The Angels placed Moore on waivers Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Hunter Renfroe and Randal Grichuk have also been made available to other teams as the Angels throw in the towel on the 2023 season and look to gain some salary relief. Moore, 34, carries a 2.30 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB through 43 innings this year and should be of interest as a bullpen addition for just about any contending club.

Burdi (abdomen/elbow) is scheduled to resume throwing in a couple of days, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Burdi had to be pulled off his minor-league rehab assignment last week due to ulnar nerve irritation in his right arm, but it shouldn't be an overly serious setback. He initially landed on the injured list back in late May following an emergency appendectomy.

Fulmer (forearm) is expected to resume throwing later this week, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Fulmer just landed on the 15-day injured list this past Saturday with a right forearm strain, but an examination conducted Monday showed that he is already improving. The 30-year-old setup man might be ready for activation when first eligible Sept. 10.

The Cubs recalled Kay from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The 28-year-old left-hander will join Chicago's bullpen ahead of Tuesday's game against the Brewers as Jose Cuas goes on bereavement leave. Kay holds a 6.35 ERA and 8:8 K:BB through 11.1 major-league innings this season.

The Cubs placed Cuas on the bereavement list Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Cuas will likely miss at least the final two games of the Cubs' current three-game series versus the Brewers. Anthony Kay has been called up from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding roster move.

Colorado optioned Kauffmann to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Kauffmann surrendered three earned runs over three innings of relief in the Rockies' blowout loss to Atlanta on Monday. He has a rough 8.42 ERA in 25.2 total major-league innings this season.

Colorado recalled Hollowell from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Hollowell has struggled to a 6.46 ERA through 15.1 innings of relief this season at the major-league level. The 25-year-old right-hander figures to be used in a mop-up role as he returns to the Rockies' bullpen.

Selby will serve as the Pirates' opening pitcher Tuesday against the Royals.

Luis Ortiz had been listed as the probable starter for Pittsburgh, but he'll likely work in bulk relief instead. Selby tossed two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in his last opener assignment this past Saturday versus the Cubs.

Barraclough was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Barraclough was called up by the Red Sox on Monday and was lit up for 10 runs across 4.1 innings of long relief to take the loss against the Astros, so it's not a major surprise he's not sticking on the big-league roster. The 33-year-old has pitched well as a starter at Triple-A this season with a 2.43 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 41:23 K:BB over 55.2 innings.

Single-A St. Lucie placed Rodriguez on its 60-day injured list Aug. 11 with an unspecified injury.

Rodriguez missed most of the first two months of the season while finishing up his recovery from March 2022 Tommy John surgery before he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on June 21. He was activated by St. Lucie a month later and made only two appearances in the Florida State League before being shut down again. Since he last pitched for St. Lucie on July 27, his move to the 60-day IL means he won't be eligible to pitch again for the affiliate during the 2023 season.
