Van Belle will undergo an MRI on his injured right elbow Saturday night, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

According to Topkin, Van Belle is still experiencing pain and discomfort in his right elbow after throwing 37 pitches in Friday's loss to the Guardians. Van Belle said while he didn't feel a pop in his elbow Friday, he didn't feel comfortable throwing his fastball or sweeper. He's since been placed on the 15-day injured list, and the Rays are calling the injury right elbow inflammation for now.

The Angels placed Zeferjahn on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right knee tendinitis.

Zeferjahn recorded two outs in Friday's loss to the Athletics but allowed one run on one hit and two walks with one strikeout. With Zeferjahn off to the injured list, the Angels recalled Chase Silseth from Triple-A Salt Late. Zeferjahn owns a 4.77 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 72:33 K:BB across 54.2 innings this season.

Silseth takes the 26-man roster spot of Ryan Zeferjahn, who was placed on the 15-day IL due to right knee tendinitis. Silseth has pitched in three games out of the Angels' bullpen this season, working 2.1 scoreless innings with a 3:4 K:BB.

The Astros recalled VanWey from Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

VanWey made his MLB debut earlier this season and has appeared in eight games out of the Houston bullpen, registering a 5.59 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 6:3 K:BB across 9.2 innings.

Santos (knee) is slated to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Santos hasn't pitched with Seattle since April 15 but is aiming for a return to the Mariners at some point this month. The right-hander struggled to a 5.14 ERA and 2.29 WHIP across eight early-season appearances before getting hurt.

The Rays recalled Rock from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Rock has appeared in two games out of Tampa Bay's bullpen this season, posting a 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 9:0 K:BB across five innings of work. The 25-year-old right-hander takes Brian Van Belle's (elbow) spot in the bullpen.

The 29-year-old right-hander has appeared in four games out of the bullpen for the Rays this season, logging a 5.40 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 6:0 K:BB across 8.1 innings.

The Padres optioned Reynolds to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

Reynolds will lose his place in the big-league bullpen to make room for Randy Vasquez, who was recalled from Triple-A to start Saturday's game against Colorado. Reynolds, 27, owns a 5.33 ERA and 1.37 WHIP through 27 innings in the majors this season but could still make another appearance for San Diego if/when the team needs a fresh bullpen arm.

The Marlins placed Tarnok on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Wednesday, with a sprained left ankle.

Tarnok has given up two earned runs in 5.1 innings since coming up from Triple-A Jacksonville, but he's now due to remain sidelined until at least Sept. 18. Christian Roa was selected from Triple-A to fill the open spot in Miami's bullpen.

Mlodzinski (3-8) was the pitcher of record in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Brewers after giving up two earned runs on four hits and one walk over one inning of relief.

Mlodzinski had started in both of his previous two appearances, but he covered just three and two innings in those contests while being piggybacked by Bubba Chandler. The Pirates deployed Mlodzinski in a more traditional relief role Friday, but the right-hander failed to preserve a 2-1 lead and needed 33 pitches just to record three outs. Mlodzinski had been lined up to open Sunday's series finale, but it's unclear if his usage out of the bullpen Friday will result in the Pirates altering their plans.
