German (5-7) took the loss Tuesday as the Yankees were downed 9-3 by the Mets, coughing up six runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over six innings. He struck out nine.

The right-hander had little trouble with most of the Mets' lineup, but Pete Alonso was his nemesis, launching homers off German in the third and sixth innings. On the bright side, he did strike out nine batters for the third straight outing, and German has a 1.25 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB through 22.1 innings over four July starts, albeit with a 5.64 ERA. He'll try to keep the ball in the yard in his next trip to the mound, which is likely to come at home early next week against the Rays.

Rodriguez did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over 4.2 innings against the Angels. He struck out three.

Rodriguez was able to keep the Angels off the board for three innings after Mike Moustakas' two-run double in the first. However, Los Angeles would add another two runs in the fifth, forcing Rodriguez out of the game after 90 pitches. The 30-year-old southpaw had won his previous two starts, allowing just four runs over 12 innings. Rodriguez's ERA now sits at 2.95 with a 1.03 WHIP and 91:21 K:BB across 15 starts (88.1 innings) this season.

The Red Sox reinstated Bello (personal) from the paternity list Tuesday, and he's scheduled to make his next turn through the rotation Wednesday against Atlanta at Fenway Park, MLB.com reports.

Bello flew home to the Dominican Republic over the weekend to witness the birth of his child. The right-hander rejoined the Red Sox after spending the maximum three days away from the team and will be able to stay on turn in the rotation. He's been Boston's most consistent starter this season and sports a 3.60 ERA over 16 outings.

Glasnow (4-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing a run on two hits and two walks over seven innings against Miami. He struck out eight.

Glasnow's now held opponents to just one run in three of his last four outings while racking up 55 strikeouts over his last six starts (36.1 innings). The 29-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.36 with a 1.12 WHIP and 88:20 K:BB across 11 starts (61.2 innings). Glasnow will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently lined up for this weekend against the Astros.

Bassitt allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Bassitt hadn't walked multiple batters in any of his first four outings in July, though his six strikeouts were his most in a start this month. The right-hander left the game in line for the win, but the Blue Jays' bullpen couldn't maintain the lead. Bassitt hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his last six appearances, and he's at a 3.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 118:41 K:BB through 126.2 innings this season. He's projected for a tough home start versus the Orioles next week.

Gibson did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out five.

Gibson's now logged quality starts in three of his last four outings after struggling to a 6.84 ERA in June. The veteran right-hander held the Phillies to one run through his first five frames Tuesday before surrendering a game-tying home run to Bryce Harper in the sixth. Overall, Gibson is 9-6 this season with a 4.68 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 103:40 K:BB across 22 starts (127 innings). He's currently in line to face the Blue Jays on the road in his next outing.

Kopech (4-9) took the loss Tuesday, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk over five innings against the Cubs. He struck out five.

Kopech tied his season high in runs given up Tuesday, serving up a pair of homers to Dansby Swanson and a solo shot to Christopher Morel in the first four innings of action. The outing marked his fifth straight start allowing a long ball, while his nine hits allowed also set a season high. However, if fantasy managers are looking for something positive to take away from Kopech's start, it'd be that he handed out only one walk after allowing a total of 24 walks over his last 18.2 innings. Through 97.1 innings this season, Kopech owns a 4.44 ERA, a 2.0 HR/9 and a 107:58 K:BB.

Canning did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on seven hits over five innings against the Tigers. He struck out eight.

Canning's now tallied 20 strikeouts over his last two outings (10.2 innings). He was able to limit the damage Tuesday, holding the Tigers to just two runs despite allowing eight hits. Canning now sports a 4.46 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and 91:25 K:BB across 16 starts (84.2 innings) this season. The 27-year-old right-hander is currently lined up to face Atlanta on the road in his next outing.

Waldichuk allowed an unearned run on one hit and two walks while striking out six over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Tuesday.

Facing the Giants' offense in its current state was likely a blessing for Waldichuk, who had given up 10 runs over 13.2 innings across his first four appearances this month. He still walked multiple batters for the fourth time in his last five outings, but he was able to successfully limit the damage. Waldichuk is now at a 6.38 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 84:51 K:BB through 84.2 innings over 24 appearances (13 starts) this season. The southpaw is tentatively projected for a tough road matchup versus the Dodgers next week, though it's unclear if he'll start or pitch behind an opener.

Lopez did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings in a 9-7 loss to Seattle. He struck out eight.

Lopez turned in yet another strong start, allowing two or fewer runs for the fourth time in his last five appearances. However, Lopez gave up a solo home run to Cade Marlowe in the fifth inning, marking his fourth long ball allowed in his last three starts. The right-hander has been an excellent source of strikeouts in 2023, having tallied 160 strikeouts through 128.2 innings while punching out seven or more batters in seven of his last eight appearances. He's tentatively scheduled to take on the Cardinals at Busch Stadium for his next start.
