Bassitt did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on two hits and four walks over five innings in a 10-8 loss against the Mariners. He struck out seven.

After back-to-back strikeouts to start the game, Bassitt walked two and hit a batter before surrendering a grand slam to Taylor Trammell. The right-hander was able to settle down after getting through the first and was in line for the win after four straight scoreless frames. Sunday's performance marked just the second time Bassitt failed to get through six innings and snapped a run of four straight outings with two or fewer earned runs. Bassitt's next start is tentatively scheduled versus the Pirates, who are tied for fourth in MLB in runs per game (5.5).

Gonzales did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing eight runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk over three innings during a 10-8 win over the Blue Jays in extras. He struck out two.

Gonzales was spotted a four-run lead in the top of the first, but he surrendered multiple runs in each of his three frames and was in line for the loss before Seattle made a late-inning comeback. The left-hander had been solid over his previous three starts (four total earned runs over 16.2 innings) after a shaky opening to the campaign, but Sunday's performance was his worst outing thus far and raised his ERA from 3.32 to 4.74. Things don't get easier for Gonzales, whose next start is scheduled during a three-game set with the Astros.

Gray improved to 4-0 after allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven in an 8-4 win over the Royals on Sunday.

Gray capped off April with another masterful performance. He tossed five shutout innings before the Royals finally got a run across in the sixth. The 33-year-old has now thrown at least five innings and allowed one run or fewer in each of his six starts this season, and his 0.77 ERA currently leads Major League Baseball among all pitchers with at least 25 innings thrown. Gray has been a fantasy star over the first month of the year and will look to keep things rolling in a divisional matchup against the Guardians next weekend.

Singer (2-3) was handed the loss Sunday against the Twins after giving up eight runs on five hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out five in the effort.

Singer allowed a run in the second and then completely unraveled in the third. He struck out two of the first three hitters he faced in the inning but could not get the final out. He walked two batters before Byron Buxton opened things up with a three-run blast to left. The next four batters would then reach on three base hits and a hit-by-pitch, tallying two more runs for the Twins. Singer was replaced by Josh Staumont with runners on first and third and was charged with two more runs before Staumont could close the door on the inning. After Sunday's outing, Singer now leads the majors in giving up 56 hard-hit balls over just 29.2 innings. It's been a disappointing first month of the season for him, and he now sits at an 8.49 ERA, which is the worst among all qualified starting pitchers in baseball. The 26-year-old should have an opportunity to get back on track with a projected matchup against Oakland next weekend.

Allen (1-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings against the Red Sox. He struck out eight.

Allen was good again in his second MLB start. He allowed just two runs on Alex Verdugo's two-run single in the fifth inning. However, he took his first loss as the Guardians could only provide one supporting run. Allen has now struck out eight batters in each of his first two outings while issuing just three walks. The 24-year-old left-hander has a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through his first 11 innings. Allen will likely make at least one more start for Cleveland with Triston McKenzie (shoulder) and Aaron Civale (oblique) still sidelined.

Sale (2-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits over 6.1 innings against the Guardians. He struck out five.

It was an encouraging performance from Sale after he allowed seven runs in three innings in his last outing against Baltimore. The veteran left-hander kept the Guardians off the board until Amed Rosario's RBI single in the sixth inning. Sale's ERA still sits at an unsightly 6.75 with a 1.47 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB. He'll look to build on Sunday's positive outing in his next start, tentatively lined up for next week in Philadelphia.

Manager Rocco Baldelli said Sunday that Mahle will be shut down at least four weeks after being diagnosed with a posterior impingement and flexor pronator strain, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Mahle was removed from Thursday's start against the Royals due to an elbow issue, and he won't throw in the coming weeks after receiving his diagnosis. The right-hander will be re-evaluated after four weeks, and he'll presumably be sidelined until at least mid-June since he'll need to build back up following his shutdown. A better idea of Mahle's status should come into focus once he's re-evaluated, but he's facing an extended absence.

Lynch (shoulder) is scheduled to make his first rehab start Tuesday with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Kansas City reports.

Since Lynch has been on the 15-day injured list all season with a strained rotator cuff, he could need around 3-to-4 rehab starts to get stretched back out for a spot in the big-league rotation. If Lynch avoids any setbacks with his shoulder Tuesday, he'll likely move up to Triple-A Omaha next weekend for his second rehab outing.

Skubal (elbow) tossed a 15-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Skubal threw exclusively fastballs during the session, which marked his first time taking part in mound work in nearly nine months after he underwent flexor tendon surgery last August. After opening the season on the 60-day injured list, Skubal won't be eligible to make his 2023 debut until May 29, but the Tigers haven't provided a firm target date for him to be activated. A clearer timeline for his debut could come into focus once he completes several more side sessions and faces live hitters in batting practice before advancing to what will likely be a multi-start minor-league rehab assignment.

The Mariners placed McGee on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right forearm strain.

McGee's move to the IL comes after he was brilliant in a spot start for Seattle in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Toronto, as he twirled 6.2 innings of shutout baseball. The rookie right-hander's arm was apparently hurting after the effort, however, and he'll now be sidelined for at least two weeks while while recovering from the strain. Outfielder Taylor Trammell (wrist) was activated off the injured list in a corresponding transaction.
