Walker picked up the save Wednesday against Philadelphia, pitching a third of an inning in an 8-6 victory.

Facing Trea Turner as the potential tying run in the 10th inning, Walker was able to coax a flyout to earn the first save of his major-league career. While he seems unlikely to get regular save chances going forward, Walker's been reliable of late, allowing just one earned run over his last 11 appearances (15.2 innings). The 27-year-old right-hander now sports an impressive 2.14 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 53:13 K:BB across 46.1 innings this season.

Doval blew the save Wednesday, allowing three runs on a hit and two walks without recording an out in an 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Doval walked the first two batters he faced in the ninth inning before Bryce Harper launched a three-run homer to tie the game 5-5. It's been a brutal stretch for Doval, who's now taken four straight blown saves. He's allowed five runs over his last two appearances while recording just one out in that span. Overall, Doval's ERA is up to 3.09 with a 1.14 WHIP and 75:24 K:BB across 55.1 innings. He is 33-for-40 in save chances this season.

Hernandez picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Oakland, striking out one over 1.2 scoreless innings.

Hernandez was able to strand the bases loaded after coming on with one out in the eighth inning before closing out the A's in the ninth to earn his third save. The 26-year-old Hernandez has now converted his last two save chances after allowing three runs in his previous two appearances (1.1 innings). He now sports a 4.28 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 73:21 K:BB across 61 innings this season. Hernandez should see the majority of closing chances going forward in Kansas City, though the left-handed Austin Cox could see opportunities as well, depending on matchups.

Miller was designated for assignment by the Mets on Wednesday.

This move clears out a 40-man roster spot for Sean Reid-Foley, who has been selected to New York's bullpen ahead of Wednesday's series finale in Atlanta. Miller has posted a 5.40 ERA and 8:6 K:BB in 13.1 major-league innings this season between the Brewers, Dodgers and Mets.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Treinen (shoulder) remains a "long shot" to pitch in the majors this year, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Treinen made his minor-league rehab debut with a 1-2-3 inning Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League and will now move on to Triple-A Oklahoma City, but it sounds like the Dodgers have no intention of rushing him back. Granted, there are still five-and-a-half weeks left in the 2023 regular season and the outlook could change if he continues to pitch well on the farm. The veteran reliever required surgery in November of 2022 to repair the labrum and rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Garrett was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Garrett was called up by the Mets on Sunday and delivered 2.2 scoreless frames in two appearances. The 30-year-old has struggled in the majors overall this season with a 9.49 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB over 12.1 innings between the Orioles and Mets.

Green (elbow/head) could make back-to-back rehab appearances this weekend with Triple-A Buffalo, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Green had to pause his rehab assignment between Aug. 8 and Aug. 16 after getting hit in the head by a catcher's throw to second base, but he is again on the verge of making his Blue Jays debut. It sounds like the team is discussing whether to activate him early next week or wait until major-league rosters expand Sept. 1. The 32-year-old reliever is more than 16 months removed from Tommy John surgery.

Edwards (shoulder) was shut down indefinitely Wednesday after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right scapula, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

The right-hander was already on the shelf with shoulder inflammation, and he apparently didn't feel right after his minor-league rehab outing over the weekend. It's unclear how long Edwards will be shut down from throwing, but the injury could end his campaign if he's unable to get back to throwing within the next couple weeks.

Maton (elbow) threw a bullpen session at Minute Maid Park on Wednesday and could begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Maton has now thrown two bullpen sessions over the last three days and has responded well to both of them, so he looks like he'll be ready to test himself in a game setting. The right-hander said he expects to require only rehab appearance prior to being activated from the 15-day injured list. If all goes well during his time at Sugar Land, Maton could be reinstated as soon as Sunday or Monday.

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre reinstated Krook (back) from the 7-day injured list Wednesday, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.

Krook will return to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre bullpen after he had been sidelined for just over a month with a back issue. Over 25.2 innings with the Triple-A club this season, Krook has posted a 0.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB.
