Carlos Estevez RP | KC
Royals' Carlos Estevez: Locks down 13th save
Estevez picked up the save in Sunday's 2-1 victory over St. Louis, allowing a hit in a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
The Kansas City closer worked around a Brendan Donovan double and efficiently secured the win on 12 pitches, eight of which were strikes. Estevez has been a reliable reliever over his last 10 appearances, conceding just one run while pitching to an 8:1 K:BB across 9.2 innings. The 32-year-old has gone a perfect 8-for-8 on save opportunities during that span as he maintains his firm grip on the closer job over Lucas Erceg.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Astros' Josh Hader: Secures 11th save
Hader earned the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Rangers, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.
Hader faced the bottom of the Rangers' lineup and retired them in order to remain a perfect 11-for-11 in save chances this season. The southpaw has allowed runs in just two of his past 10 appearances, both coming in non-save situations. On the year, he owns a 1.80 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 29:5 K:BB across 20 innings.

Chris Martin RP | TEX
Rangers' Chris Martin: Managing shoulder issue
Martin was removed from Sunday's game against the Astros due to right shoulder discomfort, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
The right-hander departed after throwing just one pitch Sunday, which is the same thing that happened when elbow tightness forced him from Tuesday's game versus Colorado. It could be encouraging that Martin didn't aggravate the same injury, but the fact a 38-year-old is dealing with different arm issues in such a short window is worrying in its own right.

Lou Trivino RP | BAL
Dodgers' Lou Trivino: Added to big-league roster
The Dodgers selected Trivino's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
The right-hander will join the MLB roster just a week after inking a minor-league deal with the Dodgers since Kirby Yates (hamstring) is headed to the injured list. Trivino posted a 5.84 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB over 12.1 innings with San Francisco before being cut loose in early May and latching on with Los Angeles.

Kirby Yates RP | LAA
Dodgers' Kirby Yates: Moves to injured list
Yates (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday.
Manager Dave Roberts indicated after Saturday's loss to the Angels that he expected Yates to require a stint on the injured list, so it's not a surprise that he's been moved to the shelf. The right-hander is dealing with a Grade 1 strain of his right hamstring and will be eligible to be reinstated June 2, though there's no guarantee he'll be ready to be activated at that time.

Scott Effross RP | DET
Yankees' Scott Effross: Activated, sent to Triple-A
The Yankees reinstated Effross (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The right-hander opened the campaign on the injured list due to a hamstring strain he suffered at the start of spring training, and he won't immediately join the big-league club upon being activated. Effross hasn't seen significant action in the majors since 2022, when he had a 2.54 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 62:15 K:BB in 60 regular-season appearances between the Cubs and Yankees.

Jason Alexander RP | HOU
Astros' Jason Alexander: Claimed by Houston
The Astros claimed Alexander off waivers Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Sugar Land, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Friday but will retain a spot on the 40-man roster with a new organization. Alexander gave up 12 earned runs over six frames in the majors but has a 1.69 ERA in five starts at the Triple-A level this season.
-
Hunter Strickland RP | LAA
Angels' Hunter Strickland: Contract selected by Halos
The Angels selected Strickland's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
The veteran right-hander will join the Angels just two weeks after signing with the organization on a minor-league deal. Strickland opened the year in the minors with the Rangers but was granted his release after giving up 14 earned runs in 12 appearances. He was an effective bullpen option for Anaheim last year with a 3.31 ERA and 12 holds over 73.1 innings.

Kevin Herget RP | NYM
Braves' Kevin Herget: Claimed off waivers
Atlanta claimed Herget off waivers from the Mets on Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.
The Mets designated Herget for assignment Thursday, and the veteran reliever will get a fresh start with Atlanta. Herget yielded one run in two innings during his lone MLB appearance in 2025, and he logged a 2.87 ERA in 15.2 innings for Triple-A Syracuse.

Justin Martinez RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Justin Martinez: Continuing rehab at Triple-A
Martinez (shoulder) is scheduled to throw an inning for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday as part of his rehab assignment, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
Martinez is working his way back from right shoulder inflammation and is nearing a return. A report Sunday indicated he'd rejoin the team either for the start of a series against the Dodgers on Monday or for a weekend set against St. Louis beginning Friday. With Martinez throwing an inning for Reno on Tuesday, it's expected he'll rejoin the big-league club ahead of its series against the Cardinals.
