  • Ryan Burr RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Ryan Burr: Continuing mound work

Burr (shoulder) is scheduled for a bullpen session Saturday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Burr opened the season on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. He was able to resume throwing off a mound April 12, and as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks, he'll likely be cleared to start facing live hitters before long. Burr appeared in 34 games (four starts) for the Blue Jays in 2024 and posted a 4.13 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB across 32.2 innings.

  • Erik Swanson RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Erik Swanson: Could take next step in program

Swanson (forearm) pitched in an extended spring game Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Swanson tossed 16 pitches and recorded four outs in Friday's session, and the next steps in his throwing program will be determined Saturday. The 31-year-old right-hander continues to recover from carpal tunnel syndrome in his right forearm, which caused him to land on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of the season.

  • Mariners' Gregory Santos: Placed on injured list

The Mariners placed Santos on the 15-day injured list Friday with right knee inflammation.

Santos was sent to Triple-A Tacoma on April 16 but is listed on the major-league injured list. He won't be eligible to return until May 10, and right now it's unclear if his knee will keep him out for more than the 15-day minimum.

  • Zach Brzykcy RP | MIA

Nationals' Zach Brzykcy: Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A

The Nationals reinstated Brzykcy (quadriceps) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.

The right-hander was sidelined for the first month of the campaign due to a quadriceps strain, but he won't join the big club upon the completion of his four-game rehab assignment. Brzykcy received his first taste of the majors last season with six relief appearances and gave up nine earned runs over 5.2 innings.

  • Diamondbacks' J.P. Feyereisen: Returns to Triple-A

The Diamondbacks optioned Feyereisen to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

The right-hander was called up by Arizona last weekend and gave up two earned runs over two frames in his two appearances. Feyereisen will now return to Reno, but he'll likely receive another look with the Diamondbacks at some point this summer.

  • Yoendrys Gomez RP | MIN

Dodgers' Yoendrys Gomez: Claimed off waivers

The Dodgers claimed Gomez off waivers from the Yankees on Friday.

New York designated the right-hander for assignment earlier in the week, but he'll remain on a 40-man roster after being claimed by Los Angeles. Gomez has a 2.70 ERA across 10 innings this season but hasn't exactly been reliable with a 5:9 K:BB.

  • Jake Cousins RP | LAD

Yankees' Jake Cousins: Targeting early-to-mid June

Cousins (elbow) is targeting a return in early-to-mid June, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Cousins will throw another bullpen session Friday and is about two weeks away from facing hitters. He'll need a rehab assignment at some point after that. The reliever is recovering from a right elbow flexor strain.

  • Evan Sisk RP | PIT

Royals' Evan Sisk: Sent to Triple-A

The Royals optioned Sisk to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

The left-hander was called up from Omaha on April 13 and made his first two MLB appearances while up with the Royals, striking out five with two hits and two walks across 2.1 scoreless innings. Sisk had a 1.56 ERA in 59 outings for Omaha last season and is likely to receive another look with the Royals at some point this year.

  • Ryan Fernandez RP | STL

Cardinals' Ryan Fernandez: Optioned to Triple-A

The Cardinals optioned Fernandez to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Fernandez pitched well in his rookie season in 2024 and came into 2025 as a setup man for the Cardinals, but he's really struggled, allowing 13 runs (11 earned) with a 7:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings. Riley O'Brien is taking his spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

  • Royals' Jonathan Bowlan: Returns to Triple-A

The Royals optioned Bowlan to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Bowlan was up as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Rockies but didn't make an appearance. He's permitted four runs with a 12:5 K:BB over 12 innings at Omaha this season.
