Castillo (3-7) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to take the loss versus the Blue Jays on Friday.

Castillo was mostly fine, but he allowed both runs and four of the five hits on his line during the third inning. The Mariners mustered just six baserunners in the game, giving Castillo virtually no support. He has posted back-to-back quality starts but still has just one win in his last five outings. Castillo is at a 4.79 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 77:27 K:BB through 82.2 innings over 17 games (14 starts) this season. The veteran right-hander is tentatively projected for a road start in Miami next week.

Williams did not factor into Friday's decision against the White Sox, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six across 4.2 innings.

Williams almost made it out of the fifth inning unscathed after allowing the first two batters of the frame on base, but he proceeded to give up a two-out, three-run home run to Miguel Vargas. A two-hour rain delay ensued, which prompted the Guardians to pull Williams when play resumed, with the right-hander ending his night with 52 strikes on 79 pitches (65.8 percent) with nine whiffs and five groundouts. He'll take a 3.89 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 106.1 innings into his next start, which is tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Twins in what figures to be Williams' last start before the All-Star break.

Kay did not factor into the decision of Friday's extra-inning loss to the Guardians, allowing one run on one hit and two walks while striking out two across four innings.

Kay kept the Guardians in check for most of Friday's start outside of an RBI single to Travis Bazzana in the third inning. Kay tossed only 48 pitches (27 strikes), but his outing was cut short by a two-hour rain delay, resulting in Jordan Hicks and the White Sox's bullpen taking over in the fifth inning. Kay will take a 4.39 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 84 innings into his next start, which is slated for next week at home against the Red Sox.

Arrighetti did not factor into the decision in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Rays, allowing one run on two hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six innings.

Arrighetti opened with five scoreless frames before allowing a solo homer in the sixth, generating 10 whiffs on just 73 pitches before departing in a 1-1 tie. It was a much-needed effort for the 26-year-old, who posted a 9.00 ERA in June and entered Friday having surrendered 14 earned runs over his previous two starts. He'll carry a 3.81 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 79:38 K:BB across 78 innings overall into a challenging road matchup with the Nationals next week.

Martinez did not factor into the decision in Friday's 3-1 win over the Astros, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Martinez was cruising until he yielded a solo homer to Yordan Alvarez in the sixth inning, subsequently departing in a 1-1 tie after allowing a single to the next batter he faced. While he hasn't been able to notch a quality start in either outing, the 35-year-old has yielded just one earned run while pitching into the sixth in both of his past two starts. He'll take a 2.61 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB across 100 innings this season into a home matchup with the Yankees next week.

Lagrange was diagnosed with a capsular sprain of the right shoulder Friday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Lagrange had been making a push to join the major-league bullpen at some point this season, but he landed on the injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday and is now facing an extended absence following his diagnosis. The Yankees will keep him shut down from throwing for about six weeks, at which point he'll be re-evaluated.

Rogers (6-7) earned the win against the Reds on Friday, allowing two hits and five walks while striking out four across five scoreless innings.

It wasn't exactly smooth sailing for Rogers, who allowed at least two baserunners in three of his five innings while issuing a season-high five walks. However, the southpaw did just enough to keep the Reds off the board, and the Orioles' bullpen carried that momentum over the final four innings for the four-hit shutout. It was the second scoreless outing of the season for Rogers, two of which have come over his last three outings, and he has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his last six starts. He'll take a 4.70 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 65:29 K:BB across 84.1 total innings into his next start, which is slated for next week at home against the Cubs.

Rodon said his UCL is intact, but he's dealing with "heavy inflammation" in his left elbow, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Rodon hopes he's not facing a lengthy recovery and mentioned a possible no-throw period of only one week, though nothing is set in stone, according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. Rodon was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier Friday, and it sounds like he could miss more than the minimum two weeks.

The Astros activated Javier (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Javier will work out of Houston's bullpen after missing the past three months with a shoulder strain. The right-hander operated as a starter during his rehab assignment, but the Astros are going to use the veteran out of the bullpen, at least initially. Manager Joe Espada said it's not necessarily a permanent move.

The Yankees placed Rodon on the 15-day injured list Friday with left elbow inflammation.

Rodon had been lined up to start Saturday against the Twins, but he'll now spend the next two weeks letting his arm rest after he tossed five innings of one-hit ball last Sunday against the Red Sox. His control was a bit shaky, however, as he walked four batters. After missing the first 40 games of the season recovering from offseason elbow surgery, Rodon has posted a 3.30 ERA, 12.5 WHIP and 52:26 K:BB across his first 46.1 innings of 2026.
