Skubal (elbow) did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing no hits and no walks over four scoreless innings against the Athletics. He struck out six.

The left-hander missed the first three months of the campaign while rehabbing from August flexor tendon surgery, and the only baserunner he allowed in his season debut came via a hit-by-pitch. Skubal threw 41 of his 57 pitches for strikes and should continue to build up his workload in subsequent outings. A potential matchup with the Blue Jays this weekend is likely to present a tougher test for the 26-year-old.

Sears did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing five hits and no walks over 7.1 scoreless innings against Detroit. He struck out four.

The left-hander broke a string of three consecutive losses with his second scoreless outing of the campaign, but he missed out on the win since the game remained a 0-0 tie until the 10th inning. Sears surrendered five earned runs his last time out against the Yankees, but he's now covered at least seven frames in three of his past four starts. The 27-year-old holds a 4.09 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 89:20 K:BB through 94.2 innings this season, and he tentatively lines up for one more start Sunday in Boston before the All-Star break.

Bielak (4-4) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two hits and four walks over seven scoreless innings in a 4-1 victory over the Rockies. He struck out four.

In his first MLB appearance since being optioned to Triple-A on June 17, Bielak recorded his first scoreless outing of the campaign. Tuesday's performance was also Bielak's longest start of 2023 and marked just the third time he's lasted more than six innings. However, Bielak also set a season high in walks. After the strong showing, Bielak's ERA is down to 3.81 and he also carries a 41:22 K:BB and 1.6 HR/9 through 54.1 innings.

The Blue Jays will call up Manoah from Double-A New Hampshire to start Friday against the Tigers, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

After a horrendous showing in rookie ball, Manoah bounced back nicely in Double-A, surrendering just one run on three hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters over five innings Sunday. Manoah was optioned to the Florida Complex League in early June to work on his mechanics, and he'll get a chance to ease back into the majors against a Tigers offense that ranks 29th in OPS (.671).

Kopech (shoulder) is expected to return to the White Sox's rotation after the All-Star break, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Kopech was slated to miss his start Sunday to receive an extended rest, but the White Sox still felt the need to place him on the injured list. It doesn't seem Kopech is in line for an extended absence, and he'll return to the rotation with a fresh arm to begin the second half of the season.

Gibson (8-6) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks over six innings against the Yankees. He struck out four.

Gibson showed signs of improvement despite the loss Tuesday after he allowed 11 runs over 7.2 innings in his previous two starts. The 35-year-old right-hander allowed a two-run homer to Gleyber Torres in the first inning before holding the Yankees to just two more runs over his next five frames. Gibson still sports a disappointing 4.73 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 78:35 K:BB across 18 starts (102.2 innings) this season. He'll be looking for his first win since June 6 in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend in Minnesota.

Schmidt (4-6) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits over five innings against Baltimore. He struck out seven.

Schmidt got through the first four innings unscathed Tuesday before the Orioles put up three runs in the fifth on home runs from Aaron Hicks and Adam Frazier. However, the Yankees would retake the lead in the bottom half of the frame, setting up Schmidt for the win. The 27-year-old Schmidt has pitched to a 2.85 ERA over his last nine starts (47.1 innings). Overall, he sports a 4.43 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP and 86:26 K:BB through 18 starts (87.1 innings) this season.

Waldichuk is expected to pitch the bulk of the innings for the Athletics on Wednesday in Detroit, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The Athletics haven't decided whether Waldichuk will be deployed out of the bullpen behind an opener or as a traditional starter, but either way, he's in line to pcover the most innings of any Oakland pitcher Wednesday. The left-hander will be making just his third start since May 28, though he had served as an opening pitcher on both of those occasions. Waldichuk lost his spot in the rotation after turning in a 6.85 ERA and 1.85 WHIP in his first nine starts of 2023, and his results haven't been much better since he moved to the bullpen (6.64 ERA, 2.07 WHIP in 20.2 innings).

Vasquez will be called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start for the Yankees on Wednesday against the Orioles, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Vasquez has pitched well in two outings for the Bronx Bombers this season, holding a 1.74 ERA and 9:4 K:BB over 10.1 innings. The right-hander has a less impressive 5.11 ERA in 13 starts with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, though he's struck out well over a batter per frame in the minors.

Greinke was lifted from Tuesday's start versus the Twins in the sixth inning due to right shoulder discomfort, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Greinke called for the trainer with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning and eventually walked off the field and into the clubhouse. Royals manager Matt Quatraro referred to the soreness as "very mild," so it doesn't sound like the pitcher will be out too long. Greinke was charged with six runs and struck out three over 5.1 frames before exiting.
