Munoz earned the save Thursday against the Royals, striking out three and allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

Tasked with protecting a two-run lead, Munoz worked around a Vinnie Pasquantino double and a hit batter to lock down his 36th save of the season. It was just the second time this year that the right-hander has struck out three batters in an appearance. After a rocky stretch in which Munoz allowed runs in three of five outings, he's now strung together six consecutive scoreless appearances. The 26-year-old has been one of the league's top closers this season, ranking third in MLB in saves while carrying a 1.54 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 78:25 K:BB across 58.1 innings.

Harris recorded the save Thursday against the Red Sox, allowing one run on one hit and no walks in two innings. He struck out three.

The left-hander posted his fourth save of the season, and each have come following the trade of Mason Miller. Harris should remain one of the Athletics' preferred late-inning options alongside Sean Newcomb to finish up the year, but neither appears locked in as the club's closer. Through 60 innings, Harris has a 3.30 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 61:33 K:BB.

Koenig allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Angels.

Abner Uribe was deployed against the heart of the Angels' order in the eighth inning, leaving Koenig to pick up the save in the ninth. This was Koenig's seventh straight scoreless outing, and he's posted a 14:1 K:BB while earning two saves and a hold in that span. He's pitched well as a high-leverage option this year, posting a 3.10 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 64:20 K:BB with two saves and 26 holds over 61 innings.

Gaddis earned the save in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Tigers, allowing one hit with no strikeouts or walks in a scoreless ninth inning.

After closer Cade Smith had pitched back-to-back days, Gaddis got the call in the ninth inning Thursday. The right-hander worked around a leadoff single to close out a two-run victory, picking up his third save this season. Gaddis has turned in seven straight scoreless innings, allowing just four hits in that span. His ERA sits at 3.11 through 63.2 innings this season with a 1.18 WHIP and 65:21 K:BB.

The Angels recalled Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

Aldegheri will come up from the minors to presumably fill the absence in Los Angeles' rotation left by Jose Soriano (forearm), who was placed on the injured list Thursday. Aldegheri has given up five earned runs in just 4.1 innings in the big leagues this year, though he owns a 3.82 ERA and 1.35 WHIP through 127.1 minor-league frames.

Borucki cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Buffalo.

Borucki was DFA'd after pitching 4.1 shutout innings for the Jays in September, but he'll officially stick with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. Assuming he remains in the minors for the rest of the season, the 31-year-old southpaw will finish 2025 with a 4.63 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 35 innings in the big leagues.

Atlanta transferred Bummer (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Left shoulder inflammation sent Bummer to the injured list in late August, and although he began a throwing program Saturday, his move to the 60-day IL will officially rule him out for the rest of the season. He'll give up his place on the 40-man roster to Brett Wisely, who was claimed off waivers from San Francisco in a corresponding move.

Hicks (shoulder) has been cleared to play catch, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Hicks has a chance to make it back from his right shoulder tendinitis before the end of the regular season, but it's far from guaranteed. The hard-throwing righty holds an 8.20 ERA and 15:12 K:BB over 18.2 innings during his time with the Red Sox, putting his role in question even if he does return.

The Tigers released Heuer on Thursday.

The move clears space on the 40-man roster for the return of Paul Sewald (shoulder). Heuer has made three relief appearances at the big-league level this season between the Rangers and Tigers, yielding three runs with a 5:2 K:BB over 4.2 innings.

The Tigers designated Urquidy for assignment Thursday.

While the transaction for the time being is officially labeled as Urquidy being designated for assignment, the righty has agreed to be optioned to Triple-A Toledo and that is expected to happen Friday. Urquidy has allowed two runs over 2.1 innings since the Tigers reinstated him from the injured list earlier this week, and the club has decided it doesn't have a spot for him on the active roster right now.
