  • Rangers' Caleb Boushley: Added to roster

The Rangers selected Boushley's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Boushley appeared in two regular-season games out of the bullpen for the Twins last season, logging a 4.50 ERA and 1:2 K:BB across four innings of work. He's worked almost exclusively as a starter in the minors and figures to be available in long relief for Texas.

  • Red Sox's Josh Winckowski: Brought up from minors

The Red Sox recalled Winckowski from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Winckowski will provide the bullpen with some length. The 26-year-old posted a 4.14 ERA and 60:26 K:BB over 76 innings covering six starts and 34 relief appearances with Boston last season.

  • Camilo Doval RP | NYY

Giants' Camilo Doval: Struggles with control Monday

Doval (1-1) was charged with the loss Monday, allowing two earned runs on no hits and a walk across one-third of an inning during San Francisco's 2-0 loss to the Reds. He also hit one batter.

Doval walked the first batter he faced before hitting the second. Both runners came around to score after the right-handed reliever was pulled. The 27-year-old faced three hitters Monday, throwing only three strikes across 11 pitches. Doval has given up all three of his earned runs in the Giants' last two games, logging a 5.06 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 2:3 K:BB over 5.1 frames in six appearances.

  • Cody Bolton RP | HOU

Guardians' Cody Bolton: Traded to Cleveland

The Guardians acquired Bolton from the Mariners on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Bolton had been designated for assignment and is now on the move to a new 40-man roster. The 26-year-old has been assigned to Triple-A Columbus, where he will represent relief depth for Cleveland.

  • Hunter Cranton RP | ARI

Mariners' Hunter Cranton: Recovering from concussion

Double-A Arkansas placed Cranton on the 7-day injured list with a concussion, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

He was struck by a comebacker in a Cactus League game March 7 and is building back up while working through concussion symptoms. Cranton, a 24-year-old reliever who Seattle saved money on in the third round last year, logged a 3.24 ERA with three saves and 14 strikeouts in 8.1 innings at Single-A after signing.

  • Alex Lange RP | KC

Tigers' Alex Lange: In midst of shutdown period

The Tigers announced Tuesday that Lange (lat) has been shut down from throwing temporarily and will complete a period of rest after he recently experienced increased upper-arm inflammation, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Lange is in the midst of a rehab program for the right lat surgery he underwent last June, so it's less than ideal that he's contending with another arm-related issue during the ramp-up process. On the positive side, Lange wasn't recommended any further treatment for the arm inflammation after seeking multiple medical opinions, so the Tigers are hopeful that rest will be enough to resolve the issue. A timeline for Lange's return likely won't be established until he reaches the point in his rehab that he's facing live hitters, but he won't be available to make his 2025 Tigers debut until at least late May after being placed on the 60-day injured list during spring training.

  • Tyler Gilbert RP | CHW

White Sox's Tyler Gilbert: Rejoins big-league bullpen

The White Sox reinstated Gilbert (knee) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Chicago sent left-hander Brandon Eisert to Triple-A Charlotte to make room on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen for Gilbert. The left-hander opened the season on the shelf due to left knee inflammation, but he checked out healthy after making two rehab appearances for Charlotte last week. He'll operate as a multi-inning option in relief.

  • Luis Contreras RP | HOU

Astros' Luis Contreras: Will rejoin big club

The Astros are expected to recall Contreras from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Contreras was sent to the minors Monday, but he's set to rejoin the big club a day later with Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) headed to the injured list. The Astros will make the transaction official shortly before Tuesday's game against the Mariners. The right-handed Contreras has posted an 8.44 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in 5.1 innings this season and will operate in low-leverage spots.

  • Adam Ottavino RP | NYY

Yankees' Adam Ottavino: Removed from 40-man roster again

The Yankees designated Ottavino for assignment Tuesday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

For the second time in five days, Ottavino has been removed from the Yankees' 40-man roster. He quickly re-signed the first time around, but it's not clear whether the Yankees plan to bring him back again.

  • Ian Hamilton RP | ATL

Yankees' Ian Hamilton: Activated from injured list

The Yankees activated Hamilton (illness) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

An infection caused a late start to the season for Hamilton, but he's ready to rejoin the Yankees bullpen after making three rehab appearances. Hamilton should eventually work his way back into being a high-leverage reliever, but he might be eased into such situations.
