Phillies' Brian Keller: Sent to Lehigh Valley
The Phillies optioned Keller to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.
After making just one appearance with the Phillies on June 25, Keller will re-join the Triple-A club. The 32-year-old allowed just one run on two hits while striking out three in three innings during his lone appearance. Philadelphia elevated Andrew Painter from Lehigh Valley to replace Keller on the 26-man roster.

Phillies' Brian Keller: Fares well in big-league debut
Keller took a no-decision Saturday against the Yankees, allowing one run on two hits and no walks in three innings. He struck out three.
Making his major-league debut, Keller fared well on the bump while acting as a long reliever Saturday. Austin Wells tagged the 32-year-old right-hander for a solo home run in the third inning, but Keller was impressive otherwise against a formidable Yankees lineup. Philadelphia has had a hard time finding stability out of their fifth rotation spot since sending Andrew Painter down to the minors for seasoning, but Keller is tentatively lined up to take the ball next in Baltimore for now.

Phillies' Brian Keller: Officially promoted
The Phillies selected Keller's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley ahead of his scheduled appearance Saturday against the Yankees.
Keller, 32, will be making his MLB debut as a bulk reliever Saturday after posting a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB across 36.1 innings at Lehigh Valley. Alex McFarlane and Max Lazar were sent down to Triple-A as part of a roster shuffle, and Tanner Banks (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man spot for Keller.

The Phillies will call up Keller from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to either start or pitch in bulk relief Saturday against the Yankees, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Keller inked a minor-league contract with the Phillies in May and has logged a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB in 36.1 innings over eight starts for Lehigh Valley. The 32-year-old will be making his major-league debut Saturday after seven seasons in the minors and one in Japan.

Keller could be a candidate to receive a call-up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to either start or pitch in bulk relief Saturday against the Yankees in Philadelphia, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
The 32-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut after entering the professional ranks as a 39th-round draft pick of the Yankees in 2016. Tommy John surgery in August 2023 and nerve surgery on the same elbow in 2024 looked like a threat to end Keller's playing career, but the right-hander has bounced back impressively despite sitting out the past two seasons. After inking a minor-league deal with the Phillies on May 18, Keller reported to Triple-A two weeks later and has proceeded to turn in a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB in 36.1 innings over his eight starts. The impressive numbers have put him under consideration for his first big-league call-up while the Phillies are desperate for a solution to the fifth spot in the rotation. For the season, Philadelphia has gone 5-20 with a starter's ERA of 7.33 ERA in the 25 games not started by Cristopher Sanchez, Zack Wheeler, Jesus Luzardo or Aaron Nola.
