rangers, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Severino continues to make strong progress from his lat strain, and he increased his workload slightly after participating in two sessions Monday. The right-hander is trending toward a rehab assignment, but nothing has been scheduled yet. It's likely Severino rejoins the Yankees in the middle of May if he has no setbacks.

Rucinski (hamstring) was activated from the injured list and will make his A's debut Friday versus the Reds.

Rucinski missed the first four weeks of the 2023 regular season after suffering a left hamstring strain toward the end of spring training, but he's ready to rock now following a three-start minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas. The 34-year-old right-hander signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Oakland over the winter coming off a 2.97 ERA and 194:34 K:BB in 193.2 innings (31 starts) last year with the NC Dinos of the Korea Baseball Organization.

Rodriguez will start the first game of a doubleheader against the Orioles on Saturday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez was scheduled to start against Baltimore on Friday, but the game was postponed due to rain. It'll be a pair of lefties going for the Tigers on Saturday, with Rodriguez getting the ball for the matinee and Matthew Boyd starting the nightcap.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday that the team is hoping Whitlock (elbow) will miss just two starts, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Whitlock landed on the injured list Friday with right elbow ulnar neuritis, although he's set to undergo more testing to rule out any additional issues. A return in a couple weeks would be a best-case scenario for the right-hander. Brayan Bello is taking Whitlock's spot in Boston's rotation.

Friday's game between the Orioles and Tigers has been postponed due to inclement weather. Rodriguez had been scheduled to start.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday. Scheduled starters Grayson Rodriguez and Eduardo Rodriguez will be pushed back a day.

Bello was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Just four days after being optioned to Triple-A, Bello is back with the major-league squad due to Garrett Whitlock (elbow) landing on the 15-day injured list Friday. Bello has been hit around quite a bit in his two major-league starts, allowing 13 hits and eight earned runs through 7.1 innings.

Whitlock (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with right elbow ulnar neuritis, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander last pitched Saturday, surrendering five run over four innings against the Brewers. The move to the IL is retroactive to April 25 (Tuesday), so if he can make it back in the minimum amount of days, he'll rejoin the Red Sox rotation May 10. That being said, considering it's an elbow injury on his throwing arm, it's hard to predict any sort of timetable for Whitlock's return. In the meantime, Brayan Bello was recalled from Triple-A Worcester and will replace Whitlock in the rotation Saturday versus Cleveland.

Mahle has been diagnosed with an impingement to the back of his right elbow, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Mahle exited Thursday's start against the Royals with the injury but didn't have any imaging done, and the issue will be treated with anti-inflammatories. It's possible he could even make his next start if the symptoms clear up in a few days. Realistically though, Mahle will probably be pushed back, with a trip to the injured list also possible.

Maeda will be shut down for 3-7 days after being diagnosed with a right triceps strain, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Maeda suffered the injury during Wednesday's start against the Yankees and will be placed on the injured list. The positive news is the arm issue is unrelated to his previous Tommy John surgery and will be treated as a muscle strain. Still, it has the potential to keep him sidelined several weeks. Bailey Ober is taking Maeda's spot in the Twins' rotation.
